Office Nomads

By far the most awesome, welcoming, friendly coworking space I have ever been to, of many. It is not an uptight corporate mimic; it’s a laid back community of independent, friendly, professionals. (It is also logistically perfect with fabulous internet, printers, coffee, etc.)
The people who run it, Susan and Jacob, make fostering a community look easy through completely optional (but really fantastic) programs like cotivation, which focuses on setting goals and working through obstacles with non-​coworker coworkers, if you will.
Really changed the way I work, forever. I am so happy I tried it for a day!

Great space for coworking, easy to find, and great people out front. Shared conference room, kitchen, etc.

I love this place to work from. Great location, great people, free coffee, fast internet. There is nothing bad one can say about Office Nomads.

Great place to work. I was in town to visit family but ended up having to work. They were great, got a free day to try it out and spent the rest of the week working. Even helped me figure out a plan that would save me some money.

I didn’t want to love this place, but I can’t help it. It gets me.
I got sucked in through one of their frequent «try us out for free» deals and now drive in from North Seattle because I’m so much more productive than I am at home. It’s only $ 5 to park all day at the garage across the street so I don’t have to deal with Cap. Hill parking, although there are plenty of free 2-​hr spots within a block or two.
In return, I’m surrounded by smart, interesting people to bounce ideas off or collaborate with. Free tea and coffee! There are offices available to sign out for meetings, which gives my new company added credibility. And I have a safe space to keep my things when I walk downtown for meetings.
Try it out for a day or five. You won’t be sorry.

This place is run by some really cool people and the community is very helpful and has great energy. On the member mailing list there are regularly people offering or asking for help in fields that are not their core-​competency and the comunity is always there to lend a hand. Fantastic!

Office Nomads has been absolutely wonderful. It’s a fantastic community in a great part of town. I recently changed spaces because I found one cheaper, and I was gone for just 11 days before I gave up on that and moved back. It really is the friendliest group of people you’ll meet in this city, and it’s a great environment to work in too. Highly, highly recommended!

My boyfriend uses this as his office. I came to visit and am now extremely jealous that I don’t work here! Super nice space and facilities, but the best thing is the great mix of people — good energy and interesting networking. I’m thinking about joining now too!

I dropped in at Office Nomads because I was in the City and had a huge gap between my morning meeting and dinner engagement. The drop in rate is really reasonable, the work area is convenient and the staff is friendly. Much better than noshing at Starbucks for 5 hours!

I love this place. I love being in an office – without the micro-​managing boss, the yucky cubicles and annoying office politics.
I’m currently interning with a woman who uses this space as her office so I don’t know the specs, but I do know that she can have a guest 4 times a month (which is mwah). She’s able to bring her baby (her dotson) whenever she wants; has a desk that is designated for her and her iMac; and comes and goes whenever she pleases.
There’s just something about being in a space where there is a collective energy. Everyone – for the most part – works for themselves. They’re all focused and self-​motivated. This is a space for those who don’t enjoy being isolated at home or working alone in a coffee shop. Everyone is open and friendly – but they mind their own business.
However, ideas are shared and referrals are passed around. It’s a community of entrepreneurs. They yoga on Wednesdays and hit happy hour together. The kitchen and bathrooms are shared spaces where everyone cleans up after themselves. And it’s such a welcoming community for guests, like me. (The office manager/​receptionist is really friendly.)
If you need privacy, there are conference rooms that you sign up for – or you can talk at your desk if you want. I don’t think anyone expects the office to be like your typical corporate environment. Haven’t heard a shush yet.
I’ve been in and out of many, MANY offices – this triumphs over any corner office on the 37^th floor office building.

Office Nomads seriously changed the way I work. For me, the most difficult part of self-​employment is the agonizing isolation. The way you pick out your outfit for the week instead of the day. Because really, who cares? It’s fun for a few months, but then it’s just depressing.
Office Nomads not only gives me a place to go work, it gives me an AWESOME place to go work. The space is immediately comfortable, and there are tons of great touches like hand towels instead of paper towels in the bathroom.
Because, while I love my favorite tea shop, I can’t exactly yell at them when their wifi goes down for the third time in an hour just as I’m finishing up a big project. Because the tea shop isn’t in the wifi business. They’re in the TEA business. Office Nomads makes sure you can get your work done. LOVE THEM!

Office Nomads has made my life so much better. Having a place to go in the morning is amazing. There are great, smart, fun people here. Amazing networking opportunities in an amazing location.

I did some «temp» work here for a friend. Basically I was there doing a project for him for a few days. I didn’t use a lot of their amenities or anything, but everyone here was super friendly. There were tours going on while I was working and the one thing I heard a lot of the people who use the space say was how much more productive they were when they worked outside the house.
Well if you’re hunting for a place to set up shop, I’d definitely consider here. The wireless was flawless and I never got booted or anything like that. The speed was fairly quick too. The bathrooms were really nice, which is always a plus. The location is great and close to lots of good food and such.
What really impressed me is I showed up on the first day with a cup of coffee and the front desk guy informed me they nearly always had coffee made already so I shouldn’t worry about grabbing a cup before coming into the office. I have no need personally to use this space, but I’ll definitely be recommending it in the future for others!

No really, it’s a whole new way to work. I used to work there about a year ago — and I miss it big time. That’s why I go back there all the time and hang out.
The nomads that run the place are Jacob and Susan — always very friendly. Anyway, I could describe it in more detail, but I think you just need to go there and experience it for your self.

I’ve been using the Office Nomads space for just under a year now. Before that, I had been working out of coffee houses, bars… anywhere with a WIFI connection. Honestly, the last year has been more profitable for my business than any year previous and I attribute a good deal of that success to the Office Nomads space.
While there, I’m better focused, more productive and generally happier working. If you’re an independent professional or have the option to work remotely, you owe it to yourself to give them a try.
Your first day is free… so there’s no reason not to try ;)

I first came to Office Nomads shortly after they opened in November 2007 and was immediately happy about it. I’d been working at home for about 6 months as a freelance writer and felt so completely isolated. But when I tried the coffee shop thing, I just couldn’t get work done in that environment either. It was too filled with the distraction of people not working (not to mention the noise level making phone calls impossible, the lack of basic office support such as a solid Internet connection, supplies and a printer). The first day I worked at Office Nomads though, I felt like I was a contributing member of society again. A wonderful feeling.
The environment at Office Nomads is open and welcoming. There are desks, but very few walls and ZERO cubicles. When there are a lot of people working, it can get louder than, say, a library, but it is office noise and so a lot less distracting than loud music on a coffee shop stereo competing with grinders, espresso machines and screaming kids. (Yes, there is music here too.) There is a printer, fax machine, solid highspeed Internet (wired and wireless), couches, conference rooms and a kitchen. Those of us who work here have formed a good community of folks who are fun, interesting and are helping each other out in business and in life.
In short, if you’ve taken the leap (or been pushed) out of a supported company-​based employment, or work from home for whatever reason, you might miss that office life and culture that is so fun and even inspiring. Office Nomads offers it in spades, on your terms.

This space is very mellow with a work vibe that keeps you focused.
I have a dog who loves to play me like the fiddle I am. But while I’m away she’s content to nap and keep watch. So I’m so happy to have a space I can escape to without smelling like a mocha the rest of the day.
The beauty of being able to work from anywhere meets the ability to work from somewhere. Love it and recommend it to anyone who needs a space but doesn’t want to buy a second loft for work.

I went to officenomads for the first time the other week, and it was awesome. Everything that I needed in an office when I needed to get out of the house and nothing that I didn’t.
It’s hard to stress how useful this sort of space is for a professional who mostly works out of the house.

The wireless is great (ceiling mounted), the people who use the space are fun, the coffee is good, there’s even usually a decent beer in the fridge. This is a good, easygoing way to keep your mind on work and still not get cabin fever trying to work out of your apartment.
