Small venue with the usual gets hot, crowded, and the sound system isn’t that great. Came here for drop the gloves first off I’m not sure why vip has to line up at the box office to get a general admission ticket. They should just be able to get in without having to get another ticket. The trash cans were 16 dollars because they were«stadium priced» while being a small drink. I know El Corazon doesn’t allow crowd surfing and such this place should do that or try to maintain it. People were getting thrown on stage hitting the people in front which you can expect but there were metal platforms for the band members to stand on which lined up with the people’s face. One of the bathroom door locks didn’t work well. You could try to lock it but the next person would get in as if it were open. This was in the bar area the other bathroom was fine and actually locked. I did like that if you went to the bar area on the balcony you could get a perfect side view of the band up close. You’re not cramped as bad with the chance to get sweet pictures and videos. This venue is ok parking is just around the corner if one of your favorite bands is playing I recommend. Otherwise it’s a pass.

My iPhone has been in the toilet a few times here. Great shows. Intense hot dog smell. They say scent is the sense most linked to memory. All my favorite musicians are now neurologically associated with hot dogs.

We came to Neumos for a small concert and had a good time. The people were friendly and the drinks were okay. Otherwise I would recommend some good shoes as the floors were so sticky everywhere. I didn’t wanted to check out the restrooms, so I can’t say anything about that. Parking is — as almost everywhere on CH — horrible, so don’t expect to get a spot in front of it. I don’t think that this will become my favorite venue for events/concerts, but it’s okay.

A nice place to support local music. I’ve only gone for a few bands I know. There is plenty of space and a nice upstairs lounge. The overall sound is good! Worth checking out if you’re out on Capitol Hill!

Terrible place to see a sold out show! I went to see Godspeed You Black Emperor last night. It was a terrible place for this show. Incredibly hot, crowded and impossible to see the band, especially if you’re short.

I don’t know what to say about Neumos. It’s sorta dirty, but that’s to be expected. The sound isn’t great, but that’s to be expected. I’ve seen a lot of music here over the years, so I guess I have a sentimental feeling about it.

Nice size venue, came for the Eldridge Gravy & the Court Supreme show/Good Company, Jan 2016. The show was extremely packed but they DIDNT open the upper loft area which sucked honestly it was a bit too busy. Sound was good, staff/security were very friendly and made us feel welcomed. Over all attitude was great, which set up for an amazing night. The major con being hardly no where to sit down so we went to the bar next door to drink before the show and during the show. We would have bot drinks inside but there were not nearly enough table and not to mention the only table/seats where up and in terrible view if there was one. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. As a group we spent close to $ 120 in drinks that night, next door not at Neumos. Please give you guests some high top tables or something so we can take breaks and enjoy drinks and spend more time at the show or well just keep going next door. Id like to think a spot to sit for a moment and rest my heels isn’t much to ask. Anyone knows is Neumos owns the bar they share a wall/interior door with? Just curious.

So the setup here seems alright until you try to get back in. They force you to wait in line with all of the folks trying to enter for the first time, which raises the obvious question: what if there’s not enough space to re-enter? Overall, Neumos is just a solid average. The establishment has potential, but the management sits slightly below.

Lived here long time been to a lot of venues. Something has gone seriously wrong with the procedure at Neumos. I made the mistake and went to a underage show there recently. I want to say shows with all ages really change things… First off as an adult I like to get away from all of that when I go out to see a show I don’t want it to end at 10:45 because its an all ages show. Also we’re not allowed to hold our drink on the first floor but you can’t see the band on the second floor where the drinks are, and its really cold in there. Why can’t Neumos post the schedule online. Why because they want you to really early to pay for their very extremely expensive drinks. Even if I love the band I’ll wait to see them at another venue. I’m not going back.

WOW My dear beautiful Seattle are you spoiled! I attended rainfest here during may. Went to this venue for three straight days and it provided one of the best experiences I have ever had. The first day was a little hard to get in as there was some confusion with the lines and tickets but the security actually handed this pretty well. Going in, the venue wasn’t top notch clean because well its a venue but it was clean enough. id consider this a mid size venue that gives you a pretty intimate show. it had enough space for 7 – 10 bands to set up their merch. The dance floor was nice and spacey to give room for everyone to hit each other when freedom played their FREEEEDOMSLAAAAM! The stage is amazing! tall enough to see from the back and small enough to hit those stage dives. Also your neck wont hurt from trying to watch an artist(the complex slc) The acoustics were pretty good. I mean it was a hardcore festival but it still sounded pretty good specially when I compare it to the 50+ venues ive been to! The next two days were even better! the line went through with a breeze and there were no problems going. When all out war started their set my mind left my body and my shoulder its socket! Once security realized i dislocated my shoulder they escorted me outside and gave me a free water! really nice people that seem to actually care about your safety! WOW! After the show and during the security were also giving free water to everyone. FREE i have heard of no such concept in utah! the next day was about the same but all of security asked me how my shoulder was going and it i felt better, wait what security asking about my safety? overall i was impressed and had the best three days of my life here. thank you neumos i wish we had clones of you back home.

I’ve got some loyalty to this club from its old days as Moe, plus they get great bands from a zillion genres, usually for decent ticket prices, but for crap’s sake, the sound here is so uneven. Sometimes the sound will be perfect, or at worst a minor afterthought, but other shows you’ll be able to hear one or two instruments and no vocals, and you can play the«maybe the sound is better over here» game but to no avail at all. It’s honestly a coin toss as to whether or not the sound is going to be great or mush, and when you only get a chance to see these bands once every year or two, those odds are really bad.

Small and intimate venue, but holy shit is it hot in this place. After reading all the reviews, I decided to ditch the jacket and just wear jeans and a t shirt. Okay I should’ve gone shorts as well. This place is like a furnace. They have a bar to the side and if you’re under 21, then you have to stand upstairs in the loft that overlooks the side of the stage.

While visiting family in Seattle recently, one of my favorite bands, Mae, was scheduled to play on June 2 in this venue and I got tickets. Oh. My. God. is the sound quality terrible. For the first couple songs Mae played you could just see the pain on the band’s faces as they struggled to deal with the awful sound system quality and acoustics. I saw them previously(in AZ a few years ago) so I know they have the potential to sound awesome live. Mae is rock/alternative so maybe the sound system here fares better for a different genre like electronica, but I wouldn’t recommend seeing concerts in this venue.

Neumos is a great venue for smaller shows. The setting is intimate and you can get really close to the bands on stage if you want to. There is also an upstairs area, which was where people under 21 years of age were subjected to at one concert I went to. I had never seen a venue do that before, but I guess that’s one way to keep the kids from the bar. It just kind of stinks that they had to be farther from the stage. For a music venue in Seattle, Neumos is fairly clean and well maintained. No sticky floors or nasty bathrooms. I’d definitely come back to check out more shows.

Great place to see local music, usually $ 10 for a show. Lots of space, can get crowded closer to when the headliner plays, but typically pretty chill early on. There is also an upstairs that tends to be chiller to hang out if you aren’t trying to be in the crowd.

Saw a show here and was a little worried after reading some of the bad reviews on here. Now I wonder if Seattle show goers are just spoiled or something… No offense, folks. Just sayin’ that compared to many east coast venues I have been to, this place was alright. Yes, there are spots where equipment blocks your view. Easy solution: do not stand there. Yes, if you are short, you may have trouble seeing the stage. Pretty common problem at lots of small venues. I actually found the sound system to be pretty decent and although it was pretty hot in the venue, it was not stifling. August may be a different story, of course. Parking was easily found, although not free which seems to be what everyone here expects. I think I paid $ 7 which is fine by me. Try finding parking in DC for less… All in all, I would go back.

Neumos is a nice, intimate club with a large dance floor, and a nice bar area next to the stage. It also has a nice balcony area with some additional seating upstairs. I’ve come here several times to catch all sorts of different acts, real bands, electronica acts, dance music, live music, you name it. The staff were nice, including security and bartenders. There is usually plenty of parking on the street nearby, or if it is a busy weekend, I suggest using the QFC paid parking area(mostly because it’s covered, more secure, and was like $ 5 to park for the evening).

The feel of the venue is pretty intimate. The room main floor itself is pretty spacious, but feels just right once the show starts. I had a great time seeing Beardyman last weekend. Drinks were reasonably priced for being a concert venue located in this part of town. There’s a secluded pay to park lot down a side street if you can’t find street parking(which proved difficult for me). There is an upstairs lounge section with a couple of tables and chairs but i wasn’t keen on staying up there long as it was much hotter than the floor level and smelled like straight B.O. This would be the perfect size venue to see lesser known acts/musicians that you’re into as it’s a small venue and has an intimate feel. The sound quality doesn’t suffer as a result of that either. The 32 oz hugo sized Red Stripe bottles earn an honorable mention because they are a good beer for a show. The narrow neck and stubby body of the bottle means you spill less when dancing/thrashing/skanking/whatever.

Does a Neumos review really matter? If your favorite band is coming to town and playing at this craphole, you’re probably still gonna go. I am! The last time I went(and let’s face it, that won’t be my LAST time) it was off the charts gross. Even for Neumos. But I’m a reasonable gal, so I emailed them after the show, instead of posting on Unilocal… – I attended a wonderful show there on Tues(Wye Oak). However, there were 2 big problems that I think could easily be addressed to help make future shows more enjoyable: 1) It smelled like rotting road kill or something equally horrific near the bar when entering from Moe Bar. It was a stop-you-in-your-tracks, fetid smell that lasted throughout the show and it couldn’t possibly have gone unnoticed by mgmt/employees. Hopefully it’s gone, but if not… Holy Hannah, please check into it. 2) It was an unseasonably hot day. We were all drenched in sweat and there’s nothing you can do about that. However, the lead singer complained multiple times about how hot/sweaty she was. Maybe that’s her shtick, in which case disregard. But I felt like a fan or something on her would’ve been nice. – Spoiler alert: I never heard back. C’mon, Neumos. You can pick up a bottle of ammonia at the dollar store for… wait for it… A DOLLAR. In the meantime, your signature scent of BO, farts and roadkill is a total buzzkill.

This is a great venue especially for 21+ shows. One of the best parts is all the bars so getting a drink is relatively easy and quick. Not only are there 2 full attached bars to the venue, one on the right and one downstairs, but there is one right by the floor in the venue and another up in the balcony. Are the drinks over priced? Yes of course it’s a music venue… in downtown all places showing entertainment over charge. The balcony is cool. It over looks the floor and stage if you don’t want to be down below and there’s plenty of seats and tables if your not into watching one of the bands. Yes this place is not as clean as the Moore or paramount, but it’s a score better than some venues I’ve been in. I thought the staff was great. Sometimes at music venues(especially in hipster northwest) you get the«we’re too cool for our own good» staff, but I didn’t get any vibes like that here. The bouncer checking id’s was friendly and talkative. The bartender remembered our order after just the first round. Even the ticket taker with a lip plate, giant ear gauges, and full Maori warrior face tattoos was nice. Sound was good, not amazing but good. I’ll definitely add neumos to my regular list of concert going.

A girlfiend and myself came here on Valentines Day to see Karmin. It was both our first time here, and probably our last — even though the tickets were a good price, there is just too much bad to outweigh the good. Parking is just like anywhere else in Seattle… a clusterf*** and too expensive. But, that’s another story. We got there early, because as my fellow Unilocalers mention, it’s general admission, and mostly standing room only. There are only a select few places to actually sit and none of those places have a view of the show. It’s probably not a big deal to you youngsters out there, but for me — I want a good beverage, and a place to sit — especially if you’re going to be sitting for HOURS. We decided to go to Moe’s bar(right next door, and connected to Neumos) to grab a bite and pre-funk a little before having to pay venue prices for drinks(more on that later). This place is where it’s at! $ 2 well drinks and $ 4 fish and chips?! SIGNMEUP! I’ll have a seperate review on this place — so, I’m not going to go into it much here. So, we headed into the venue, and it REEKED. Just sweaty, musty… and…ugh…like 100 nasty teenage boys were trapped in a hotbox. Which leads me to my next gripe — it’s SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hot in there. It wasn’t bad on the floor WHEN they finally opened the doors, but up in the bar area, it was like a sauna. I was in a t-shirt and jeans and my back was soaking wet and I was miserable. The passage way to get from Moe’s bar to Neumos is weird and some people have tickets and some don’t — you get stamped like three times from three different bouncers, and you can’t go back and forth once you’ve committed to enter the venue. It was strange and oddly unorganized. The show was supposed to start at like 7pm. Typical of shows in Seattle(and probably everywhere else) there were some opening acts. In the mind of Neumos, an opening act is 2-hours of house/dance music first played by what seemed like a radio station, then a DJ came in and played some more of the same crap. The show didn’t end up starting until like 9:45pm-10pm. The acoustics and sound were WAY too loud and distorted — and, maybe it’s because I’m getting older(just turned 30) but, when the speakers are cracking and humming, it’s too damn loud! The drinks were WAY expensive, though, I think you find that at most places. We paid the same price for SIX drinks and two orders of fish and chips at Moe’s bar that we paid for TWO drinks inside the venue. All-in-all, if you’re a teenager going to an all-ages show, and love to just be out of the house without parents and don’t care if you sweat your a** off, this is the place for you. If you’re an adult, trying to have a good time, some beverages and a nice place to sit — you’re out of luck!

Last night was my first time to this venue and we had an amazing time at the concert! A great tip for anybody planning to visit this venue is to understand that this is not a five-star venue. The staff is very difficult to deal with. You’re almost greeted with a sour hostile attitude that makes you want to turn away. But don’t! Don’t allow the staff to ruin your night! If we had we would’ve never gotten the experience that we did. I rate this venue two stars for the poor customer service, run down appearance, low quality drinks, and disorganized ticket sale and distribution systems. The one attribute that saves this place is the fact that they allow great artists to come to the city without discrimination. Way to go Nuemos!
