This place is hands down best gyro I’ve had so far. Packed with so much flavor. Get anything with Gyro meat — platter, sandwich etc. It was really filling. Chicken Shwarma was pretty good too but next to the flavor of the Gryo? Doesn’t compare. The people working here are really friendly too. It’s so unfortunate with the gas leak explosion :/Hopefully the business can recover soon.

So shocked and sad about the gas explosion that leveled the Mr. Gyros Greenwood site. I’m hoping that they will have the ability to rebuild and know that the community near and far will be rallying behind them.

I love that when you walk in you feel like you’ve walked into a hole in the wall restaurant in Greece or Turkey. There is parking, which is a huge plus and complementary tea. I had the lamb/beef gyro and it hit the spot. Tasty meat, creamy tzatziki, and crispy fresh veggies. This was an awesome, friendly, cheap eats spot. Perfect pre-bar food. Plus to get to the bathroom you walk past an old guy chopping onions. It’s an adventure in itself! I’ll be back for sure.

Best Falafel I’ve ever had. Perfect everything including the high level of garlic in the fabulously thick tzatziki. And it was free through a Postmates special promo. Nice!!! Can’t wait to try more on the menu.

I feel like I don’t even need to add a review because there are so many positive ones, but they deserve every 5 star on here. Amazing gyro sandwich– I will definitely be visiting this place regularly. The guy working here seems to know everybody and their orders and is so friendly. Small space inside with only a few seats, but no matter, as the food is to die for.

SUPER friendly service! Amazing neighborhood vibe — they always treat you like a long lost friend. And well, as for the food!!! Best kabob in town! New garlic sauce is to die for!!! Go get your kabob on!

This is a tight space to eat but the food is very well done. I was particularly impressed with the fact I asked for no onions and they were able to accommodate my request. The food is made fresh to order and I’m a big fan of that. The chicken souvlaki plate and the gyro were tasty but I have to say the souvlaki is the reason I gave it four stars. The spices on the meat and the overall appearance of the dish was impressive. Unfortunately, I failed to take a picture of our lunch since the seating quarters are so tight with only a few seats. This is a good place for take out for sure.

My first time here and it was LIFECHANGING. Best gyro sandwich I have had and I’m not exaggerating. Great atmosphere walking in, very low key and the guys working were very friendly. They even offered us free mint tea while standing in line. Place is small though but it’s fine since we did not intend on eating there. There were probably four people ahead of us and it took awhile to order but everything was fresh! We also ordered their new garlic paste which was delicious and I could not get enough. However, my favorite is the gyro meat. So flavorful but not too salty, cooked very well, tender and not rubbery. I’m not a fan of lamb but this wasn’t not overly«lamb-y». The spices worked well together and there was not an overpowering of one spice over the other. The lamb/beef was perfect. I will definitely be back and will definitely recommend this place. Best gyros I have had by far.

Mr. Gyros is a local well known staple. The food has always been of good quality and the menu has a nice variety to meet anyone’s hunger needs. It is a pretty small space with little to no standing room. Your best bet would be to call in your order and take it to go. It’s especially convenient on a rainy day since it’s a hit or miss if you’ll be able to snag a seat. Recently I have come to discover that if you order to go, you must wait in line with everyone else in order to pay. This seems to defeat the purpose of ordering take out. Most people order to go so they can walk in, pay for their food, and leave in a quick, timely manner. One customer actually came in and canceled his order when he found out he had to wait in the long line of people waiting to order. When it came to my turn to pay I saw that my food had just been sitting under the counter the whole time. After waiting in line for about 20 minutes and the driving home, my food was lukewarm when I finally was able to eat. Disappointing and I was not happy about that new take-out provisions. Something to think about next time I choose to eat here.

I’ve been coming here more than 7 years and still adore it. They remodeled — subtly — the interior recently and it’s really functional. Around that time I noticed the quality of the food went even higher, and that’s saying a whole lot. The falafel is crispier, the baba is creamier, and the pita are softer. This place is special, run by people who love their community and pour their souls into making the best food. My latest favorite is the chicken shawarma sandwich. It’s basically the perfect meal.

Here be a worthy and solid gyro spot, possibly one of the best in the area. We got the gyro plate, one chicken and the other lamb/beef for $ 10.49 each. There was plentiful rice, greek salad, meat and hummus. Best of all, everything tasted uberly fresh! Why there was also hot sauce in the middle of the hummus was questionable though… considering it was already so delectable and smooth. The lamb/beef plate was leaps and bounds juicier than the chicken and went down beautifully with the tzatziki sauce. Small gripe is that they only gave one pita per plate, leaving you stranded to combine everything left with just your utensils.

All you have to do to make good Mediterranean food is not screw it up, use good ingredients, don’t use produce that’s isn’t quite fresh, don’t make your hummus runny, don’t buy discount super market pita, don’t over cook the meat and obliterate all the flavor(looking at you Mediterranean Express in Cap Hill). So simple, anyone can do it – well almost. Mr. Gyros isn’t one of these restaurants though. I ordered the lamb schwarma plate, the rice is like nothing I’ve had before, subtle nutty and maybe a tad sweet, but perfectly balanced, nor was the the hummus, there’s a depth of smokiness to it, not over powering, and it’s served with just enough chili oil to complement and raise one’s senses. The lamb was also very good, seasoned perfectly to match the rest of the plate, and didn’t have the strong lamb taste that can drown out other flavors normally, it pulls everything on the plate together. Competently satisfied leaving the restaurant, perfect. Quite frankly, there’s more skill, sophistication and understanding in a single $ 13 plate at Mr. Gyros than at most $$$ restaurants in Seattle(The Walrus and the Carpenter, ahem). It’s fully worth a trip across town and risking them being surprise closed for an hour, hands down.

Hands down best gyro plate I have ever eaten in my life. The gyro, rice, salad and hummus were all so fresh and tasty. The service was amazing & super fast. Very Friendly staff. Can’t wait to go again.

If venture to say, best gyro in Seattle. Kinda odd… They put a little bit of hummus in the gyro to give it a little extra kick, it’s barely noticeable but makes the gyro super flavorful and tasty. Place is packed, tiny and very fast. There may be a long line, but once you order it’ll come fast and be well worth the wait. Don’t expect tables and chairs. There are a few stools but most pickup and go. That can get tricky though because once the gyro gets cold, not so good! Side note– they are the winners of @foodhoppers gyro hop challenge in Seattle. Find them on Twitter.

UPDATE3÷9÷16: This location of Mr. Gyro’s was, very unfortunately, obliterated in the suspected natural gas leak in the early morning hours of 3÷9÷16. Google«Greenwood Seattle explosion» for more details. OK, so this gyro shop has limited seating and not much ambiance but offers great food at reasonable prices. The staff are friendly but the clientele can be a bit rude at times(e.g. hogging too much of the limited counter space, keeping the door open and letting the wind and cold air blow in, etc.). I ordered the chicken shawarma plate and it was OK. I wasn’t expecting the chicken to be cut into rectangular pieces and not resemble chicken whatsoever but it was tasty. I much preferred my husband’s gyro plate. The meat was more flavorful and it just looked more edible. The hummus was good but not the best hummus I’ve had in my lifetime, an inherit problem of traveling to Turkey, Jordan and Greece too many times and having eaten at too many good Persian restaurants in London. The husband and I decided that we’d return to Mr. Gyros but not to this location. The stacked seating and fact that the wind howls in the door and cools your food every 10 seconds that it is opened is a real downer.

tl: dr I ordered online, and it arrived two hours late and only half the order. I tried calling back and was repeatedly hung up on. Absolutely abhorrent, inappropriate, and unacceptable customer service. I will never again give them my business. I ordered online from them as I have done a few times. The food arrived around 2 hours after I placed the order. Not only was the food cold, but it was missing half the order. So I first called the delivery person thinking that he just forgot to bring us all the order. He was nice and explained that he didn’t forget anything, he was a third party delivery service, and I should call the restaurant. So I did. I called Mr. Gyros at 8:47 pm not knowing that close at 8:30 pm. The call went right to a voicemail recording and I didn’t leave a message. But then I thought, I’ll call back and leave a voicemail so that they can call back tomorrow and just refund the order. I wasn’t really that upset(yet) because, whatever, mistakes are made, it’s cool. So I called right back and someone answered, yay! But it was just someone who answered the phone and said, «Mr. Gyros closes at 8:30, buh-bye» and hung up. It wasn’t a voicemail, someone actually answered, said that, and hung up on me without letting me talk. I’m like, wtf?! So I call back again. Someone different answers and I explain that we received our order late and wrong, and asked for a refund. They hang up on me again. I ended up calling back a few more times and the following options occurred, numerous times(not in this particular order): — they answer by saying, «I don’t know what you want us to do about it» and hang up — they answer by saying, «Mr Gyros closes at 8:30, buh-bye» and hang up — they answer by talking jibberish and hang up — they answer and say nothing for a few minutes and hang up — they answer and say nothing, cough into the phone and hang up — they never answer and it goes to voicemail So after all the different ways they avoided talking to me I gave up. I ended up calling the online company we ordered through and they refunded my money. That kind of behavior towards a customer is so completely wrong. I was flabbergasted. Whoever was working that night is rude, childish, cowardly, and unprofessional.

It’s hard to describe how delectable their shawarma is. It’s up there with the best things I have ever eaten. Which is dangerous because I work around the corner. Try it! It’s just so, so good. I also really appreciate it that the little sides that come with the platters are excellent. Often places don’t put much effort into, say, the salad, but it is great. Just amazing.

I’ve had gyros at many places. So I came here to get my gyros fix. They open at 5 pm at night, parking is essentially street parking. Apparently they’ve opened up more locations, one in Ballard which is closer to me but I wanted to go to the original place. I ended up getting the lamb/beef gyros and tacked a combo to that(drink/fries). The gyro itself was pretty healthy in my opinion, lots of vegetables but I felt could use more of their wonderful sauce. The French fries were a little disappointing: limp, slightly soggy, and not crispy at all, which is how I like them. I do like the feta cheese sprinkled on top, that was a nice blast for my taste buds. As for a drink, you pick a soda can from their refrigerator next to the cash register. Overall, wanted more sauce on my gyro and more«fried» fries, everything else was good.

I love this place! The people here are great. Their customer service really stands out, as mentioned in most of the reviews here. You feel comfortable and the workers are so welcoming. As for the food, you really can’t go wrong with anything here. I’ve had their gyros, their combo plates, and their all delicious! Such a convenient neighborhood spot with the best eats! We’ll usually order take out here because the space is small with very limited seating. It can sometimes get pretty busy so call ahead! Mr. Gyro is my hero!
