Went to see Carl Craig on May 20th. Great experience overall! The venue is intimate and filled with people who are in the zone. An added dimension is the outside rooftop area to cool down every hour or so. I think it’s one of the top clubs in Seattle if you’re into house/deep house.

Overall, if you’re looking for a place to party after the regular bars/clubs are closed, swing by here for the«after hours» a.k.a this place be bouncin’ till 4am. Came here with a few friends on a Friday night and overall, it was a pretty good experience. The interior was super nice and cozy with the underground like vibe to it(despite the club being on the top floor of a building). As for the crowd, age range varied from 20s to 30s+. Some things to note: there are only two single bathrooms! So if you notice a line snaking around the back wall, that’s the line for the bathrooms. For those who may have drank a bit too much: be careful when entering/leaving the building since you will encounter a steep set of stairs. Coat check is available and if your dancing feet starts hurting, there are comfy looking couches to sit at towards the wall. A slight downer to the night were the abundance of creepy men that tend to linger awkwardly near the sides of the dance floor. Most of the creepy men were harmless but quite a few were a bit too forward in their advances. Despite this factor, the awesome music made up for it. If you want to continue your night of going out, continue it here at this place in Sodo :)

This place is absolutely horrible. I’ve honestly never been here before but apparently going to the bathroom with a friend is treated like I’m distributing drugs. First off, there is NO sign saying one person allowed. I step in the bathroom with my friend, 30 seconds later someone is POUNDING on the door, I mean vigorously knocking while I am no joke on the toilet. I’m mid peeing and then he starts shining a flashlight through the door. Like are you serious?! I didn’t have pants on and at this point I felt my privacy was severely violated. I hurried and obviously stopped peeing because I seriously believed they were about to bust open the door. Mind you, TWO girls had stepped out before we went in so obviously we had no clue this was un-allowed. Anyways, the second we step out of the bathroom, the security card aggressively pulled my arm and told me I’m getting kicked out. No warning? I’ve been to many clubs and if this is a rule most security provide a stern warning, which is acceptable. But here at Monkey Loft, for not opening the door when I literally peeling, I was thrown out immediately. Honestly, he viciously grabbed my arm and forcefully escorted me outside. I wasn’t even resisting, he just felt the need to exert violent security. Oh, and it was my birthday. The security could not care less about being humane or understanding. I’m talking absolute scum of security. Horrible behavior from a grown man to two young females. The only reason I even give it one star is for the bouncer at the front entrance named ‘Ashley’ who was the only staff who genuinely cared to listen and provide kind hospitality. Seriously, go home after the club. Order a pizza. Screw this place and their security.

One of the best underground music venues in the city. Great events, Dj’s, and staff is always friendly and on point. The Deck Parties are amazing and Yoga events are a fun unique way to kick off the evening. Highly recommend checking out this spot if you’re looking for alternatives to run of the mill clubs. Open late often and throw some of the most unique parties in the city. Do it…

This is my favorite venue in Seattle! Amazing sound system showcasing the best local and international talent, security & bar staff are amazing and you can’t beat the open air wood rooftop deck patio! It has the most amazing view of the magical Seattle City skyline! They do Yoga with Live DJ’s on the rooftop In the summer! It almost feels like you have stepped into Berlin or Paris for the day! If you haven’t been, go ASAP! You will Love it!

Monkey Loft is more than just a gorgeous dance club and event space. It’s a setting for some of the best vibes the world has ever experienced. The music and events are always incredible and the staff takes great care of you. Inside, the space is gorgeous with tasteful, quality décor and the rooftop is unbeatable, especially during their Summertime Wednesday evening parties, when you can see the sunset reflecting off of down town behind the DJs and enjoy a delicious cocktail while dancing surrounded by smiles. I’m always thrilled to be there and LOVE that their weekends go until 4am.

I’ve been coming to Monkey Loft regularly for a few years now. The door and bar staff are on point, as is security. They’re always willing to hear out a complaint and do their best to help create a safe, fun environment for everyone. The Monkey Loft, as well as all the people involved that host nights there, do their best to create a safe and unpretentious space where you can come to: — Dance — Be yourself — Have fun — Make friends This is NOT the club for you if you all you care about is image, getting laid, or status. This IS the club for you if you want to make deeper connections with other people who love music and dance, and want to have a great time in a safe environment. Overall, you’ll find really genuine and kind people in attendance. Girls, you can leave your heels at home and dance in flats or sneakers if you want. Let your dance moves come out fully without worrying about tripping on your face. Rock what you want. As far as the space goes, it’s got a beautiful wood floor(my old dancer knees say THANKYOU), and very swanky ambience. Also, the large back patio opens at 2am and pretty much rocks. This space is a safe haven for those in the underground house music scene, and a place of refuge for those who want to come enjoy themselves and dance without feeling like they’re participating in a predatory meat market(I, for one, can’t STAND clubs like that). Nothing but positive things to say about Monkey Loft and my experiences(probably nearing the 100+ visits, now) there. Love it.

This place has a great rooftop deck, awesome views of the city. Even in the colder weather of September you’ll be warmed up by the outdoor heating they have. Great space for a dance floor also. Parking also wasn’t terrible, I’m sure on the weekends it might be a little more tough(I went on a Wednesday for a private event). Two bars one upstairs and another downstairs. All in all a great place.

What can I say about the Loft… besides I my loft! From the Dj’s and the Paradise Sessions on Wednesday from 7 – 11. Every Time I hit up the Loft I know it’s going to be a good time, with amazing friends, and a dance party is about to ensue! Drink specials are delish! Bartenders are bomb! Music is always kickin! Love our Seattle electronic scene. Dance dance dance

This place sucks nowdays. Used to be awesome, now wack as fuck. Aggressive bouncers, bro style atmosphere and lots of drugs.

5 stars for underground vibe with amazing patio and even better tunes, 1 star deducted for rude assholes who don’t know how to keep their hands to themselves(they seemed like regulars so some responsibility is attributed to the club) and unwillingness to open said patio until 2AM. One of Seattle’s best kept secrets.

I dig it. We came on a slightly quiet Wednesday evening, which proved to be an excellent choice.(The Unilocal hours aren’t entirely correct. They’re open Wed — Sun). For a little while, we had the indoor room to ourselves. Got drinks, lounged on the comfortable couches, chatted a bit and just generally enjoyed the atmosphere. Asked the bartender about her awesome hair and got great advice, was informed about the outdoor deck from another friendly bartender that noticed we were new to the place. Strolled out to the deck and found where the ‘party’ was, but that crowd wasn’t too loud or rambunctious, either. Just a decent number of chill people talking and drinking and having a pleasant evening. They had another bar out there, too, and that bartender was just as friendly as the others were. Prices aren’t anything to complain about, either. Maybe it’s because it wasn’t a weekend night, but this place felt a lot more like a bar than a club. Could’ve danced if we wanted to, but us and most the crowd were in a drinking, talking mood. Music went on regardless, but it was at a conversational volume. Easily the place I’d recommend if you’re in the area. But yes, as someone else mentioned, food is difficult to come by in the area, so I’d hop here after a dinner someplace else first. Then you’re all set.

Easily my favorite club in Seattle. Plenty of room to dance, super friendly bartenders, and awesome crowd — no douchey pretentious vibes like some of the bigger clubs. The outdoor rooftop lounge is perfect for cooling off after you’re done dancing. Best of all, DEEP N BASS every first Friday of the month!

Be yourself. Open air, rooftop wood deck patio. Live local Djs. Two bars, hot bartender(s). Stringed lights. Sodo views. Free parking along the Ave. Open Super Late. Chillin’grooves will move you here, great for non-pretentious folk. No food nearby tho so get your grub-fix before or after.

I haven’t been to too many clubs in Seattle(or in general) yet, but this is by far the best one I have ever been to. What really makes the difference about this space is the music that they play! Normally I find myself at these kind of gigs, standing around talking or politely nodding my head to the beat. This however, this place was bangin’. Everybody was moving and the tunes were fun &INTERESTING. I will definitely come back to this place next time I feel like dancing the night away :)

This club is awesome! 90% of the people there come for the music and to dance. The other 10% are there looking for a hookup. What I love is that it’s such a diverse mix of who shows up. I’ve NEVER seen this anywhere and it makes me feel happy, like everyone is involved and together. Dress up if you want or dress down if that’s more comfortable and pleasing to you. There are men in suits, women in yoga clothes, and people in flip flops. It’s all okay. The crowd is mostly 30 somethings with a smattering of 40s, 50s+. The vibe is really chill and the nightlife is really enjoyable, a healthy way of living! I’ll definitely be back!

This is by far the best place I have ever been to in seattle. It has different types of music every night. the bathroom line kind of sucks but it definitely makes up for it in atmosphere and service. The bartenders aren’t your usual stuck up people who think they run the world because they can make that drink that no one has heard of. They’re really nice and helpful, exactly what a bartender should be. It’s kind of a hippie dippy place(like I smelled patchouli right when I walked in) but I’m a hippie so I felt right at home. There’s an awesome outdoor patio where the music is also playing with an awesome view of the city and fireplaces(way better area to converse if that’s what you went there to do) but mostly everyone is dancing. They also have vendors that come out over the weekend that sell great jewelry or music or whatever their trade happens to be. I love the vibe of this place I felt like everyone there was a really good friend. Rumor has it that a bunch of guys used to live here and throw underground parties then decided to make it into a bar where local DJ’s can play. Luckily corporate america hasn’t gotten a hold of it, hopefully it never does becaus OH! and they stay open till 5am. :)

Though the drinks were good and strong for their price the whole sceansss was just lacking. It was like this grunge bar in a loft that people went to when other places closed… But they weren’t closed yet. It wasn’t bad but the music had the same beat all night(techno style though I’m sure it has an official name I don’t know) and the room was full of men dancing wildly too the beat for most of the might. Until 1am there were 4 – 6 girls in the whole place and then people started coming in dressed as a mylittlepony and some old dude rocking an old style«Indian» jacket with the frills and all. There was of course the creepy guy trying to dance too close and the old guy lingering at the edge of people dancing that always seemed to make eye contact with you. Super creepy. I’d say«dance or go sit» but even sitting at the two small couches was filled with people wither actually hanging out and enjoying the company and music or again that odd old guy with a comb over lingering. Not a place I would volunteer to go again

I’ve only been here a handful of times during afterhours(usually they’re open until 4am, but sometimes later). This place is a hidden gem in the Emerald City! Great electronic music and many DJs will stop by after playing a show at The Showbox SoDo. I love the lounge, the view of 1st Avenue and the décor is classy. The bartenders make great drinks without making you wait too long even when they’re busy. However they need more bathrooms. The people that come here are really down to earth and fun, making it feel like home. If you liked ETG or the Old Limb Factory, chances are that you’ll love this place because of the similar atmosphere. I can’t wait to come here again!!! First Fridays are always fun with Drum ‘n Bass. In fact, I’ll probably be there after the show I’m going to. This place is starting to become a part of the normal night out routine.

I really love this place. Only been here twice so far. It’s Seattle’s best kept secret for nightlife! –Great music –Great bartenders –Really classy interior –Surprisingly good parking –Cool & Friendly(and even trustworthy, I left an expensive coat there on accident last weekend and I picked it up last night when I went. Everything that was in my pockets was still there) crowd. I can’t wait to go back!
