Good selection of food trucks and 10% of all sales go to fight global hunger. I went to the event last year and had a great time. My favorite selections from the trucks were the pulled pork tacos on Navajo fry bread from Off the Rez and the street donuts at Donuts Re-Imagined. Overall great event.

This weekend, I went to this event for a second time. As many of you know, I’m fairly well versed in the Seattle food truck community and definitely see the differences between events. Amount of trucks — With around 10 trucks, it’s easy to browse them all. For the last 2 years, this event has presented a good selection of trucks in terms of variety, cost, and type of cuisine. Parking — Parking has always been plentiful. Since the event is located off a residential street, you don’t run into the same traffic problems that you experience in Seattle. VIP Pass — At $ 5, the VIP pass is the most affordable price offered by any food truck event. That money buys you 1 hour early access to the trucks. I had one last year and it worked well since the weather was really nice. I didn’t buy one this year because I thought the weather would impact attendance and it did. Eating Area — Benches, grass, curbs, and tables/chairs are set up for you to sit while you eat. The downside is they set the tables too close together so that you were basically sitting with your chair against someone else’s. Very uncomfortable. I’d rather stand in the rain, which I did. Charity — 10% of food truck sales went to fight hunger. I believe all of the profits off t-shirt sales also went to fight hunger. I’m gonna eat at a truck anyway. It’s nice to see a few dollars go to a good cause. Vendors — There are a few tents set up for a radio station, school, and of course, World Concern. Aside from that, Media Fly Screen Shop was the only other vendor. I’d love to see just a few(not a lot) of high quality vendors that would bring something besides food to the event. I feel like once I’m done eating, there is nothing else to do. Contests — I have to give it up for these folks for having contests. They give away t-shirts and whatever the sponsors have donated — for example: Skillet donated bacon jam and Veraci donated a gift certificate. It’s a nice thing to keep people engaged. I love this event as a way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. I typically hit a few trucks on Sunday anyway so it’s nice to do something a little different.
