Lucy is an excellent and very knowledgable hair stylist. I come to Lucy every 5 months for Keratin, color, highlights and a cut. I wouldn’t think going any where else! If you are not sure about keratin and think your hair may be too coarse or ‘ethnic’ you need to try this!!! I am from African American decent and used to get relaxer every 3 months… now I get keratin every five months and hair doesn’t ever get freezy! I have tried many keratin stylers and products and have been getting keratin for 7 years and the last 3 years with Lucy… Lucy by far is the best and the only person I go to for keratin. Highly recommend keratin and if you want it done right go to Lucy!!!

I have been going to Lucy since the summer of 2014 when I first moved here from San Diego. I love her and the quality of her cuts and colors. She is not only great at doing my hair, but she is a GREAT PERSON! Give her a shot! You will NOT be disappointed!

I came in for a keratin treatment (my 4^th I think) but first time at this salon and I was very pleased. Lucy is very sweet and she knows what she’s doing. I also have a LOT of hair and it’s very thick, but she still got it done in about 2 hours and didn’t complain about how much hair I have. I would definitely return when it’s time for another treatment!
NOTE: You may have a hard time finding the location because her chair is located within another salon, so you will not see a sign for «Mixtzin» outside.

I got the keratin treatment and have had so many compliments. One person said she’s seen a number of people with treatments and would have never guessed I had it done because it looked so natural. The service was efficient and friendly. The only thing that sucks is parking.

Lucy did a wonderful job with my haircut and I really appreciated that she listened to my ideas and gave me a cut that works for me. I’ve had lots of cuts where the stylist seemed like she was listening, but the result was definitely not what I wanted. Lucy also talked about different cuts for different types of hair which put me at ease. My Asian hair needs special treatment! :). Thanks Lucy!

Don’t be fooled by the low prices, because the high quality hair cut, personal experience, and knowledgeable and personable hair care artist make this place a top tier salon. She could charge hundreds for a single cut, but lucky for me, keeps the cost extremely affordable. The only reason I give it four instead of five stars is because I have only gotten hair cuts and styles done so far and have yet to test the coloring and extensions out. But based on the care and cut I received from Lucy, I would trust her with anything. She helped me fix a bad cut I got from a salon I had heard high reviews of so she can handle anything. She made me feel completely comfortable and listened to what I wanted and gave me the perfect lightly layered look I was going for. Another time, she gave me a voluminous curly do for a wedding I attended, which I got compliments on throughout the night. I am also excited to go back and try out a new cut because she is so knowledgeable and creative and will give me a great new look too.
Lucy is an incredibly experienced, compassionate, and amazing human being that is a pleasure to get to spend time with while you are getting your hair cut. She is also bilingual so English and Spanish speakers alike can feel at home in her salon.

Lucy is so professional and truly listens to what you’re looking for in your new haircut. She is not scissor happy like some of the hair stylists I have gone to before. I am very picky about who cuts my hair because I have come across many who simply don’t listen and just do whatever you want. She has lots of ideas, but works with you to give you exactly what you were looking for.
I’m glad I went to Lucy and she now has a customer for life! Her new salon is conveniently located in Pioneer Square. And she has reasonable pricing too. :)

I don’t usually write Unilocal reviews but I really wanted to tell people Lucy is great! I’ve always gotten my hair cut in New York, so I was really hesitant to find a hair stylist in Seattle. But not only did I get a great cut, the service was great too! She gave me a thorough wash in the beginning and it was so comfortable, I could have taken a quick nap!
I didn’t have any specific ideas as to the type of cut I wanted, but Lucy gave me a lot of ideas as to what looks best on me and we went for it! I don’t like to talk much, but she was fun and engaging. I’ve only had Asians cut my hair, so I wasn’t sure if I was going to get some boring bob look, but i loved it! it was the perfect refreshing length and she gave me a lot of tips as to how I can manage my hair to give it more volume (something I struggle with all the time). She was confident in handling my type of hair and any one else’s for that matter. I highly recommend Mixtzin — prices are reasonable and I got a great cut!
