Mishu Boutique

I have been here a few times on other trips, however, was reminded most recently of this place (forgot to review). I appreciate how her clothes are built with a realistic body approach in mind, especially since I am curvy in all the right places. Very unique cuts. Customer service is great.

Think of a cross between Rick Owens urban/​goth ninja and hippies and that’s Mishu (for guys at least). If you’re into that as your go-​to look this is the place for you to do it without dropping big $. If you’re not into that, they still have some seriously comfy hoodies, cut off shirts, tanks, and pants that are perfect for lounging.

My review is so long overdue for Mishu and Michelle… Her designs are awesome and built for so many body types … When I first moved to Seattle I fell in love with her stuff and vowed to have a wardrobe built with so many of her pieces… I am nowhere near as many as I could have… Her pieces are just so delightful and flowy and drape well in such flattering ways… I’ve watched her line grow and change and love every season and what she brings out… I greatly appreciate her building selections of pieces for the more curvy goddess figure too! And her willingness to listen and DESIRE to expand her pieces and parts for us… Thank you Michelle — for real!!!
I’ve had a chance to meet her in the store (rare for a store owner to BE present and enjoy still working with her stuff and just random city folk) and she is simply delightful… When I’ve been in the shop she’s been a whirlwind of pulling things from racks and back-​stock — even going so far as to pull things long put away — she has a memory for her stock and her clothes as well as your body that is pretty remarkable… And it can be dizzyingly fun to whip thru racks and into the dressing room…
The materials are wonderfully soft yet sturdy cottons — they wash very well and hold up to turning into your favorite pants or skirt… The festival pieces and belts are super cute and add flair — but I have a couple tops and pants I seriously cannot live without anymore — I buy them in more colors and pretty much live in them… The arm warmers? Have turned into worldwide Mishu gifts … I can’t keep them they get admired and gifted forward constantly… And now the blanket scarf is turning into the same… I need to quit traveling with my Mishu wardrobe… Or tell people to buy their own online… Or come visit… LOL…
The girls who work there are always extra helpful and have helped many times as I have adjusted body size — they all know their stock well and help you work with the various pieces and jackets always recommending and helpful with options…
Seriously couldn’t be a bigger fan… And sales… Friend their Facebook for sales announcements… Oh wait — don’t… I wanna keep that tip for myself…

I love this place! They absolutely have the greatest, most unique, and highest quality stuff in town. The staff is always incredibly helpful and tolerant of my need to try on every single thing in the store. The owner is also a total sweetheart. This location is smaller than the Capitol Hill store, so there’s less to choose from, but that’s probably for the best because it forcibly limits my purchases.
My biggest complaint is that this store completely destroys my self control and efforts at saving money. So there’s that. :)
