Enjoy some pizza if you can get a seat. This place is busy. And it is busy for good reason. The pizza was delicious. Crust that was cocked perfectly along with veggies and meat to match. We did not find ourselves wanting for a selection of beer. At the end of the night we left happy and full.

I call this restaurant a 1D – one and done! I assumed that any restaurant with«maison» in the name would certainly have a french influence(and I’m not referring to the french onion lipton soup mix dip that came with the chips – more on that later). But outside of some french liquors(which were not all in stock) it really had none — and using the words fromage and charcuterie under appetizers doesn’t count. The dimly lit atmosphere seemed like they took a designers point of view on a speakeasy and did an interpretation from just stock items(bookcases painted black with books and random picture frames scattered throughout). There is one large speaker sitting on top of one of the bookcases that just looked out of place – I really noticed how loud the music was when I got to listen to commercials —they need to invest the profit from one cocktail into a Pandora account to avoid the loud commercial interruptions. They offer craft cocktails but quite frankly, there are others in Seattle that do it so much better. And the food — literally, the dip that came with the chips tasted like the main ingredient was Lipton’s Soup. The chicken skewers were ok — but WAYTOOMUCH citrus that overpowered every other flavor that was put on the chicken. The service was good but I don’t go to places for good service — I go for quality drinks and food. I won’t be returning.

I finally made it into Maison Tavern, it is hard to find at first, although simply located right on 1st ave. The décor is very prohibition-speakeasy complete with gin bathtub, cool relics and full of tall bookcases. Even the restroom is behind a bookcase. The bartender is friendly and knowledgeable can recommend tasty cocktails. What really stood out for me was although small portions, the small plates were very tasty! I Loved both the pork and spinach-chicken sliders, at just $ 4 each, as well as the buffalo hot wings! Will be back to try flatbreads at this great happy hour spot!

Happy hour is decent. I tried the sliders and they were delicious… only thing I would change is to have more than just one slider per dish even if they had to increase the prices a bit from $ 4 each. Bartender is a cool guy too.

A great place to grab a bite to eat and watch a game. Multiple screens, full bar and a cool«20’s prohibition» type atmosphere. They’re an extension of the club Aston Manor and are open during the week as a restaurant. The bartenders will make you a mean craft cocktail and make sure to try the candied bacon. ;)

Although we haven’t step foot in this establishment, they strung us along. My significant other did an reservation for Valentine’s day for 6:00 pm, they don’t open until 9:00 pm(they’ve never told my S.O. this until we showed up around that time). So we had to go else where for food. Oh well their loss…

The building is very discreet. I walked by several times unsure if I have the right location as the sign outside proudly states it is Aston Manor while my imap insists this is Maison Tavern. Upon entering I found myself unsure if this was a dance club or a restaurant. It definitely is NOT a tavern. However, i was scoping this place out for my wedding dinner so i was mostly there for the food and drinks. The bartender was great and attentive. We ordered the Ginfizz(tasted just like a gin and water, which I like just fine) and a Manhattan(which had leftover ice cubes and was a bit sweet but hey, it had real cherries!). Overall, drinks were okay. It would appear the selling point is definitely the ambiance. We ordered the Truffle Popcorn which did not taste like«truffles». We also ordered all 3 of the sliders. The braised pork was the best. Smokey in a bearable amount and the slaw inside was spicy AND sour which balanced nicely. The second one was the Oregano Chicken with cheese(I cant remember the name) and it was okay. Chicken was juicy and the cheese was satisfyingly cheesy but it was a bit bland considering all the stuff that went into it. The one we disliked the most was the Meatball Slider. I dont ever expect a restaurant to make red sauce from scratch but the jar taste was a bit too obvious. The meatball however, was tasty and not at all frozen or gamey. Although my dining partner did point out it was like eating a sloppy joe. Overall, Joseph our server/bartender was great. The ambiance was beautiful. The food was okay. The drinks were mediocre. Would I go back again? Maybe. It wouldnt be my first choice though.

The best HH I have had in a very long time. My buddies and I are always trying to find places in the city to enjoy some great food(two words: candied bacon) and great whiskey at a reasonable price, and we are happy Maison Tavern was recommended to us! Definite must try if you find yourself nearby. SoDo couldn’t have asked for a better addition to the neighborhood. Plus, it turns into a Vegas-like club on the weekends… WINWIN!

Great place to have happy hour. Very reasonable prices. Love the flatbread pizzas. Great people to talk to. Small enough to have good conversations with the bartenders.

Where everyone knows you name Ambience: 4 Food: — Drinks: 4 Value: 4 This place reminds me of Cheers. The friendly classic bar is the perfect neighborhood drinkery. They specialized in beers, plethora local and international grace the chalkboard. The game room has foozball and pool along with TVs and couches to watch the game. On nice days, there’s outdoor seating; oh! And they’re dog friendly, so you can bring your fuzzy friend with you: huskies, corgis, et al. Their food selection is just bowls of peanuts or pretzels, but various nearby food places will deliver to the bar. All in all, this cozy place is well worth your visit, when you’re in the neighborhood.

I love this bar, it’s a perfect spot for happy hour, girls night, or after work drinks. The craft cocktails are yummy, and flat breads are delicious. You have to try the candied bacon. The décor is beautiful and goes well with the 1920’s theme.

Great place! Must try the if your in the area. After a certain time at night it becomes a night club that is reminiscent of old town Vegas — very nice. All tables and chairs can be reserved. At lunch my party had lots of different foods and everyone was loving it. I had the basic margarita pizza. Really fresh basil and tomatoes. Great thin crust. Where you eat lunch is not where the night club is but if you ask they will walk you back there. You should ask, it is really something to see. Enjoy Happy hour f Good was yummy!!!

What a wonderful concept and a great addition to the SODO neighborhood ‘Speak Easy, Tavern & Food!’ Happy Hour with a few friends don’t miss out they have one of the best. Love the 1920s décor.

Brought some out of towners here for drinks and food mid afternoon and ending up staying for dinner! Deliciously different menu with tons of choices and the drinks were flowing. Attentive service, original ambiance and amazing food. Hats off to the Chef!

Unfortunately I believed some of the hype about a NW craft bar… and the entryway led me to expect top-drawer service. After waiting 5 minutes or anyone to even see me, I walked in. No bar seats? After a quick look around, I sit at a 2 top in plain sight of the bar full of 20 – 30 something’s. I had heard this was to have a SpeakEasy chic and they expected folks to come ‘dressed’, boy was I wrong, and severely overdressed with a casual jacket and a hat. It only takes 5 minutes for anyone to come by, and seemed honestly surprised when replying to her question if I wanted anything, I said, «A menu, please.» On this particular day, unapologetic bad service. The Fire Marshall and 3 pals stopped by, and I saw the Executive Chef give them the nickel tour. Later, as he was serving us the one appetizer I ordered as she breezed by a fifth time without drinks for my friends, we chatted. Mr. Executive Chef gets it, but IMO the wait staff needs training. If they are meant to be eye candy, they need stations to posture in. The food is limited, but they seem careful with it. Presentation is fine, flavor was right on, however it is tough to have short ribs on chips without a drink. The waitstaff(as I complain yet again) ought to have some modest, if not workable knowledge of menu items and libation options. Not in this place at this time. Regrets. I would give this place a pass for November as they iron out their kinks.

Great place and a very nice addition to the SoDo neighborhood. It’s decorated in a 1920’s. prohibition style and is very beautiful and very detailed. It has full bar and they pride themselves on their craft cocktails. The have a great Happy Hour and the food was really good. The meatball sliders were a big hit with my gang, as well as the candied bacon and the flatbread pizzas. Great place to hang out!

The location is a bit of a pain to get to, but the venue is awesome. The place is set up like a prohibition-era speakeasy… yet… not(if you’re a speakeasy, you don’t have a bar up front ;-p). The main dance-floor is hidden in back behind a hidden bookcase door. Though… it’s not really THAT hidden, since most places won’t have a doorman manning a bookcase. ;-p And you can easily see the back room via the balcony lounge area upstairs(the stairway is accessible via the front). The bars(at least during the sneak-peak) weren’t really well stocked, and the list of beverages available was limited, but word has it that they will have a much more substantial list upon opening. And really, they need it. What speakeasy doesn’t serve Sidecars??? :-p

Old world spirits, new world plates. I was able to attend a ‘sneak peek’ event at Maison Tavern tonight. Absolutely fantastic space — you could host a private event(they have a couple of areas that could be used). they have bites, drinks and of course dancing. My favorite part is the ‘corner bookcase’ that is actually a door to the lower level. I’m very excited to come back for dinner and drinks. Look for my update in the near future.
