A lovely holiday retreat during the shopping craze. L’Occitane is luxury. You can’t really walk out of there spending less than $ 20, so don’t go in there pretending that’s even possible. Go in there knowing you’re going to lay down twice as much as you intended, close your eyes, breathe, and enjoy it. The pre and post-holiday season is probably the best time to go to L’Occitane. The gift sets and deals are the best you’ll see all year, and it’s a great way to try something new in a set without any commitment. Every person in the store was super helpful and happy to answer questions and introduce me to new things. I even got a mini-facial out of it! I definitely dropped a lot of cash, but I enjoyed my gift for myself. This is the best time of year to stock up on some little luxuries for the year.

As a prior employee of L’Occitane en Provence, I can say that working there was the most hectic experience I’ve ever had. I worked at this location for 9 months and worked my ass off. Not only does the company make you follow a script, they don’t really allow you to add in your own experiences. Also, the company does not understand medical issues. The manager and district manager are pretty cool, but they are all business. Not a lot of REAL people here. If you want personable sales people, don’t go to L’Occitane. No commission and the bonuses suck, plus the manager and assistant manager get all the bonuses while part-time workers(who are also in college) are expected to work 35+ hours a week… With one 15 minute break and one 30 minute break. Very unrealistic. I buy candles and hand cream and that’s about it.

Love their products but hate feeling assaulted by sales people.

Love, love, love l’occitane. It is a wee bit pricey for poor little me, but it is so good that the price just kind of doesn’t matter. It just means I have to limit my shopping trips there! I went in recently to buy some of their fresh face water – a friend of mine recommended it to me and I loved the smell and thought it was very hydrating for a toner. It has shea extract! I also wanted to buy one of their solid perfumes for my purse(so nice to carry around just to freshen up!). The young woman working in the store was SO helpful and friendly, explaining all the benefits of their various skincare lines, and generally was awesome about telling us the best items for our skin types. I’ve been using the fresh face water every day and I love it! I can’t wait to go back and splurge on a great moisturizer.

I was determined to change my tired, old skin care régime; it was time. On the advice of a friend, I went to L’Occitane at Pacific Place. I have a hard time spending time in malls, but knew that I wasn’t going to rush it because I wanted to make an informed decision. I knew I wanted quality, paraben free skin care that was simple enough to be a daily régime. Oh, and it had to easy on my sensitive skin. I pretty much got all that and more. I did have to pay for trial sizes so that I could test the merchandise, about $ 30 for toner, moisturizer, cleanser, and exfoliator. It has been over a month, and I’m only about half through the trial sizes… I think they will go another month or so… good bargain. At first I was slightly uncomfortable with the staff person’s insistent courteousness, but then I remembered she is there to work and help me understand what the products are. We exchanged back and forth a bit, and all in all it was pleasant. I politely declined an offer to sign up my email address in some«offers» club… she respected that. L’Occitane has many other products also: French milled soaps, solid perfume, candles… but at this point my relationship with them, it is all about the facial skin care. It’s a GO!

I’m with Maria L. I love the products at L’Occitane, but dread shopping there because of the staff breathing down your neck from the minute you step inside the shop. Pardon, madame, but I’m not going to pocket one of your precious miniature soaps. Really, is this the French way? because I’ve shopped in and around Paris several times and have trouble getting anyone to wait on me at all, much less have them follow me around the store suggesting products. Sheesh.

Magnolias, Roses, and Jasmine. Oh My! I’m a huge fan of solid perfumes and these folks carry them for around $ 10 each. They are travel friendly and smell fantastic. The staff, however, is a little suffocating.

L’Occitane should really employ self-checkout stands or direct their staff to take a cue from the folks at that little Barneys satellite store in Pacific Place. The shop girls and boys at Barneys are there for you when you need them but subtly absent when you don’t and just want to browse.

This place is great! I love it… the staff are excellent at helping you find the perfect product for you! My favorites are the Winter forest candle and the honey gentle water! You should definitely go!!!
