Great service. Food was good and done fresh & simple. We had the Mac and Cheese(yum as always), Chicken Sandwich and the Waffles. The sandwich was really fresh and seasoned well. My waffle was just the right size… Crispy on the outside and moist inside. Had an outstanding dining experience and likely will go back when we visit UVillage. I actually like Liam’s more than Bennett’s in MI.

Fortunately went on a Tuesday to be pleasantly surprised that it was an all day happy hour. We took advantage of some of the items offered on the HH menu including the Mac and cheese which was delicious, salmon cake and charcuterie. The drinks were all good and the gin and tonic was especially good. The turkey burger was fantastic. I would definitely go back again for that. The lasagna looked very good and the two people that ate it thought it was very good. The scallop dish was a bit disappointing being a few scallops on top of lentils. Skillet cookie dessert was also very good. We were at a bar table and service was excellent. Everything came out very quickly and our waitress was quite attentive.

First time here was good. I enjoyed the kale Caesar and a side of broccoli. Both were very flavorful. The Caesar dressing was only a tiny heavy handed but that’s coming from someone who dresses her salads very lightly. The waitress was great in terms of friendliness and speed of service.

First time this evening – Sunday – at about 6:30– and were seated immediately near the fireplace of the front room of Liam’s. Very cozy, after being cold and wet from a day out in the city. Our waiter(dark haired, chiseled features, tall) was perfect. He was professional, unobtrusive, and knowledgeable, describing the various dishes on the menu and the differences in the red wines. He didn’t hover, but neither did he keep us waiting. Two of us shared a sampling of cheese and charcuterie that was accompanied by dried red cherries and a mustard seed dressing. We also shared a delicious arugula salad with slivered spicy almonds and bits of yummy Gouda, dressed with a lemon vinaigrette, as well as the over-the-top delicious Beechers Mac and Cheese with peas and pancettta, For dessert we shared the apple pie, which was actually an individual apple tart accompanied with fresh crème fraîche(a bit small for 2) that made us swoon. I’d definitely return to Liams!

This place has a nice environment to get food with some friends, and the entries looked pleasant. However, the food itself is very mediocre and doesn’t have much flavor to it. I liked their Beecher’s Mac and cheese the best!

When I first looked at the menu, I felt a bit overwhelmed by the price. I thought, wow these dishes sound so good. But the prices are a bit high. I felt a bit uneasy about how much to order and such but then our server told us that they were larger dishes and people usually shared a few items. And boy, was she right. The Dungeness Crab Cobb Salad we got was HUGE, and incredibly delicious. We also got their Crispy Chicken Breast Sandwich and their Beecher’s «World’s Best» Mac & Cheese. All three of us were obsessed with everything. I do wish the Mac & Cheese was a bit bigger, but in a way the amount was perfect in terms of richness. In terms of the restaurant itself, our server was very nice, always checked up on us and delivered great food and hospitality. The setting is very spacious, homey almost, and it looks kind of fancy but casual at the same time. It’s a bit noisy when it’s busy and the seats could have been a bit more comfortable. Definitely wouldn’t dine here everyday considering the price, but it’s a nice treat once in a while!

Liam’s doesn’t do much to accommodate for families with kids. My wife, baby girl and I went to Liam’s for lunch today. When I saw that they had an all day happy hour on Tuesdays, I asked if we can order from the happy hour menu. We were politely told that we could only order happy hour items if we were sat in the bar area. We were also politely told that we could not sit in the bar area with a baby even if it was a table on the outside of the bar section. Hmmm. Something’s not right here. I understand not sitting in the bar area with a baby, that’s a no-brainer, but to not offer the«all day» happy hour option to us simply because we have a baby is completely asinine. Shame on you Liam’s. After getting home I saw that their Tuesday All day happy hour is an advertised special on their website and nowhere does it say«Bar Only». I hate using Unilocal to write bad reviews. But this situation was so despicable I had to 1 star it.

s. l.o.w…ser…vice…(and they were not OVER the top busy) Our waiter was VERY friendly, but once again, he was slow… like a snail. I ordered the Tuna Melt with the House Salad, my husband ordered the same, and our kids shared a Belgian Waffle. The tuna melt wasn’t your«traditional flair» it was served on a toasted Focaccia slice of bread, it was«fancy», and such, but not… what I am used to. I wanted more mayo, and more cheese… and I wanted french fries. You get the option to have house made potato chips, or a house salad. The house salad is «okay», it has green apples, dried cherries, and a mustard vinaigrette. I liked it «okay» but, I secretly wished for some crispy french fries. I ordered a couple of beers, and a Bloody Mary. Waited a looooooooong time for drinks, and even had to give a «reminder» about drinks we had ordered… because«oopsie» our waiter forgot? He blamed it on the bartenders, and said, «Oh, did THEY forget about bring your drinks?!!»…perhaps they did. Perhaps they did.

Not a place that I would expect to have amazing or particularly unique brunch, though I was convinced it would be special after having to wait over 30 minutes to be seated on a Saturday. I ordered the smoked salmon cake eggs benedict — the salmon was delicious but they could have been more generous with the portion of crab. Eggs were perfectly runny, potatoes were excellent — but nothing standout. My boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs — steak was perfectly cooked but we were most impressed by the chimicurri, such a unique flavor and one of those things that makes you want to lick the plate clean. Overall, good food, really nice presentation — hence I snapped a picture. The prices are quite expensive for what you get, in my opinion, but if you’re already going to be in UVille for some shopping, I still recommend checking it out. The service is very mediocre, I think it’s such a large place with a lot going on that they tend to not care for you too well. That’s fine if you’re a low maintenance diner :)

Very okay food. The beecher’s Mac n cheese with prosciutto and peas did not disappoint. The burger was good, as was the crab Cobb salad. The mussels however were awful. We couldn’t eat them. The service was also decent, but nothing extraordinary. All in all, it was a thoroughly mediocre experience for a pretty high price point.

We visited around noon, for lunch, on a busy Sunday, and waited @10 minutes for a table. We asked the waitress for suggestions, and she was informative and friendly, though I had some trouble hearing her because the place was cacophonous. Wife started with fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice, which she likes about three times a year. She also ordered the mushroom-poblano Beecher’s mac n cheese, and it was the real deal. I tried it. No disappointment there. Kid had a sticky bun and small fruit plate. The sticky bun was awesome, and we saw a number of folks around us chowing on them. The fruit plate was attractive and fresh, but way overpriced. For, I think $ 8, you get two slices each of orange and grapefruit, one sliced strawberry, a slice of pineapple, and a small bunch of grapes. I had the pulled pork sandwich, with roasted red pepper, spicy broccoli, and Beecher’s. It was tasty, but not spectacular. It was certainly not a typical bbq-style sammy; it more fit the flavor profile of a Vietnamese sub. With tip: $ 54.

I’ve been to Liams for happy hour a few times and have been impressed with their $ 5 house wines. For happy hour they have a couple of snack type tray options(meat, cheese, crackers, nuts, etc). If you’ve turned into(starvin’) Marvin and are looking for a filling happy hour meal, this wouldn’t be your place. But if you’re looking to kick back and have some bites and wine after a hard day of shopping then, my friend, this would be the happy hour place for you. Today I ventured out and found a seat in the main dining room for lunch being that it is Seattle Restaurant Week. I wasn’t expecting much in terms of portion size but I was pleasantly surprised that the dishes I got were full-size. I ordered the meat and cheese plate and the grilled shrimp salad. My friend ordered the calamari and turkey sandwich with chips. The calamari was breaded with cornmeal which the texture isn’t my fav but the flavors were nice. The shrimp in my salad could have been grilled a bit longer. Overall though the food was pretty decent. I prefer coming here for happy hour over the main courses. The ambiance is nice and they have a sun room that is great for sunny days.

A pretty solid food option in U Vill, a little higher end but comparable to your other options(like Joeys). 5 stars for the mac n’ cheese 3 – 4 stars for service 2 stars for the soda(it’s like a locally sourced sad version of real coca cola) Details: Came here for a(mid-week) dinner once and Sunday brunch once. Dinner mac n’ cheese(the one with pancetta and peas) was NOMNOMNOM — Beechers cheese is my fave so I didn’t mind paying $ 15 for it. Beet salad was also good. Would order both again — though I was very full since I tried to eat everything and not take home leftovers for some reason. Service was fine though it was pretty busy. Brunch was less exciting. The restaurant was probably less than half filled, but we felt somewhat neglected by our server. I think at one point the bartender(or maybe an expeditor?) visited our table to refill our drinks AND get us the check. Not his job? The croque madame I ordered was a great hangover cure however, and a large portion probably enough to split between two people. Their soda is not worth ordering — the server failed to refill my glass in a timely manner but I almost didn’t care because it tasted like sad soda after you let all the ice melt. My vegetarian friend asked for eggs benedict with no meat/fish. Mind you, there are two benedict options: sausage($ 15) and salmon($ 17). The vegetarian version of the benedict she had was tasty but a really small portion(smaller than your standard benedict order) AND she was charged for the more expensive benedict($ 17) for NO reason. Bummer. It was definitely not a $ 17 plate. I would probably come back again for the mac n’ cheese(and the ambiance is really quite pleasant — garage door walls at the front will probably be up during the summer) but maybe find another place for brunch.

Their happy hour deals are pretty sweet. Especially on Tuesdays when it’s all day happy hour. Only in the bar though. I think they have a rotating cocktail featured during happy hour, but when I went last night, it was the Moscow Mule for $ 5 which couldn’t be more perfect! What a great deal, and I also ordered some mac and cheese for $ 6 as well. YUM! It was the perfect meal. Ambiance is great and the bartenders are friendly. You should check it out if you’re in the area!

I was pretty impressed with Liam’s. We came here at an off-peak time, around 3 pm on a Sunday. They have a nice bar area with TVs, a regular dining area, as well as an atrium-type dining area that looks like it opens up when the weather is nicer. The service we had was great. Our waiter was really attentive and had great attention to detail, doing his best to accommodate any and all special requests we had. The main thing that drew me to this place was the Beecher’s cheese. I am addicted to the stuff, and it features prominently throughout their menus. They also serve Caffe Vita coffee — always a plus in my book. They serve brunch until 3 pm on the weekends, but also give you the weekend lunch menu. I had the house salad to start. It was one of the better house salads I’ve had — very flavorful with a tangy vinaigrette, smoky Beecher’s and butternut squash mixed throughout. I also went with the Beecher’s mac and cheese(of course) and added kale and peppadew peppers to the mix, which went really well with the sauce. It is served piping hot in a large dish, and when it arrived I thought, no way I can finish that. Well… I finished it. Not because I was hungry, but because I have no self-control and it tasted so dang good! Will definitely return to Liam’s — maybe to check out the atrium dining area when the weather gets better.

First time being here! A friend and coworker both recommended this place. And I love trying out new places, so sure, why not. A friend and I shared plates. We ordered porkbelly as our appetitzer. To my surprise, it taste simply amazing. I loved every bite of it. We also ordered prosciutto and peas mac n cheese. The mac n cheese is the beechers cheese. It was pretty good. it was just enough for two people to share! One downfall to this restaurant would be the price. I thought some of the items, or most were a bit overpriced. Otherwise, a great place to hangout, relax and chill with friends over food.

Brunch at Liam’s sounded promising, but it ended up being just an okay experience. This place is owned by the Beacher’s Cheese folks, so its pretty much a temple of cheese. And that my friends, is usually a good thing in my book. Now for breakfast, I reasoned, not a bad bet to get the Croque Madame, especially since it comes with Beacher’s Cheese sauce. This turned out to be a good order. Unfortunately, it came along a side salad that looked fresh and green, but was heavily tossed with mysterious dressing. Surprisingly, the dominant flavor of my salad was pickled. In a green salad, pickled is a little odd, if I’m honest. The salad went untouched, and even my opportunistic fellow diner went in for the kill, and similarly decided: no go. My partner in crime got the pork hash, which came in a cast iron pot. Again, this looked good when it arrived, but the vegetables(sweet potato, etc.) were not softened but a bit chewy, having not been cooked long enough. The coffee service was a disappointment. It arrived dark and inky, but just moments later it turned out the color was just a clever disguise. As we took a sip, it proved watery. Since good coffee is a precursor to a good brunch, we earnestly tried again, but our attempts to get another cup where met with, «Not sure what good that would do, since its all from the same pot.» Unfortunately, they can not do espresso drinks, so it was an impossible situation to remedy. This caffeine addict drank her drug of choice, but sadly, it was not the enjoyable experience I was hoping for, but more a measure of my deep desire to fully wake up. I love Beacher’s cheese, so this review feels a little like sacrilege. I’m not sure what to say, except maybe watery coffee trumps good cheese and just okay brunch.(At least, here in Seattle.)

Just like the rest of University Village, Liam’s is clean, polished and classy! My friend and I lucked out when we stopped by on a Tuesday night and found out that they have all-day happy hour at the bar. Their happy hour menu is concise — they have a few $ 4 to $ 5 drink specials and a small selection of dishes. Since it was our first time at Liam’s, we decided to share the: –Mac and cheese — Nothing too surprising here. If you’ve tried Beecher’s before, you’ll find that this dish is pretty straightforward(but tasty)~ –Kale Caesar salad — We were waffling between the beet salad and kale salad, and we’re glad we went with the kale. Light and refreshing, it went well with the burger :) –Liam’s burger — The highlight of the meal! I loved how they add prosciutto as a little extra something. One question. what in the world is «no woman cheese»??!(haha.) In general, I really liked the ambiance of the restaurant! They have a pretty porch-like dining area off to the left side of the restaurant, which I think you can reserve for private events. After ordering, we also found that the portions are definitely geared more towards individuals vs. sharing. I think I’d like to visit again, keeping that in mind. :)

Visited Liam’s for the first time during Restaurant Week for dinner. The restaurant is located at University Village and is one of the ventures by the folks that brought Beecher’s Cheese to the Seattle dining landscape. I know U Village is monstrous so if you have trouble finding it, look for the restaurant Piatti as it is across the way from here. It is on the QFC side of the mall if you don’t know where that is either. The dining experience starts off differently here. Rather than the typical house bread most places offer, they pour you a sample glass of red wine. It is a wine bar after all. As I was ordering from the $ 30 Restaurant Week menu, I had three choices to choose between for the appetizer, entrée and dessert. My choices were the flagship tomato soup, braised lamb shank and sticky toffee pudding. For the record, according to the website the first two items are available as regular dinner menu options. Though the pudding is not listed. But surely it must appear as a dessert special. The flagship tomato soup contains grated Flagship Beecher’s cheese. The cheese does not overwhelm the soup. The tomato flavor exerts itself here. The one thing I would recommend with the soup is a small piece of bread or perhaps a few pieces of Beecher’s crackers if they want to do some cross promotion. The braised lamb shank was superb. The meat falls off the bone and has a stewish like texture. The lamb does not taste at all gamey. But your mouth might do a double take and wonder whether this is beef. I did also like the fennel side that they include here as it is a good accompaniment for this type of dish. Lastly, the sticky toffee pudding continued the winning ways of this meal. It is a more decadent version of bread pudding with a heavy topping of cream on top. The taste was sweet, but not to the point of toothache like some desserts I have had. The service and ambiance here is nice. It is a good spot for groups and the dark atmosphere makes it ideal as a date spot too. My visits to U Village have become more sporadic since I live on the Eastside and drive around to avoid the 520 toll. Having said that, if I was shopping at U Village or was attending an event at UW, I would consider visiting Liam’s again. They have got a decent happy hour(Tues. all day, daily 3 – 6 pm) here that I want to try in the future.
