This is a Korean bar that my friends and I like to go to when we’re in the area. It’s pretty cheap and satisfies our late night cravings especially when we’re craving Korean food since it’s hard to get in this area. They have flavored soju which is the main reason we go here. Try the yogurt soju, it’s delicious and refreshing! I love all their flavors though. I also usually get this ramean and spicy rice cake dish called Rock-buck-gee in Korean and fried dumplings. The place is small but cozy and the lady that works is super nice. I don’t think she speaks much english so it might be difficult for those that don’t speak Korean but she’s really sweet and friendly so it shouldn’t stop you from trying it!

O’ Lordy, I’ve been attracted to this place since I saw its memorizing neon«Yogurt Soju» sign a year ago. There’s black butcher paper on the windows only spiking my curiosity. I came in here with 8 other folk(oops, kind of took up the whole joint, its teeny but cozy) during our impromptu pub crawl. After my half broken attempt at Korean(– I’m born and raised here, c’mon!), the lady owner was super sweet and let us squish tables together. All of us were confused on Soju: a) not knowing what it was and b.) what size it came in. Answer? Its $ 16 for a pitcher that can easily be split among three people and its $ 11 on M-W. Plus! They hand out tickets so if you eventually get 10 pitchers, you get one free! The Mango is delish but the original Yogurt dances circles on your tastebuds. Spicy food = SPICY but the soju counteracts it nicely. We did crack up when the lady served a vodka cran … with the vodka(grey goose — classy) and cranberry juice on the side. =) Hey, its still easy to mix!

[ points to fellow Unilocaler Eric P. ] He + his gf took me and my boyfriend here! :) I’ve always been curious since a lot of the boyfriend’s friends have talked about it(woah, is it just me or is that one too many ’ friends ’ in that sentence?!) So when Eric + Alishia said they wanted to meet up with us there — it was a most exciting little adventure. Its pretty homey inside — nothing too fancy pancy. I think the owners are a sweet, cute looking little couple. And then we had … soju. A lot of variations of soju. I would recommend the yogurt flavored if you like to taste your alcohol, but if you want something yummy that only has a hint of alcohol — drink pineapple soju! Yum yummy! The food is okay, and the service was friendly and nice(but I credit that to Eric and Alishia being there!). If they ever want to go — I would definitely love to join them again! :D

This is «my bar». This is where I learned to drink. Officially called«Korean Cuisine Corp.» On the streets, it’s «Ggot-mandoo pojang-macha,» which translates to «Flower Dumpling Tent Bar.» Out of all the bars I’ve been to my entire life, I’ve probably been here the most number of times. The owners are a really friendly couple, who greet me by name, always with a smile on their faces. Small 6-table bar that focuses on variations of fruit soju, and side(anjoo) dishes. The place is a neat fusion of old-school Korean, and modern modern pop culture. A large poster of Kobe Bryant on one wall, a tribute to a friend written in Korean, hanging on another. And they’re always playing the newest billboard hits. Being that they are a small bar on the upper Ave, they’re not usually too busy. Perfect for you and a couple of friends to go have a few drinks, and talk about life in a cozy, comfortable and friendly establishment. All of you ladies will love all the fruit soju cocktails they have. I recommend the Yogurt Soju, and Pineapple Soju. Never tried Soju? Be careful with those shots. They’re tasty, but they’ll sneak up on you! Guys, order bottle of strait soju. Just ask for the soju brand«Chaum Chau Rum». No it’s not Rum. The name translates to «Like the First Time», and it’s the cleanest, crispest soju. Order a side of spicy pork, or ask them to make you a «gyuh-ran mari» — it’s sort of like a simple warm egg omellete which is a great complement to the soju… They open late(9:00PM), so it’s a great place to stop by after study session or party. Between 52nd and 55th on University Way. Across the street from Pizza Ragazzi. Look for the neon«open» sign between a garage and a rock wall. When you go, tell them Eric sent you. And hopefully I’ll see you there.

Cute little joint with probably 8 – 10 tables. The Yogurt Soju is AMAZING. A couple of friends and I went late night Friday and split a pitcher. I definitely recommend this place.
