The kind of neighborhood café one wants to support and hopes is good enough to justify that support. The food was very good for a Sunday breakfast of pancakes and their homemade sausage – that is worth the trip alone. The place is small and there is nowhere to wait other than in front of the door. I think the staff is understandably rushed and perhaps short on friendliness due to their not being enough of them to handle the crowds. So, go, and expect a wait, but the food to be worth it.

This little neighborhood spot is one of my favorite places in Seattle and very dear to my heart. There are so many things to love about it: well-made comfort food; fresh/local but never pretentious; strongly active in the community; Michael is just the nicest guy ever; Meatless Mondays/pop-ups; pancakes + non-melon fruit salad; one of the best burgers in town. Most people know Judkins St for brunch, but dinner is where they truly shine. I hate that they are being forced to move. Their current historic building is being torn down for — what else?– more townhouses. As Seattle becomes more sanitized, sterile, and hipster by the day, I’m so glad for our hearts and souls that small businesses like this one are still around. Let’s keep it that way, okay, guys?

Awesome little café in the neighborhood. I come here often and the food is superb. Occasionally, would rate the service as mediocre, but everything else is great.

I’ve had the roasted chicken sandwich and turkey with cranberry sandwich. Both are well prepared on choice bread. One of Seattle’s hidden gems.

Nice quaint, small place with large windows and excellent staff. Reminds me of a neighborhood local’s type place. The food is amazing and the coffee is also great! The gravy on the biscuits and gravy is to die for. This place is my new regular spot. Great job Judkins!

Great place for lunch. If you like spicy, then the habanero ketchup is a must try. I’d recommend the Judkins Burger, really juicy and delicious. Wish the fries were a bit more crispy. I would definitely come back again to try other dishes :)

Menu is not overwhelming, but daily specials always rotating and delicious. Great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Great breakfast sandwiches! All food very delicious! Quality selection of beer, cider, wine, and ice-cream. Not tons of seating, so can get crowded on weekends. They also do to-go orders.

Small quirky café feel. Clearly aimed at locals of the neighborhood(some ppl knew the owner who was also serving/helping out). We went there for Bfast at 9AM on a Saturday. Not much of a line at the time but the place did fill up fairly quickly. Service seemed slow and the food was just OK. We got the big breakfast and the egg skillet special. Both were cooked ok but nothing special. Flavors were muted and the quality of ingredients were under-whelming. I’m not sure why it has that many reviewers and a such a strong review. Maybe if I lived right in the area, it would be a worthy convenience. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Execution: Definitely just ok. I got a skillet and my egg yolks were completely cooked through. Lots of grease on the side of home fries with very little flavor. Tabasco and salt/pepper to the rescue. If you are looking for large portions of breakfast food in a plain Jane kind of way this is your spot. Not sure why this place gets 4 stars, other than its the only option in the neighborhood. Would guess its a locals favorite. Creativity: Dishes are standard American fair; eggs, pancakes, french toast. Presentations were basic and lacking in creativity and offerings as well were very plain. Limited menu with ~10 items to choose from. Service: Seat yourself kind of place and hope the waiter has a chance to get you water and take an order within 15 minutes of sitting down. Definitely on the short-staffed side Atmosphere: Nice little café in a quiet neighborhood. Seating and accommodations were basic

Cute café a little off the beaten path. It was busy on a Saturday at 10:30 but we did manage to get seated immediately. The eggs were delicious but I wasn’t completely taken with the Brioche French Toast — it was dry and I wanted it to be more eggy. Home fries were amazing. The service was not so great, our waitress seemed like she didn’t want to be there or else was just stressed. Not super attentive or friendly.

Cute little breakfast place around the neighborhood. Service was friendly and the décor was homey. They serve bottomless coffee as well. Good place to grab Sunday breakfast because the food looks fresh! Do come in early though as the line gets long closer to brunch time. Unless you just want to order to go, you should avoid coming at that time. This is especially true if you are going with a bigger group of people.

This place is a favorite for sure– Come in during breakfast hours(is always pretty full when I come) for some big portions and delicious options, or(my favorite) come during the early evening and try the daily special or the pulled-pork sandwich(hungry just thinking about it). The dinner server is a super sweet girl that’s very knowledgeable and has obviously eaten the food enough to be able to talk about it and make it sound delicious. A winner in my book! Consider me a regular.

Great simple cooking for brunch! Our party of three had smoked salmon scramble, veggie scramble with a side of the homemade sausage, and the grits and eggs with shrimp and a side of French toast. Generous mimosas to cap off a great brunch. Our waitress was really sweet and accommodating, one hostess was ok maybe had a rough night. Overall a great neighborhood joint.

What’s weird are all the negative post I love this place. While dealing with the death of my dad their service was great. The midday server appeared to have a poor disposition, but I realized that was her. She was okay. I LOVETHEFOOD! I’m from Cali and appreciated the food. The big breakfast is my fave. Just try it… At the end of the day you get to experience Beth(chef) & Michael(owner)!! There are other options as well.

You wouldn’t think much of this place driving by their humble exterior. In fact, it’s rather easy to miss as it’s tucked in a residential neighborhood. My bf and I came here on a Friday afternoon(around 11am) and it was about halfway full. There isn’t much seating, but we were fortunate to grab a table before the rush came. The breakfast menu is pretty limited, which I appreciate… since you don’t have a hundred different options, it makes it pretty easy to pick what you want. I wasn’t too hungry so I just ordered their breakfast sandwich. My bf ordered the big breakfast which consisted of sausage, eggs, toast, and grits. My breakfast sandwich was pretty darn tasty. I didn’t care too much for the bread they used… I prefer the standard english muffin over the brioche bread that they used. Other than that, great sandwich. My bf’s grits were exceptional. I would have just ordered a bowl of their stone ground grits had I known how good they were. I tried his sausage and it lacked flavor… but, I believe they make their own sausage here and don’t use preservatives and all that crazy, no-good-for-you stuff… so, of course it doesn’t taste like a Jimmy Dean sausage. Friendly staff. Service is a little slow so come here when you’re not in a rush. I’d totally go back again. I love the feel of this place and the food was, overall, good.

Although I live about 5mins away, but its my first time coming to this Café since its kinda hidden. When I first went in, there was only 1 table and I was the 2nd. The girl was pretty nice but she doesn’t have much smile so I guess she’s having a rough start for today. Since I got the groupon deal, I ordered quite a lot for one person! I had the big breakfast; 3 eggs, bacon and potatoes(I did tell her I want to sub with grits but I guess she missed it) and 2 pancakes. The breakfast was nothing special, I like how the bacon is over cooked, so its not so greasy and crunchy. The sunny side ups were good, nothing special about them. The potatoes, which were supposed to be grits which I asked to sub, were pretty good. The had a little seasoning on it but since I did asked to sub with grits, I took out one star for this. I should have told the girl, but since she was always behind the counter, and didn’t come to check on me, I didn’t bother to bring this up. The most I like about this place is the orange butter-cream for the pancakes!!! Not sure if you can see it from my photos, but they are really good. It’s creamy with a kick of an orange taste. Would I come back here again, maybe.
