Felt like checking this place out, since I hadn’t been in a while. But if this is the new standard of friendliness, I’m out. I get that it’s kinda boring and slow when you work evenings, but a part of your job is to at least act like you don’t dislike it. And when someone asks a question about your menu, the best response is to tell them without mumbling an answer in a bored tone. If I can’t hear you the first two times, you should speak up and say it more clearly. Sorry I can’t hear well. Did that inconvenience you? When I initially walked in, I wasn’t greeted for an awkward half minute or so. Which hey, that happens. But another customer had been there before I arrived, and he hadn’t been greeted, either. Turns out he was waiting on an online order that hadn’t been started yet. The employee had to look it up to realize it existed. But sure, mistakes happen. I’m asked a question about my sandwich. I answer. Sandwich gets made; it’s wrong. I apologize and say no, I didn’t want those extra toppings. I get a look of silent acknowledgment, and no hint of an apology. I just get to wait more minutes while the new sandwich gets made. Almost in slow motion. Had enough time to get bored and check my phone to see what time it was. When I finally got the sandwich, I felt like it’d been ten minutes for my one sub. The one friendly thing I heard was«have a nice evening.» Well, sure. I’ll do my best, now that I missed my bus. The sandwich is good, though. PS: Cold subs only at this location.

I was *very* impressed by this little sub shop downtown. Of course I have to say that they won my heart pretty much after the first bite because they season their subs exactly the way I do at home… I got their Club Supreme and was surprised how flavorful and ample the sandwich was. I do like that they slice the meat right in front of you! I will certainly choose this place over other sub shops downtown from now on. Apparently they deliver as well, so this makes it even easier to want to go back. Prices were reasonable and the shop apparently is less than a year old, so still looks very fresh and new. I highly recommend this little gem!

I think the low ratings are from first-timers who were expecting something else. For those who haven’t been before: Jersey Mike’s specializes in high-quality deli subs. The tested staple is the Turkey sub done Mike’s Way. While the flavor is relatively bland compared to some other sandwich varietals, the quality of each ingredient is high — fine meats, great bread, fresh veggies. I like the Jersey Mike’s taste and prefer to taste high quality common ingredients over spices or sauces. Jersey Mike’s is a high step above your average sub shop(e.g. Subway or Jimmy John’s). As a longtime Jersey Mike’s vet, I was ecstatic to learn of the opening of the two downtown Seattle locations. I’ve been to this location several times and have been very happy with the service, speed, cleanliness, and freshness of the ingredients. This location has some special on Tuesdays(I think double stamps?), and there’s also a promo where you get a couple bucks off a giant if you grab it on a weekday after a certain time.

Not sure why the low rating… 1st time at a Jersey Mike’s and my server was very friendly, upbeat and he explained my options well. The sandwich, #7 turkey & provolone, tasted great. Fresh veggies & meat. The price was comparable to the chain sandwich shop across the street. Over all a great experience.

The Italian sandwich wasn’t that great, even with all the goods. Nothing out of the ordinary that would make me come back. The price was on the steep end. I went on a slow day and the workers were not happy to be there.

My first time here and I will definitely be back! Not only was the staff totally awesome, the sub was amazing! I judge a sub shop on their Italian sub, if it’s not good, I don’t go back. The #13 was sooooo good. The manager was awesome. All of the guys were polite. I can see becoming a regular here! Great job! I’d give them 10 stars if I could!

it’s not horrible. i was shocked how bad the review are. it’s a totally different take on the subs i used to get a jimmy john’s before they banned patrons from getting the bread guts on the side. in the long, dreary fall/winter/spring seasons of seattle, it would be prudent to offer hot subs. on your first visit they give you a cookie!

Not a great sandwich I tried for the price I paid. My experience here was a little disappointing in spite of its hype when it first opened. I have yet to try the Jersey Mike’s on 1st Ave to see if it’s just the sub or the way it was made, but until then I’ll admit this place is really 2 stars. I ordered a Turkey and Provolone sandwich on Rosemary Cheddar bread, made in their signature style which included shredded lettuce, tomato, onion, salt and pepper and oil and vinegar. To me, it sounds like a Subway sandwich, except it tasted like a knockoff of it. Seriously, it had almost no flavor except the vinegar that soaked my buns. Awwww man :(Most of all, I paid $ 8 for it. Noise level and customer service were really good, and I was treated very nicely. If the sandwiches were was good as the employee’s I would come back, but it wasn’t, so peace out.

This place gets 2 stars for the quality of the food, but 4 stars for the fantastic customer service I received. I walked in one night, completely exhausted after work, hoping to get a large sandwich to split for dinner that night and lunch at work the next day. I’m usually pretty wary of large chain sandwich shops, since I have gotten sick from Subway before(not to mention the horror stories I’ve heard about their cleanliness since!) Even though by this point of the evening I was almost unresponsive, Lee did a GREAT job of being friendly, fast, and selling the sandwich. He found out it was my first time there and offered me a free cookie, and I walked away with a buy-one-get-one-free coupon. He offered to wrap each half of the sandwich individually for me because I was splitting it into two meals, all with a smile on his face. Good job! As for the sandwich itself, it wasn’t anything special, simply because the ingredients used to make it were lackluster. The bread is dry, and the lettuce is still that crappy shredded iceberg lettuce you find at other sub shops. There are also basically no options for vegetarians — I’m sorry, but who would want a sandwich with just shredded lettuce, a piece of tomato, and a slice of bell pepper for $ 8.75? In short, I’ll almost definitely be back on those days when I’m too tired to cook or forgot to prepare something for work the next day, but I wouldn’t bring my friends here or seek it out otherwise.

It was just alright for me. First time trying this restaurant. They do freshly slice cheese and meat in front of you which is nice, but what’s kind of scary is they use the same cutter for both. I am trying to stay away from dairy and it bothered me a bit. The sandwich making station also… I am not saying it’s not sanitary, but the way certain sandwiches are made — there are lots of juices and liquids that fall out of them… oil, vinegar, etc. They do clean it off with the knife between sandwiches, but I don’t know. It didn’t look right to me. Anyway, Their wheat bread wasn’t very good… and the sandwich was very expensive. Medium size was close to 9 dollars and it’s definitely smaller than Subway footlong, just to give you an idea.

My first and only experience with Jersey Mike’s Subs wasn’t an awful jaw dropping experience, but it just wasn’t good. I walk in and look at the menu. I was confused from the very beginning. The menu says«Mike’s Way is on all cold subs» but I couldn’t find anything other than cold subs(I was expecting to see a cold sub and a hot sub menu). Are some of their subs hot they just don’t tell you? Or do you know that they are cold subs if they have Mike’s Way in the description. But that can’t be it because I ordered a cold sub that didn’t say Mike’s Way. So the start of the counter in line is their meat display. I see them cutting fresh meat. Sandwiches with fresh cut meat are always delicious so I am getting excited. But then I look inside the case. The meat display had the opposite effect than what it should. The meats look like the cheap meat at the deli counter. The ham made me think of formed ham or what Oscar Myer’s lunch meat ham probably looks like before it’s sliced(you know the square one with the rounded corners). The turkey didn’t look like turkey, I can’t even explain what it looked like in it’s package. It was all looked the equivalent to government cheese. It honestly was super unappealing [See pic]. Alright, my turn is coming up and I notice people order«size, number, bread». I am looking everywhere to find a bread list. It’s seriously, not listed anywhere, I had to ask what kind of bread they have. If you’re curious they have white, wheat, and rosemary parmesan white bread. I opted for the rosemary parmesan. I also have to point out the guy who was taking orders, cutting meat and the bread was super nice and friendly and by far the best thing about my experience. Up to the topping station. I was listening to the guy in front of my order. He wanted everything on it by jalapenos. This place must really shove«Mike’s Way» down their employees throats.(Mike’s Way is onions, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Vinegar, Oil and Spices) The lady on the topping station wasn’t able to wrap her mind around everything for some reason. She asked«So you want Mike’s Way?». The guy looked at her confused so she explained to him what Mike’s Way was. He replied«yes, I want everything.» There was still a bit of confusion, but it finally got sorted. While he was paying I noticed she put on jalapenos but forgot the peppers. He must of noticed she forgot the peppers because he asked if she got them on. She ended up just giving him a little side cup. I honestly wanted everything but jalapenos too, so that’ what I asked for, exactly like that. She again asked if I wanted Mike’s Way. It wasn’t as much of an ordeal as the other guy but I just let her know, yes I want everything. She had no care putting these sandwiches together. Just tossing things on, drenching them in oil and vinegar. The sandwich just became more unappealing to eat. They only have pepsi products so I opted for no drink and just purchased my sandwich and a bag of chips. From the perceived quality of their sandwiches, I was a bit taken back that my regular #13 The Original Italian(Provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni) and a bag of chips was $ 10.99 before tip. I payed and headed back to work. When I opened up my sandwich it looked like I ordered extra oil. I was a bit scared to eat my sandwich at this point. I took a bite, and was not a fan. I just don’t think the meats went well together. So I opened up the sandwich and decided to eat everything separately. The meats themselves weren’t as bad as I was expecting. Though I did not find the meats super delicious(I love sliced deli meats and could probably eat a whole meal of it if it’s good). The bread was absolutely flavorless. In the end, I ate the meat and the banana peppers and threw the rest away.

I can’t believe this place. The prices are high and the food is mediocre at best. I think they should remove the Jersey from the name and put Utah or Idaho instead of Jersey because Jersey needs a better representation.

OK sandwiches. They treat their employees like dirt, so if that’s the kind of business you like to support, bon appetite!

Jersey Mike is doing it in downtown Seattle! Thanks, you are even closer to my office from the one on 1st& Pike. Guess Ill have to go there for lunch more often. New store that opened up last week… food is quite consistent on quality and flavor. I do enjoy their subs very much. I had a coupon for a free chips & drink today too! Thanks for that Jersey Mike! I like the fact that they have a loyalty program where you enter your phone # and can earn free items along the way. Always good to have that to keep me coming back. Store is new, the crew there seems to be still in training, so be patient with them and dont be a a-hole as they work through the minor kinks. They are very nice and helpful. Anyways, a good lunch spot to eat at. Dining room isnt too big so you may have to take it back to your desk and eat it there while surfing Unilocal and Yahoo. Happy lunch’n!
