Jeffrey Dodson, DDS

Dodson is definitely, without a doubt, the best dentist I’ve ever had. He successfully cuts through the inevitable dental anxiety with friendliness and a great, quirky sense of humor (my personal favorite being when he launches into impromptu songs, improvising lyrics on the spot that reflect what’s happening at that exact moment — hilarious).
Super grateful to have had him recommended to me.

I’ve been Dr. Dodson’s patient for more than 6 years now and I love him. He does great job, always make you comfortable during any dental works he needs to do for me. And he always makes me laugh. I admire his simplicity. He used the old fashion tools and gadget, no computerized monitor everywhere, but he had proven that to be a great dentist, he doesn’t need the latest state of the art tools. Most other dentists have dental assistant, his assistant mostly doing administrative & billing work, not really helping during dental procedure. Which in many ways really impressive. He can handle it all, and always handle it well.
He is one of a kind… His basement Office is definitely different, but that what makes it homey. I will recommend Dr. Dodson to anyone who would like a great down to earth dentist who will provide you a great care for your teeth. If you are looking a high-​tech ‘robotic’ dental office, you may not be satisfied with what Dr. Dodson offers.

I’ve only been seeing him for a year for my 6-​month cleanings and got a filling done, but he is great! Everyone fears the awkwardness and the lack of comfort you get from sitting on the chair for a good hour or two, but he’s always tried to minimize both of these.
Some dentists are pretty rough on the gums when it comes to the picking and the flossing (which can be especially uncomfortable if you haven’t been flossing regularly), but he is pretty understandable of this and was very gentle. This was what it was like when I went to my first cleaning, but he recommended that if I increased my flossing to thee or four times a week, he guaranteed that the process next time would be less painful. And he was right! The second cleaning was quick because of his tips!
When I got my filling replaced, I thought he did a wonderful and thorough job. He made sure I was numb around the area he was going to work on so that I wouldn’t feel any pain. And after he replaced the filling, he made sure that my bite was good and smooth.
I think the only strange thing was that his office is located at the bottom of a private home. His office only has one chair and it’s really just him and his assistant, who helps with the billing and scheduling. So if you think you’re lost when you’re trying to find his office, no worries — it’s just a little different from what you’d expect from a dental clinic. I know that I’m the first to write a review about him on Unilocal,but I’ve read reviews from others on other sites and there are people who have been seeing him for years just because he does such a wonderful job! The only thing is that his work might be a little pricey, but if you have insurance, it should be all good!
