Import Service Center

When your car needs to get fixed, the whole process of finding a good shop can become a headache. My friend recommended Import Service Center to fix my 2002 VW Jetta. I’ve brought my car in twice now, the first time for a new clutch and most recently for a tune up and coil replacement. I am so pleased with the service I received! They are honest and wont try to sell you something isn’t necessary. They also beat all other shops price quotes. Happy to have found a shop I want to bring my car in when something goes wrong. Oh! Both times, my car has been in and out same day!

The ignition on my truck was stuck on Tuesday morning when I was out picking up lumber. After ½ hour of jiggling, I finally got it started and was able to limp into Import Service Center. I explained my situation to Jim and he said he would try to get me going and fit me in somewhere to an already filled schedule. I spoke to Jim at the end of the day and he said he would stay after hours to get my truck running so that I could have it to work the next day. I got there just before 7 and Jim was there, the truck was ready to go. He went the extra mile for me. I echo what others have said here — they left me feeling cared for and happy.

I have been going here for years. I second another reviewer, honest, reasonable price. Over the years they have tended to the family Toyota, Honda and Mazda, and always left us feeling well cared for and happy.

Needed a mechanic and these guys had good reviews. They fixed my car without trying to sell me a million other things. I didn’t feel like they were trying to dupe me and spoke to me just like everyone else. I appreciate that a lot because being a girl and looking for a mechanic that won’t undermined you is important. They even fixed my key for me free of charge! Definitely my new mechanic.

We have been using Jim and his crew at Import Service Center for 20 years. They are totally and completely trustworthy, helpful, kind and technically perfect. Our adult children take their cars there now… NO reason to go anywhere else. I feel like they have become friends.

These folks are honest and good at what they do. They charge the appropriate fee for services rendered and usually work around my schedule as best they can. I recommend them. Don’t worry about them taking advantage it’s not that kind a place. A friend recommended them years ago and I’m glad he did. I usually bring my wife’s car in for service when work needs done and they get it done quickly in a professional manner.

My 2002 VW Beetle has been «sick» as of late and they’ve been nothing but wonderful every time I’ve had to go in. Same with my husband when the Brake Booster failed on his 2007 VW Beetle. They’re honest and don’t price gouge you either — which is a rarity in this field.

I would HIGHLY recommend this shop! A couple of weeks ago, my alternator went out on my Nissan Frontier at Green Lake. These guys came to the rescue by coming to the truck a few blocks away (!), jumping the battery, quickly and honestly diagnosing the issue, and replacing the alternator — all within my tight schedule, inexpensively, and with superlative customer service. There’s a good reason (s) they’ve been in business as long as they have. As someone who’s generally mistrustful (once bitten, twice shy) of mechanics, I wouldn’t take my truck anywhere else in the area.

This place was recommended to me by the person I purchased a vehicle from. I was told the car needed a repair and the original owner was quoted $ 330 for it at this shop. I called a day in advance before bringing the car in and so was expecting a smooth transaction. The guy on the phone was really nice and was familiar with the car. The car did end up having to stay overnight because they didn’t have one of the parts they needed. Kind of annoying, but not a huge deal. The problem is when I picked the car up and was shocked by a nearly $ 600 bill. The man behind the desk, who I’m not sure was the man I spoke to on the phone, shrugged it off when I asked about the original owner’s quote and what my bill was. I paid the bill and left. I don’t think the guy behind the desk even smiled or said thank you, he just seemed bothered by the fact that he had to be there or something.
Obviously, I had no choice but to pay the bill, but still couldn’t help but feel like I kind of got overcharged here. In the course of talking to several friends about the situation, many of them mechanics, they expressed their lack of surprise – the labor I was charged for was really high for the job performed.
So, won’t be returning.

I read about these guys in an article in the seattle times a few years ago. The times did an experiment and took cars that didn’t need repairs to dozens of repair shops asking for a specific repair. Only a handful told them they didn’t need it, this place was one of the few that was honest. I agree with this, I have been very pleased with the service. Other members of our family have used them for several years and have never been unhappy. I am also very appreciative that they are open at 7am for early drop off.

Honest and Reasonable price. What else do you want from an excellent mechanic who has been around for many years!!!

These guys always turn me away. I have a problem and they want 5 hours just to open the hood. I need my car throughout the day, and losing a day before even knowing if there’s anything wrong is simply unacceptable. When I go to another shop, they’re happy to open to hood and take a look. Time and convenience are paramount, Import Service Center fails on my most important requirements. Also, when I tell the owner about the car problem, the attitude is, «OK, we’ll I can’t do anything about it, I’ll have to have one of my goons take a look.» It’s frustrating dealing with a company that makes giving them your business difficult.

I love Import Service Center and have recommend the shop to quite a few people. Honest, reliable, hard working and friendly! I particularly love Jim, but don’t tell my boyfriend! I have been going there for years, and frankly wouldn’t go anywhere else. They took such great care of my Ghia and are taking equally great care of my little Miata! Thanks men!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Jim was absolutely fantastic. He is the next best thing to having my Dad around! He told me my car would be like new when I picked it up, and he was right. He’s trustworthy, honest, friendly, and professional and I will definitely be coming back next time I need work done.

Jim at Import Service Center is the best. I lost my job and I’d been going there for years, and had to get a full manual transmission, and he gave me a great deal. He’s got negotiating room — don’t push it, though, he doesn’t overcharge in the first place! Way better prices, and just as good service as a dealership — FYI I have a 99 Subaru wagon.

THese guys are great!!! Jim is a great guy as well as the rest of the guys that work there. I have been to alot of shopps in my time and none of them are as honest and down to earth as they are here. I dont even own an import and they do great work on it. I would reccomend this shop to every one I know.

We have been going to Jim at Import Service Center since 1992. He somehow kept my VW van alive beyond what would be expected. Now we’re grown up and he takes care of my Subaru with as much care. They are also helpful when it comes to buying a used car, as they will give an honest assessment about whether it’s a good deal.

Based on a recommendation from my Porsche mechanic, I took my 1971 Beetle here for service. I purchased the car with no service records, from a somewhat unreliable former owner.
I told them to change the oil, spark plugs, and anything else they saw fit. I explained that I have a young child, and I wanted the car to be safe.
Well they could have taken me to the cleaners if they wanted to. But they didn’t. They simply did what I asked, checked the car out well, and replaced a few cables and hoses. When I got the car back, it ran better, and my bill was more than reasonable.
Based on my first experience with them, I would absolutely use them again.

I have brought my car there for over 13 years. I even brought it there when I lived rather far away.
They are thoughtful, honest and careful.
It is a small shop, and popular so you may hae to wait a few days.
They treat everyone extremely nicely. The owner is at times in the shop and works just like anyone else.
