Bun Bo Hue here is sooooo good! Broth is full flavored, not overly salty, meat to noodle ratio is about 2:1, and the level of spiciness errs on the side of mouth-burning — just the way I like it. The restaurant is tiny, sort of ghetto, and the Vietnamese music is blaring but this is how they do it in Vietnam so this place is the most authentic you’re gonna get.

Love their Vietnamese dishes. So flavorful! Their best known dish is Bun Bo Hue(noodles soup from the central Vietnam). But you should definitely try other dishes they have. One of the best places to eat Vietnamese food in Seattle in my opinion. The restaurant is small. But I don’t mind too much cause each of the table has enough room between them that when the another table behind you getting seated, they won’t bump into you or your chair…(anyone else gets so annoyed when you’re eating and enjoying your food and people getting in their seats just bumping into your chair without saying excuse me?!?) There are parking spaces in the back of the restaurant, if you park here, you can enter through their back door(weird, I know). But if not, you can park at the complex’s parking lot or the one across the street(Cajun Craw Fish parking lot) and walk over. It’s not that long of a walk. The staff are always quick and very friendly. Always smiling. Definitely one of my top recommendations for Vietnamese food.

Bun bo hue is good here. We also order a side of egg rolls To go and it came out piping hot. The reason I took a star off is because of the service. This is a small mom and pop shop but they sure know what they are doing.

Everyone gets the bun bo hue here but I decided to get the Hu Tieu which was pretty good as well. I hear people rave about the bun bo hue so I would probably try that if I came back.

Food is great here. Love the spicy bun bo hue(one of my favorite foods) and I have never found a better place. Broth is spicy and flavorful and the veggie plate it comes with is refreshing. Comes with a decent amount of meat also. In terms of cleanliness, I think it has improved over the years but was not the best before. Also not the best location.

This isn’t a place you would necessarily stumble upon, nor is it a place that you would«decide to try.» But if you’re viet and/or a fan of Bun Bo Hue, then you got to be in the know that this is THE place for BBH, if ya don’t know, now ya know! It’s a very small shop, that can hold maybe 25 people at best. Parking could be a hassle as well as there are small lots around but always busy. But if you can make the trek and find a spot, the broth is clean tasting bursting with flavor. The pork blood is fresh and not chalky tasting, the meats are tender and melt in your mouth, the ham hock is a little small but just enough to nibble on afterwards. No MSG after taste. Just a happy warm and full belly. I’ll definitely be back for more!

I love the BBH here. I live pretty far from here so it would be a heaven to me to have it more frequently. The only down side of this is they only take cash. So be prepare for that.

The 5 stars is strictly for the food. This place is in the hood and you park in the back(through the Safeway and Bank of America parking lots) and go through the back entrance of the restaurant — you may feel like you’re breaking in but it’s a part of the experience. I’ve come here many times and not once does it disappoint. Hangover cures comes in many forms here but I stick to the spicy bun bo hue — warning it’s sweat inducing. If I feel like something not as spicy I go for the amazing phở. The broth is so flavorful and milky. Probably my top phở place in WA. Last but not least always get the banh bot loc(the shrimp in the starchy wrap). I seriously love it here. For 2 small bowls of noodle soup and banh bot loc it’s $ 20!!! How can you beat that? You’ll be so stuffed for two people. Sure this place is super ghetto and in the ghetto but it’s worth the bullet wound if you’re in the area.

We appreciated everything about this place. GF got the best bowl of Bun Bo Hue she’s ever had, the cook is from Hue, which explains a lot. I on the other hand got the Mi Quang which was off the chart tasty, I added some hot chili oil, it was really spicy! I look forward to trying the Bun Bo Hue next week. Almost forgot, the coffee was perfect to boot. I tried the Phở another visit, can’t recommend it, kind of bland broth, not much meat, not much noodle. Bun Bo Hue is their specialty and should be the go to soup here.

This place is known for their bun bo hue. And there is no reason they shouldn’t be. Their best bun bo hue is some of the best I’ve ever had! Their broth is perfectly seasoned and spiced, if you want more spice they accommodate with chili paste on the side. It has a nice variety of meat in the bowl which I like. It includes meatball, blood cake, brisket and pork knuckles with rice noodles. The vegetables they give you is cabbage, bean sprouts, some type of onion I believe, limes and jalapeños. I always ask for extra limes! I also tried their bun rieu and I didn’t expect the broth to be so light! The tomato flavor is prominent but it’s not a bad thing. It’s served with vermicelli noodles, shrimp, crab and some type of meatball. It was my first time having bun rieu so I didn’t have anything to compare it to but I thought it was good! The banh bot loc is so good too! It comes out warm and the fish sauce that is served with it is really good. Sometimes their service is sub-par. They won’t pay much attention to you after you’ve ordered and sometimes I feel like I have to hunt someone down even when it’s not busy. I would park in the plaza parking lot next to it because there’s no street parking near there!

Bun bo hue and banh bot loc are great here! The banh bot loc has a satisfying chewy consistency and it’s packed with lots of shrimpy flavor. It goes well with the dipping sauce. I’m in love! Plus it’s a great hand work out because sometimes they’re difficult to eat with chopsticks lol… The bun bo hue is full of lots of different meats, and comes with their housemade meat balls which are very good. The broth is spicy but you might wanna ask for extra spicy(I personally tend to add more chili oil) and goes well with limes. The broth isnt as deep as it looks but it doesn’t bother me since the whole meal itself is very heavy in meat. I feel as though if the broth is any deeper, the mineraly meatness would just be overwhelming. I find it balanced! The service is inconsistent. One woman in particular wasn’t so kind to us and treated us different than her other customers. But this other younger woman and this man were very kind. Definitely a place to try for really good bun bo hue and banh bot loc… I hope you get good service! Bring cash!

So yummy. I just get the bun Bo hue with out the pork hock. I grew up going here. If you don’t mind seeing the kitchen and how cluttered it is, you should def come here to try! Plus… The last 2 times I’ve been here, I’ve seen a Vietnamese celebrity! Hehe.

This place is popular for their bun bo hue but I get the mi quang almost every time. Seriously my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Seattle. It doesn’t look desirable from the outside, you can totally walk by it and not think about eating there but once you try their food it’s so addicting! The only soup they that I didn’t like was their bun rieu because it was very fishy and made me nauseous. But other than that I cannot say anything bad about any other foods. Also, the staff are very nice people. They always accommodate to everything that I ask for and my food always come out the way I asked them to be. A lot of places that I’ve been to would usually forget things like no peanuts. And this place is always busy, no matter what time we go in, but I’ve never waited for more than a couple minutes for a table so it’s never a problem.

We’re in the middle of a heat wave and all I want for dinner is bun. And some banh loc lot. My BF had a rice dish. The bun did not have as many veggies as I would have liked. Kind of disappointing. Nevertheless, it was a refreshing bowl of cold vermicelli noodles. I opted for grilled pork and egg rolls. Pork was just OK. The banh loc lot was so fresh! They were pleasantly chewy. This place is not the cleanest. And I kept hearing a lady sneeze in the kitchen. Yuck. I might come back someday for bun bo hue since that is what they’re known for. Cash only.

Probably one of the best Bun Bo Hues in Seattle. The broth is deep and flavorful with a good amount of spiciness. They also give you lots of noodles, and a decent amount of meat, blood cake, and veggies. The pig foot could be cooked a little longer though; it’s a little too hard still. The Hu tieu and various types of com tams are solid choices as well. The banh bot loc is good too, but beware of «eyes larger than your stomach.» The owners are always really nice and friendly, but it’s cash only. Pro tips — You can only get a large when ordering take out. Take out orders are typically ready in less than 5 – 10 mins. Park in the back by the Safeway and enter through the super sketchy and grimey handled back door, walk past the bathroom and into the dining area. Real hood shit. Rumor has it that the phở spot around the corner upstairs in the plaza is the sister of Hoang Lan’s owner. They have similar tasting Bun Bo Hue and give you lots of veggies as well, so I alternate between Hoang Lan and that place.

I came here from all the rave reviews for Bun Bo Hue. I ordered Bun Bo Hue(spicy beef noodle soup) and Chao Tom(sugar cane shrimp). Chao Tom was not very good. It had too much stuff mixed in with shrimp. I won’t order this here again. But I am not going to ding them for this dish since it is not their specialty. As for Bun Bo Hue, it’s not the best I’ve had, but it will definitely satisfy my Bun Bo Hue craving. it could be the best in WA tho I haven’t tried Phở So 1 yet. The broth was flavorful but not spicy as I like even tho i ordered it spicy. The beef, cha, pork leg was good. Best Bun Bo Hue I’ve had was in CA. In Bolsa(Little Saigon in SoCal), Thanh Vi was the best I’ve ever had but the restaurant is not around anymore. The owner retired. In the Bay Area, go to New Camau and Bun Bo Hue An Nam.

3 stars overall. After reading all these awesome reviews about how their Bun Bo Hue is the best, I had to go and check it out. CASHONLY! What I ordered: Banh Bot Loc, a sticky type of shrimp dumpling in clear wrapping… with a fish sauce dip. Very fresh tasting and above average with a hint of chewiness that makes it good. 4 stars. Chao Long, a rice soup with a side dish of intestines, pork blood, liver and other insides… a bit bland as it needed additional ginger and cilantro. seems to me something is missing. 3.4 stars Bun Bo Hue, definitely not the best I ever tasted, I still choose Phở So 1’s version. The broth’s darker colors are misleading and lacks the depth of flavor when I compare these two bowls. 3.2 stars. Conclusion: I do not agree that Hoang Lan has the best BBH.

Best bun bo hue in Seattle. Very authentic and comes with all the right condiments. Good portions!!! Love this place!!!
