First off, please do not listen to the reviewer Mishey, who could not have characterized Kevin any more incorrectly, and seems intent on simply defaming good businesses. As a pet owner I’m incredibly sensitive to dogs left in cars, but I can say with absolute certainty that Kevin would never allow one of the dogs under his care to be uncomfortable. Moreover, he’s one of the gentlest, most thoughtful people I’ve ever met, and her description of him as belligerent and threatening to sue in no way jives with who he really is. This is a Unilocal troll, pure and simple.
So let’s talk about the positives:
I’ve known Kevin for a little over a year now, and the care he’s delivered for our dog has been exceptional. Our dog is part of «the pack» who goes to the dog park 5 days a week. Every day he comes home with a smile on his face. We used to board our dog with Downtown Dog Lounge when we would go out of town, but our dog really thrives on human interaction, and so we began boarding with Kevin since it’s someone he already knew and he’d get that personal attention. We trust Kevin implicitly to provide this care and he’s never let us down. Many times he’s gone out of his way to accommodate us, and we really couldn’t ask for a better caregiver.
If you’re looking for pet care in the Ballard area I can’t recommend him enough.

You will be hard pressed to find better care for your dog, for both walks/​day care and overnight stays. Kevin is conscientious and thorough. You can tell that he just loves all dogs. I don’t trust anyone else with my dog.

Kevin was an indispensable part of my dog’s life when my wife and I lived in Seattle. It’s always so hard to know if you’re getting your money’s worth with a dog walker, but sometimes on my wife’s days off she would see Kevin with his pack in the dog park. He was fully engaged with all the dogs with him that day, and if my dog, Mugs, went over to him Kevin would say hi even though Mugs wasn’t with the pack that day.
We used Kevin for boarding a few times as well, and he’s more than competitive with a larger operation. But with Kevin we knew Mugs was getting individual attention and a park visit every day. Most other boarding facilities will charge you extra for things like walks.
As if being an excellent dog walker and sometimes boarder wasn’t enough, Kevin and High 5 literally saved my dog’s life. Mugs had eaten an entire bottle of Vitamin D that I left on the kitchen counter, which could have killed him. My wife was at work with her phone off, and I was out of town. By texting with me and enlisting the aid of his friend, Kevin was able to get Mugs to a veterinarian and treated.

When we took a rescue dog into our care more than five years ago and needed occasional spot walks when we were out of town, the first person we considered was Kevin and High5 Pet Service.
Since we knew him, he wouldn’t even take payment the first time we needed him under emergency circumstances and very short notice. We continue to use his services because he is flexible, rates are extremely reasonable and he is a small local business we want to support in our community.
Our beast dog doesn’t warm up to just anyone, but he knew Kevin was a dog person, has looked forward to his walks with Kevin and comes back happy each and every time.
It turns out that Kevin has also walked another dog on our block and those owners loved using him too. I know this from speaking to them directly.
I have known Kevin for more than seventeen years, worked with him for ten and have followed his business development since the beginning. I knew he would make a fantastic pet professional from seeing him care for his own dog back when we worked together in a previous situation. He is dependable, trustworthy and absolutely terrific with animals of all stripes.
I cannot recommend Kevin highly enough. If you want what is best for your pet, use High5 Pet Service.

I trust High5 and Dog’s Day Out and that is pretty much it. Seriously. I do not trust people with my dog. Yes, I know he is a dog and not a baby, but that doesn’t change the fact that not everyone should take care of animals (or babies for that matter). Kevin is caring, I trust him to have keys to my home and treat my dog like I would treat my dog. 5 stars!

I’ve had multiple dog walkers in the past for my admittedly high maintenance pair of Brussels Griffons. Kevin is by far the best we’ve had and we can tell he genuinely cares about our little guys. He’s reliable, trustworthy, and his fees are very reasonable. He’s a good communicator and always updates us if he feels something is up with our boys — whether one of them seems sluggish or potty habits seem out of norm. I would definitely recommend!

Kevin was amazing with my dog, Luna. She was always excited to see him when he picked her up for the dog park and put my mind at ease by keeping detailed records of commands to use while with her and if she was allowed treats. I can’t recommend him enough. Your pet will be well taken care of!

I’ve known Kevin for over 20 years and have always been impressed with his calm, gentle and expert interactions with animals. His advice and assessment of my dogs has been invaluable over the years.
I love that he posts pictures of the happy dogs he serves on his Facebook each day. It never fails to bring a smile to my face.
I have such great respect for him that I named my current pup after him.

Kevin is so dedicated to the dogs he takes care of and he really loves all animals. He has a wealth of knowledge about dogs, and knows a lot about helping fearful dogs feel comfortable, and showers them with attention. He is trustworthy and responsible and really goes the extra mile. He lets me know how my dog did that day, he treats my dog like it is his own (she loves him!). I can’t recommend him highly enough.

I’m updating my review as I have been using Kevin’s park services for almost a year.
He really is the best dog walker/​care taker I’ve ever come in contact with.
I’ve seen plenty of dog walkers around big parks like Magnuson whom I would never trust w/​my pup (you know the ones. .. giant packs of unruly dogs that they can’t keep track of, and who are totally stressed out b/​c they bit off more then they could chew– not cool)
Kevin is a cut above the rest. First of all, he takes time to evaluate the dogs he is taking into his pack, and is selective. He keeps his pack at a reasonable and manageable size. He takes care of Finnley as if he were his own (read my first review to see why, you can’t beat that).
When construction started right next to my apartment & was stressing both myself & Finn out, he offered to watch Finnley while I was @ work free of charge– that’s unheard of. Kevin is super responsive to my requests & always follows up quickly.
If you own a dog you know when they’ve been well taken care of and are happy. Finn is always exhausted when I come home from work, which I know means he’s had a fun & fulfilling day w/​Kevin & his pack.
Plus if your slightly obsessed with pictures of your dog like I am, Kevin posts pictures on High 5’s Facebook page, so you can check in & see how happy your pup is.
I’m a dedicated customer & highly recommend Kevin to anyone looking for a genuine, honest and dedicated person to care for their furry ones.

We love having our dog Theo take park trips with Kevin and High5. Kevin is truly great with the dogs and does a fantastic job with his clients. Our dog does park trips with Kevin, and loves every trip. He is extremely exhausted after his trips which are at least an hour. Kevin does a great job making sure he takes dogs with similar personalities on park trips.
We love Kevin’s daily Facebook status updates and pictures. Always great to see our pup having a great time. Kevin is extremely professional, the prices are super reasonable, and the billing is super flexible.
I totally recommend High5 to anyone looking for a pet service.

Kevin has been taking my two dogs to the park for over a year now and I couldn’t be happier with his service and genuine love for my little buddies. Both of my dogs are rescues and they have unique issues due to their past. Not everyone has the patience, knowledge and empathy necessary to connect with them and bring out their best. They love Kevin and I see how excited they are to be with him and how responsive they are to him. It makes my life so much easier not having to worry about them when I need to be at the office all day. Kevin is very flexible to your needs and he makes scheduling and customized programs very easy to arrange. He is also available 99% of the time which is a huge plus. I love that he either picks up his phone right away or calls me back promptly.

Kevin is absolutely wonderful! He’s so great with my tripod, Kobe :) and always goes above and beyond! I’m so fortunate to have found such an awesome, reliable dog walker that Kobe loves and I trust!

Kevin is the guy you want when it comes to caring for one of the members of your pet family. He’s got a great energy about him, and we immediately felt comfortable with him. He took excellent care of our dog, Cash, and always gave us a report on how the visit went and how Cash was doing. HIGHLY recommended.

Two paws up for High5Pet. I have a somewhat neurotic big dog but Kevin has great doggie energy and quickly bonded with her. She was happy and tired after every visit. Great Service… my dog loves Kevin. He provided us trips to the dog park, walks, overnight and over long weekend boarding. Blakley (my golden retriever) goes nuts whenever she see Kevin… she knows she is about to have some fun. I love it because I can enjoy myself and not feel guilty about leaving the the dog at home.

I can’t recommend Kevin enough — you can trust that your dog will have a great time with him! I have a highly energetic terrier, Gertie, that really needs to burn off extra energy, and when Kevin has walked her I can tell that she has had a work out! I also know because he sends awesome photos and texts of the fun they had during the day (plus, the much needed «elimination» information). He comes by on a set schedule, but I so appreciate his flexibility in taking on extra shifts last minute since my work schedule can be unpredictable. That has been a life-​saver.
Gertie also has some aggression issues — not the easiest of the dogs in the pack to take on– and it’s really easy for Kevin. You can tell he has solid, years of experience of handling and being around dogs. He knows what to do. He’s patient, and firm when he needs to be with her, which puts my mind at ease.
I was a little nervous when I had Gertie stay overnight at his home (since she hasn’t stayed at many other places) and I was so happy to see that she had a great time! I would highly recommend hiring Kevin to take care of your dog’s needs, big or small.
