Laura is an amazing cook and instructor! I signed up for the Scents of the Souk class, the aroma was scrumptious as was our final product. The class was very useful for me, being a beginning level cook, I learned all sorts of useful tips for the kitchen: knife-work to lemon zesting to roasting vegetables and creating the perfect couscous. thank you for a wonderful class!

Laura created an exceptional team building experience with a magical combination of truly beautiful, delicious food, a dash of pasta-roller trust-building, and a low-key environment. Would definitely recommend to teams of every kind — from corporate to friends and family.

I am so excited that Laura is now sharing her gift for cooking with Seattle! She’s a professional chef and former Culinary Institute of America instructor– so you’ll learn a lot– but she structures the classes to be warm, welcoming, easy to understand and so much fun! I feel more confident in my own kitchen after being part of her classes!

Wonderful cozy setting to learn culinary and life lessons and to ‘play with your food’ while you create food stuffs that offer a feast for the senses as well as the palate. Laura Leaver(instructor) is thorough, knowledgeable, funny and leaves no romanesco nub unturned as she offers method, practical use and thinking outside the ice box in her cooking classes. It’s one of those places that as soon as you leave you’re already plotting a way back!

«These carrots!» — compliment from a friend I couldn’t take credit for! I had successfully recreated the delicious maple roasted carrots from Heirlooms & Wooden Spoons: Scents of the Souk, Part 1. Such a fun experience learning about cuisine from a region with which I had very little experience! The instructor is knowledgeable and has an inviting, down-to-earth approach. At the end of the class we enjoyed the meal we had created together. I will definitely be back for more! (Also, recipes use American measurements, which I find helpful!)
