Harper’s Hair Studio

I had a small accident with my hair (my gf messed it up!) and I needed someone fast and near by where I work! I remember the owner Christina coming into the W bar and having a few drinks. She handed me her card and says «let me take care of your hair!» Hehehe this was about a month ago. Finally I went to visit her shop and Galina (another hairstylist) did an awesome job! Seriously!!! I’m super amaze! Not a lot of people can cut my hair that way, but defiantly will be back! Automatic!

I was in Seattle over Spring Break and looked around the Downtown area for a place to get a good haircut. Turns out everyone likes their hair salon. In the end, I blindly went with Harper’s and made an appointment to see Christina.
Christina gave me an awesome haircut! She understood my vague requests perfectly and gave me the fresh look I was after. Throughout the haircut, she was super nice and I had great conversation with her! Bonus points for playing «John Mayer Radio» on Pandora since he’s one of my favorite artists. I will definitely be coming to Christina again for a haircut if I ever happen to be in Seattle again. Keep it up!

I have never EVER, since I was 17, been able to find anyone who could ever cut my hair the way I really wanted. When I moved to Seattle in 2005, I figured I’d be able to find a stylist right off the bat. I mean, hey! It’s effing Seattle! It’s the big city compared to Olympia! There were going to be more options than a Supercuts or King’s Den! Yes, there were more options than what Olympia offered. But for good stylists who do quality cuts and do what you want? Not so much. For 3 effing years, I tried out a few people in Seattle and no one really meshed well with me. There were some that got pretty close, but those ones disappeared.
Then, one day while I was working at the bank, I met Mr. Gabriel Dixon. I’d just lost a stylist to some high-​end pricey hoity-​toity spa salon. And I wasn’t really happy with any of the other stylists I’d tried out at Acme and wasn’t sure I wanted to go back. Gabriel informed me that he worked right across the street from where I was working. He was very friendly, funny and he had great hair himself! So, I gave him a shot and went into see him a couple weeks later.
I was a little dubious about spending $ 30 bucks just for a cut, but I figured I might as well since my normal $ 18 cuts went up to $ 22. I sat down, told Gabriel what I wanted and how I liked to style it. It was about an hour session — that’s quite an extensive visit to a hair salon for me since I was so used to 15 – 20 minute sessions. But Gabriel is very meticulous in his work. And that is what I love about him! He is someone who wants to make sure you walk out of the salon with a look you’re satisfied with. THAT was by far the BEST customer service I had ever received from a hair cut. I did not feel like I was getting pushed out the door to bring in the next customer waiting in line. It has been a year now with Gabriel. And to this day, he continues to give exemplary service! His work is also amazing! I trust Gabriel so much, I’ve pretty much handed him the reigns. I walk in and instead of telling him what I want to see, I let him go to town and be creative with my head. And EVERY time, I’m extremely satisfied with his work! I also have a lot of fun with him! We laugh, he knows about my life, I know about his dogs, and we’ve even gone out drinking together! Gabriel is nothing short of amazing! He delivers outstanding service and quality work EVERY SINGLE TIME!
And as for the salon, it’s such a quiet, small, and cozy place. Christina is just as amazing! The two of them make it a wonderful place to visit! Her photography decorates the walls of the salon making it truly her business. Sure, it looks like another plain-​jane salon. But the level of service you get from Christina and Gabriel are what make that place shine! I have found my hair home! I would be absolutely devastated if Gabriel left or if the salon shut down. I will never find quality stylist or salon equal the their caliber.
So, if you’re looking for a quality cut or color and you want people who take the time to care about you, Harper’s is the salon! Who cares if there’s no parking downtown? Take a bus to get there, enjoy the city, get some liquor from next door, take a stroll in the Market afterwards and show of that fabulous hair that Gabriel or Christina will give you!

My haircut was GREAT — Gabe Dixon is a magician scissors! Just a few bucks more then what I used to get at Rudy’s, but with better care, better products, and far better attention to detail!
I won’t go anywhere else for my haircut!
