Man, I was totally five-star INLOVE with this place when it first opened. The owner was funny and nice and knew everything about cat food; he offered me some samples and some advice when I told him how my cats were about their food, and he even gave me a card with his name and the store’s hours handwritten on it and said to call if I ever needed anything and he’d special order it. Pretty awesome, right? After the first few visits, I’d come in and encounter a spacey lady behind the counter who didn’t really say anything to me and didn’t offer much in the way of advice or conversation. The prices were still good, though, and they still had what I wanted. Well, like another recent reviewer, I’ve also tried going five different times in the last month during times when they’re supposed to be open and they’ve been closed. The store’s not too far from my house so I’m not going out of my way each time, but it’s super frustrating to have found a place I really liked that carried the stuff I need and then have it seem to disappear. The store’s still full of stuff, but now it seems to have a screen parked in front of the door and even when the open sign’s lit up, the door’s locked. I want to re-review this when it’s back at a five, but until then don’t bum yourself out trying to check out this store’s cool stuff until they get it together again.

While this place has good products, it is «closed» 90% of the time. I have attempted to go there about 5 times in the last two months and every time it is closed even though it is during their regular business hours. Best bet is to call to make sure they are actually open.

5STAR! OMG this store should be in a Portlandia episode! I mean this in the most loving way! It’s better than Portlandia! When I was shopping here for the first time. I forgot I was in Seattle and felt like I was in some alternate Eco-topia universe with David’s commentary to the hand picked items on his shelves. Not only does Happy Endings have ‘way neat-o’ Vintage goods in the back. they mainly carry AWESOME Healthy Pet foods and Treats for cats and dogs. My cat now is now an addict to «WHYSONG – the thinking people’s pet food for geriatric cats.»(no shIt that is the name on the bag! haha) My cat goes crazyCRAZY for this food and he does not puke as much as he did in the past from Iams. seriously. Healthy ingredients you can read. David cares about his customers and welcomes dialogue about your pets while your shopping. He really cares and that makes this shop a very special place. So go here, even if you are not ready to jump on the«Whysong» health kick for pets.(not a bad price at all for what you get) But at least check out this place for pet snacks, treats, toys and even some high end vintage shopping! Love the bizarre mix of it all. my new favorite lil Portlandia pet store in Seattle… Happy Endings do exist. :D

i am so very happy i found this place. david stopped me to offer some free dog food samples when i was walking by with my dog. my pup has always been picky with food and has had stomach problems, so i was skeptical, but this stuff has been PHENOMENAL(honest kitchen mix and taste of the wild kibble). my dog no longer has any stomach issues. on top of the great products we have found there, david is always so helpful and personable when we go in. you can also browse fur coats, dog paraphernalia, and furniture when you’re there, which is… awesome.

I like how this place is close to where I live and carries my cat’s favorite brand of cat food(Taste of the Wild, for those of you who are searching for places that carry it here in Seattle) and it’s not horribly priced either. The shop keeper even gave me a free sample of different crunchers that my cat loved.

This place is adorable. They carry thoughtful, healthy products for your pets as well as unique and fun vintage items for your home. David has been there each time I’ve been in and has been my neighbor for about a year now so he was familiar with my animals. We talked at length about each of them. He is so much an animal lover, giving recommendations and explanations on the types of products he felt my pets would benefit from most. I appreciated the time he spent with me, by the time i’d left i’d purchased a couple of cans of food for my kittens. And a cow hoof for my obnoxious puppy(which stinks btw but she looooooves!) They have a huge selection of pet products from harnesses, leashes, grooming products, litter and litter boxes, treats and goodies. He said they plan on carrying chicken feed soon as well in case I knew anyone with«city chickens» haha! He loaded me up with half a dozen different samples of foods and goodies to try including gluten free puppy food(!!) The shop is in a convenient spot, 14th and Pike, next door to piecora’s pizza, WITH parking. I’m super excited to have them so close to my apartment and will definitely be using them often for my pet needs. Way so much handier and healthier than anything I might find for them at QFC or safeway.
