Good variety of Canto/Taiwanese noodle dishes. Curry laksa is a must have. Yummy soap base with nice portion of homemade noodles, tofu and vegetables. The A choy was delicious and healthy. The homemade noodles with beef is as good as it gets. Pyster pancake is a one of a kind dish w/a special sauce.

We came in for a dinner while taking a venture through Seattle’s Chinatown. The high Unilocal rating and the immense selection shown on the menu were some positive signs, but I believe in the end, we were all left wanting. We ordered some fried fish, fried tofu, sautéed greens, shrimp fried rice, and Szechuan chicken, but they were only okay. Nothing quite spectacular. Plus, one of the fried fish dishes we ordered was cold on the inside. If anything, I would skip the typical dishes and instead order the hot pot/huo guo, like many other diners did. At least that way, you’re sure it’s hot.

I love the AYCE hot pot here during the winter and fall. I have done this 3 times and while they have increased the prices over the past year the ingredients are fresh and the meat is not frozen which I appreciate. They also have udon and better veggies compared to HK Café. However, HK Café includes more variety in their AYCE in terms of fish balls, beef balls. I also like their giant Thai iced tea and their noodle soups especially the Curry Laksha. Their Taiwanese pork bun is not as good as Facing East but worth a try if better options are not available.

We had the hot pot here and it was pretty good. Nothing spectacular, but the price per person isn’t too bad, and the service is good. It was all you can eat, and we had slices of beef and chicken, udon noodles, napa cabbage, enoki mushrooms, tofu, and some other veggies. Their sauces are great. They have a delicious peanut sauce that was my favorite. We also ordered some steamed dumplings and fried pig intestines. Delicious. Overall, I like this place. Not my favorite for all you can eat hot pot, but a good option. They have some other interesting dishes on their menu, so I might return to try some of them.

Loved my meal here! We ordered the spicy wontons, pork bun, and fried tofu with a side of white rice. The fried tofu was good and the garlic sauce on it was delectable. The real stars though were the pork bun and the spicy wontons. The spicy wontons were absolutely incredible! The pork bun was unlike anything I’ve had. The juicy pork with the bitter greens and then the sweet crushed peanuts=heaven. I’m craving the entire meal all over again!

This is by far my favorite hot pot place for two reasons: it’s all you can eat and the service is AMAZING! There’s two waitresses that I adore, one being Amy and the other I can’t pronounce her name. Anywho! They know exactly what I like and get it for me every time I walk in(I mean I’ve only been there 8 or 10 times lol). It’s a pretty good size restaurant, you can bring a group of 8 in if you wanted and you’d get seated promptly majority of the time. Food: broth wise-I usually get spicy and add more spicy chili because I like it really hot… No intestine, just all chicken pork and beef. A lot of those huge version of enoki mushrooms that are rare to find in stores and a lot of vermicelli. What I always thought would improve this place is getting rid of those horrific metal chopsticks because it’s nearly impossible to use sometimes. And adding quail eggs to their option menu! But still, what you get for $ 18 is amazing and can’t beat it elsewhere! I suggest you find parking in front of the restaurant. It is paid street parking that’s max 2 hours all around. But the ones in front of the restaurant is 1 hour parking Monday-Friday 7am-6pm with no fees! And no restrictions after 6! Sounds good to me. Please note: They close on TUESDAY. Made that mistake twice and finally learned.

So far my favourite Chinese food experience in Seattle. — Very clean compared to other similar restaurants in the area — Hot pot sets! — Both thin /watery and thick doughy dumpling types — Amazing fried chicken — amazing sides — spectacular pricing. Not a place to drink or maybe a first date, but if you want high quality Chinese comfort food and don’t want to pay $ 100 you must go here for a big meal! Cover your table in dishes and eat family style.

Gourmet Noodle Bowl is quite yummy! Huge portions for a very reasonable price. Just on the fringes of Chinatown, Gourmet Noodle Bowl can be easily missed. It’s not a huge place, but it seats a decent amount of people. My friend and I decided to order: –Spicy Wontons –Laksa –Braised Pork over Rice We wouldn’t have ordered so much food had we know how giant the portions are. The spicy wontons already were plentiful — 8 – 10 wontons in an order. My friend’s braised pork over rice was quite voluminous and my Laksa came in a deep bowl. Service was great and food was homey — just how I like it. I wasn’t blown away, but it was certainly good and made me very, very happy.

Woah love this place at the International District! Coming from L.A., there are a bunch of places similar to this one. Seattle doesn’t have that many great Chinese places, but I was very impressed with this spot! My friend and I ordered: 1) Shrimp and Pork Dumplings 2) Curry Chicken Noodle Soup 3) Pork braised over rice The attention was super great and would definitely go back for those dumplings! The size of the dishes were enormous so we probably ate half of what we ordered. The final price was 25 $ with taxes which is kind of cheap.

Went to this place for Christmas Eve for delicious Chinese food. My San Fran friend and I were not disappointed. The laksa was tasty, but the broth could have been thicker. I suppose that’s a personal preference, but having tasted Laksa in many Asian countries, I feel it would make the taste more authentic. The Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce was absolutely addictive. I highly recommend anyone trying this place out to go for it. Staff was friendly and attentive, the service was good and the food was yummy. We had tons of take out and loved eating it at home!

Dropped in for a quick lunch and a quick lunch it was. Our salt and pepper popcorn chicken came out fast, along with a chicken fried rice that surprisingly came with a small side of soup. Everything was the bomb. Our server was super sweet and always checked in on us. Will be back to try all da hot pots.(They have all-you-can-eat hot pot)

How I heard of this place: A good friend’s birthday, her pregnancy cravings and a celebration invitation made this our our first visit to one of Seattle’s hot pot establishments. Type of cuisine: It seems that most come to Gourmet Noodle Bowl for the Hot Pot selections(at least on this particular night), however an extensive menu including Chinese and Taiwanese foods aplenty is also available to boggle the mind and tastebuds. Ambiance: Relatively small, the modern signage and doorway from the outside make one feel as though they are entering a trendy, hipster restaurant. Inside, one is pleased to find the traditional International District crowded simplicity of a Chinese restaurant. Chairs backing into each other from one round table to the next, the tiny space exudes family style with the cramped quarters and smiling faces. What I ordered: Family style dining throughout the meal included two hot pots, one curried(which was the table favorite!), We had several Thai iced teas($ 2.50 each). To start, we enjoyed several orders of the Crispy Chicken with Salted Pepper($ 8.50 per order) or Pop Corn Chicken. Our hot pot meal came with plenty of(refillable) meats! So, we had a feast within a feast as we enjoyed each course. Our group also selected dumplings, ribs, chicken curry, and noodles with vegetables and tofu. What I loved: The curried items, crispy«pop corn» chicken and fried basil, the noodles with vegetables. Both curries made our appetites insatiable and were easily devoured by everyone! The ribs, surprisingly(to me) were full of flavor, tender and truly finger-lickin’ good. Why I loved it: An extensive menu with something for each flavor profile. A great place to share a family meal with a small group of friends. Cost: Average($ 8.50 — $ 19.95 per person/entrée)

Small little place in Chinatown but I love coming here for their pork rice bowl. Just a traditional simple braised pork belly with pickled veggies and an egg over rice. Very traditional Taiwanese comfort food and I haven’t found a place that does it better! The pork is a little fatty and has so much flavors! I’ve had the same dish at other places and they tend to be dry or contain such small portions of pork to rice. It’s also very cheap $ 5.99 or something for a pretty large bowl. Definitely worth it. They also have pretty good veggies! I love their A Choy or Ong Choy with the fermented tofu sauce. The hot pot is also pretty good and they claim no MSG which is even better! I feel like the broth is tasty and contains more than the normal hot pot with just the broth. The ingredients — meats and veggies that come with it are fresh. The Shanghai soup dumplings aren’t as soupy as DTF but definitely slurpy and moist. I come here over and over again and think it’s a good hole-in-the-wall that’s pretty nice on the inside and serves pretty good food for the price.

I used to work right across the street from Gourmet Noodle Bowl and ate their regularly. Almost to the point of not wanting to eat there ever again, but I went back after about three months of being back from NYC. I ate here and LOVED the Shrimp Spicy Pan Fried Noodles, the pork buns, fried tofu, shrimp wonton and braised beef noodle soup, and the black pepper chicken. I regularly get the black pepper chicken and am never disappointed! You shouldn’t be either.

Great all you can eat hot pot place for 18 dollars per person. If you want lamb, it’s an additional 2 dollars. I think I am spoiled by this awesome ayce hotpot place in philly so this one just seemed average but the food was good just less selection than my favorite place. You can get unlimited beef, chicken and pork and it comes in this huge plate. You can also get unlimited veggie plates which included tong hao(a type of Chinese greens), nappa cabbage, mushrooms, tofu and udon(might have missed a thing or two). The plates are really big and my bf and I barely finished one plate of meat and we eat a lot. I was all warm and happy after the meal and so full! Perfect for a cold day. Would have preferred more variety of things but still a great meal and great service! I would definitely come again and to try out their dishes as well.

3.5 I have been here twice, once for their hot pot and once for their regular once. Hotpot is hot pot, although I will say their ingredients are very fresh. You can make up your own dipping sauce as they provide you with garlic, cilantro, and green onions. It is $ 18/person for AYCE. Last night, we came for the hand shaved noodles. I had been longing for those noodles ever since going to Country Dough(but they have hours that are not quite as accessible). We ordered the braised beef noodle soup, their house special fried noodles, fried shrimp rolls, and XLB. The XLBs were not very juicy and the skin was thick. It had a soggy appearance when it came out. The shrimp rolls were good, they were just like the dim sum dish — shrimp and pork meat wrapped around a bean curd sheet and fried. Both noodle dishes had the hand pulled noodles. They were good, but were not as chewy and amazing as Country Dough. The broth in the noodle soup was very light. The bowl is huge, meant for two people, at least. The fried noodles were just OK, it needed some salt. It came with chicken, beef, and shrimp. For a Chinese restaurant, service is great. The waitress(probably owner) was really nice.

Authentic Taiwanese /Canto resto, kitchen does a nice, wide range of dishes — one of my standbys in ID. Have especially enjoyed their noodle dishes and TW small plates. Singapore curry noodles are good, as is fried rice, beef noodle soup(both styles available — Hong Shao/spicy and qing dun(clear broth)), steamed duck, was impressed by their laksa(hard to find) which was decent! Portions are quite large(easily shared 2 – 3) and reasonably priced. Popular for work lunches among those in the ID, relatively calmer in the evenings. Service can be a bit overwhelmed during peak hours but otherwise friendly and courteous. One disclaimer on hotpot: Would head to Little Sheep or Boiling Pot for individual hotpot. Ingredients here are fairly basic and you’re essentially paying similar prices for less variety. Definitely recommend!

I finally got to try this place, upon a recommendation of a friend. Service was fast and friendly, portion sizes are huge!!, prices are fair, and I really enjoyed the Laksa here — it was reminiscent of Khao Soi — one of my favorite Thai curry dishes, but having thin shaven hand made noodles with the broth made it even more awesome! The chicken and tofu that accompanied it was a good ratio and very tender as well. I brought what was left of the broth home and it was good comfort food with rice. :9 I also got to try some pig intestines hot pot while there… I don’t think I can fairly comment on it since it’s not what I would usually order, but it was fun to at least try…

Great deal for hot pot if you’re a big meat eater! If like me, however, you want more variation, your bill might get pretty expensive. The base price for the all-you-can-muster hot pot is $ 17.99 but they don’t refill the mushrooms, tofu, and veggies that are in the hotpot to begin with. They do give you unlimited frozen udon noodles — I’d prefer a noodle option where I can choose the style of noodle, but no less it was decent. I went with a meat eater so we made sure to keep the mounding plate of fresh pork and beef in one half of the hotpot — they use the two side divided pot so you can have two flavored of simmering goodness going. After a long hike, it was nice to re-fuel here with lots of yummy broth and veggies. Luckily I took custody of all of the tofu so I could get my fill of protein. Next time I’ll have to decide on some add-ins and just fork over the extra cash.
