Gerber Collision & Glass

I had a great experience with Gerber Collision and Glass. Someone backed into my car while I was in it, and I didn’t get their license plate or insurance information. There was a large indent in my bumper so I decided to get a quote to see what it would cost me out of pocket to fix it. I made an appointment (very friendly staff helped me make the appointment) and when I showed up, Fred was very thorough in helping me pop the dent back out quickly. He got down on the ground in the pouring rain and didn’t stop until it was fixed. Then, he cleaned off the black scrape marks from the other car and sent me on my way without charging me. I was expecting thousands in repairs, but it totally made my day how honest, friendly and helpful Fred was. I’ll definitely be referring Gerber Collision & Glass to anyone who needs body work done! I had a very good experience with Gerber. I visited them for an estimate after a minor fender bender. Their estimator advised me that the damage was just cosmetic and he fixed it in just a few minutes. Then cleaned up the car, wrote the report for the insurance company, and sent me on my way for FREE! This never happens! He could’ve charged me, but he didn’t. I appreciated their honesty and willingness to help me out. This tells me they are a serious business that relies on real work and honest values.

The customer service here was fantastic! I came in to have my bumper reattached from a minor bump into a pole. After looking at my bumper, the estimator told me they could just pop it back into place, free of charge. I was amazed at this service since I had already had an estimate from another shop to the tune of $ 100 to do the same thing. I will definitely come back if I have any damages, and will recommend this to my friends!

Not a good experience. Upon inspecting the work that was done for the trunk assembly of a kia optima I was driving at the time, I found the trunk wouldnt close smoothly, and the edge gaps were uneven. To me, that’s not done; that’s still in need of some fine tuning. I left it for «adjustments» and it was still crooked, so I took it to another place that got it done right immediately. Not sure what was happening here when I brought my car in… all I know is I would only go back for an estimate, not actual work to be done.

Did a great job on my Mini Cooper auto glass replacement. Great price compared to competition, especially with $ 20 discount offered on website.
Technician was super easy to work with and all staff were friendly and helpful.
Forget the free car washes from competitors (you pay more for them anyway), highly recommend these folks.

After my car was broken into I had my car towed to Gerber. My ignition switch was broken, my trunk release was broken, and my windshield was broken. Once it was there they got the things fixed quickly and delivered the car back to me. When I got in my car and drove down the road I noticed a few things that were terribly wrong.
1) The steering wheel was on crooked. About 10 degrees to the right.
2) The turn signal didn’t work.
3) The car no longer buzzed when I left my lights on when opening my door or did my dome light turn on.
Which is ridiculous because one of their technicians drove the car to me like this to me. They presented it to me like everything was perfect.
How is this even acceptable?
I called them up and setup an appointment to get this fixed. They fixed the steering wheel but claimed that the buzzer broke on it’s own and wouldn’t be able to fix it because it was a «discontinued item.» I did some research and showed them that the buzzer did work because there were other things that would set it off. Just not the door. I showed them that the dome light was also not working.
They then claimed that the door switch was broken because it «was old.» They didn’t want to do any looking into it and just said «I bet it’s just the switch» and said they’d order one and let me know when it’s in to fix it. They never called me back.
So I did my own research and found that the cable had been disconnected which was right near where they replaced my trunk release latch. So, somewhere in working in there they carelessly disconnected the door switch, but wouldn’t own up to their mistake and lack of attention to detail.
I later went to get my alignment checked and they still explained that it was completely off but fixed it properly.
If you want to take your car to a technician that lacks detail and doesn’t own up to their mistakes, go to Gerber, but I recommend looking elsewhere for a place that take ownership of their mistakes and takes a little extra time to make sure that they’ve done the job right in the first place.
Such a waste of my time.

Fantastic service! Everyone was very nice and helpful. I got constant text messages and phone calls with updates on my car. My car was rear ended and they fixed it within about 4 business days. The work on the car was also great. The paint matched my car and the bumper looks like it might be nicer than the original. They even went above and beyond to bring the car to my apartment since i did not have much of a transportation option. I will definitely bring any car here again if I have any body repair needed. Thanks Gerber!

This is the type of place that you hope you never have to go, but when my car was rear-​ended, it needed to be fixed. This was the place the insurance company sent me to, and things went just perfectly! They did the estimate while I was present and explained to me all of what they thought they’d have to do. Once my car was in the shop, they called me twice a week with updates, and even finished the work ahead of schedule. The location was super convenient for me, which was a huge plus too. I’d recommend them!

Several weeks ago, a large chunk of gravel flew out of a gravel truck leaving a gravel pit in Marysville, leaving a significant chip & crack in my windshield. After no progress in making a claim with the trucking company, my husband and I decided to stop with the back and forth and pay for the replacement ourselves. While we have insurance, the deductible was higher than out-​of-​pocket with Gerber, so it was a no-​brainer.
After receiving several quotes from different companies, Gerber was by far the best quote (and they made mention they were willing to beat any quote to get my business!). I made the appointment over the phone. It was tricky, at first, to get a quote because I have a Canadian-​made Acura car but it is the equivalent to a Honda Civic… one company even told me I would have to go back to Canada to get the job done! Fortunately for me, Gerber was helpful and patient and saved me an inconvenient trip!
Troy from Gerber called me at 9am, to say he’d be by at 10am for the mobile windshield replacement. He again called just before his arrival so I could show him where my car was at my place of work. He was prompt and arrived at exactly 10am, told me how long he estimated the job to take, and in fact it was done in that exact amount of time! I was really pleased with the workmanship that he did, ensuring to tell me, too, that the windshield needs to ‘cure’ for at least 40 minutes before the car would be ready to drive.
I would highly recommend Gerber — not only for their excellent prices & quality, but for the service personnel who work out of their Thorndyke Ave franchise in Seattle.

I expected to see a «Gerber» van but it was a «Glass America» vehicle that came to do the install — but they are one of the same.
Also, I found a $ 20 off coupon on Gerber website for a glass install/​repair if done without insurance… I called Gerber this morning and said I noticed the discount after I booked the appointment… No problem! They adjusted the price and quoted me the new price over the phone, which is exactly what I paid when Troy from Gerber processed my card for the service.

Fred was such a great guy to work with. Gave me a detailed quote on what would be done, and explained anything that didn’t make sense to me. My car was in the shop for 15 days after getting hit in the side by a bus, and Fred called me every Tuesday and Thursday to keep me updated. Other than the asshole who just door dinged me a few days after I got it back, you would never know there was damage to that side of the car. They also fixed my trunk from not closing firmly, which wasn’t part of the accident, but they had to remove the trunk lid anyhow. To my surprise, they also pulled out some damage to the other side of the vehicle from a previous T-​Bone accident that has yet to be repaired.
Overall, the customer service is exceptional, the work is wonderful, and my insurance even gave me $ 100 off for using them.

So, I was recently hit by a huge ass freight truck. I brought my car in here by recommendation of my insurance company, there was a lot of damage.
When I initially called to schedule an 11am appointment for the next morning, the guy said, «Yup, just bring it on in». Well, I get a call on Saturday morning at 9am and the lady at their call center said my appointment wasn’t in the books, and wasn’t confirmed. After a few schedule switches, she gets me in at 10am. Ok cool, thanks lady! That worked well! :)
I drop my car off and return a week later. After picking it up, and inspecting, everything looks great, functioned well, and was run through a car wash.

Sigh. What a miserable experience.
To start with, my car was broken into. Awesome. I was referred to Gerber Collision through my Insurance company. It was a virtually painless process to schedule the appointment; my insurance company patched me through directly to Gerber, the woman told me someone would call the night before my appointment to confirm, and then the technician would call the morning of to give me a 2-​hour time frame of when he would arrive. Sounds simple enough.
Day of the appointment arrives, I never receive a call from the tech with an ETA. I have to call 3 times to get that ETA (every time sitting on hold for at LEAST 5 minutes before speaking to a human being), and when I ask to speak with a manager about it, I have to wait for her call back. We play phone tag, she keeps saying that the tech «was in touch with me» in her voicemails when he absolutely WAS NOT. I had to call AGAIN when the tech was half an hour past his ETA window — he was able to call me to tell me that he couldn’t get into my building’s garage, so I’m not sure how he couldn’t ever call me to give me his ETA in the morning per his job?
In the end, the tech said I would receive an email receipt — have not received, despite double checking my email address was correct on his tablet — and the manager said I would receive an emailed coupon for the inconvenience of my experience — also have not received. It’s been a week and honestly I am not in any hurry to call them AGAIN to get this sorted as well.

I was extremely happy with the quality of work at Gerber as well as the customer service. They called me a week before my car was supposed to be done to tell me it would be done in 2 days. The hood of my car and the front bumper needed work and when I picked up my car not only was it shinning beautifully and looked better than new, but the inside had been vacuumed and detailed. They did a great job and I will definitely refer everyone I know to Gerber.

Had a great experience after my car window was broken into. Had a little trouble with initial contact and scheduling, but was recommended by my insurance company. The tech, Darrel, came to my car, vacuumed any remaining glass and did a great job of fixing my window. He took my deductible payment, I signed and the receipt was emailed to me. Would recommend Gerber.

Have been meaning to write this review for over a year now, but have just slacked off on doing so. Gerber doesn’t deserve that sort of inattention, because they did great work for us.
our 2009 328i got rear-​ended while we were stopped at a traffic light. The guy who hit us was talking on his cell phone and didn’t notice the stopped cars ahead of him. Hit us hard enough to push us into the car in front and knock that car into the one in front of him! Bottom line is over $ 9,000 in damage to our car.
The repair job from Gerber was excellent. Absolutely no sign that the car, with only 11,000 miles on it, had ever been in an accident. Over a year later, the repairs have held up perfectly. AS a matter of fact, nearly a year after the repairs, we had what we thought was a rattle in the door, took the car back and asked Gerber to repair. They did so willingly without any hassle or question. Turns out the rattle came not from one of the repaired parts but from an entirely unrelated cause. Still the rattle was fixed with no charge to us.
I would not hesitate to use Gerber again and would recommend them to anyone

My insurance company pointed me to this company and I was pleased. They repaired my new Leaf in quick order and you cannot tell where the damage was. The staff was courteous and helpful, even driving me home.

After being in a very minor accident, I took my car to Gerber, based on the insurance company recommendation. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and only had to wait for a few minutes before getting my car assessed.
The Gerber employee was courteous and apologized for the wait (um, there was no wait!) but I appreciated the thought none the less.
After a quick look at what I thought was a huge scratch on my bumper that needed body shop care, he informed me that he could fix it right then and there — no charge! I was delighted with joy to avoid having to bring my car back in for the actual repair once the insurance company approved the estimate.
Thank you, Gerber for saving me a ton of time.
I will definitely recommend you to friends and will come back if I ever find myself in another accident.

Save your time and money! The lady at the call center gave a very low quote and told me they’d come to my house thus I booked an appointment. I set an early morning time and took the morning off work. Mid-​morning I finally got a call from the technician says he might be there about 12:30, he’d take 1 hour to do the replacement and I’d have to wait an hour for it could cure before I drove. In addition, I was told I would be charged an additional $ 100+ for «side moldings and clips» that usually break at time of installation. And since no one had ordered the side moldings, he couldn’t make the appointment anytime today. NONE of this was explained to me when I booked the appointment. No thanks! I’ll go find a professional shop that gives full information, shows up when scheduled and holds to their quote.

Since moving to Seattle, my car has been a magnet for others to rear end and Gerber always does a fantastic job repairing the damage. Not only do they do great work, but the customer service there is fantastic as well.
I would highly recommend this shop if you need any auto work done.

After three separate trips to Gerber over a month and a half after being hit, my car still isn’t fixed correctly and my insurance — who recommended Gerber — has suggested I take is elsewhere.
I’m not really sure what the problem is with these guys, but a number of little things just didn’t seem professional or inspire confidence. A lack of communication, poor scheduling, and a void of quality control or post-​repair inspection of workmanship — just to name a few.
Based on my experiences, I wouldn’t recommend Gerber to anyone.
