OK, they are closed… but the other Milagros location lives on in Belltown.

I heard about this place from Groupon, I had a 60 min massage with Kevin. He was so professional and gave a great massage. He let me choose what sent I wanted for the oil used in the massage, he asked if his pressure was good and if I any areas that were sore or needed extra TLC. He used hot towels on my hands, feet and shoulder which added an extra cozy feeling to the treatment. He also said if I had time after the massage and a stylist was available I could get a complimentary blow out. The salon it self was not super fancy but all the employees seemed nice and friendly.

I’ve been here twice for a haircut with David and have had two very different experiences. I went for the first time on the advice of a friend and she was right: he was attentive and gave me the haircut I wanted. The second time I felt he rushed me out the door without paying much attention to my hair, which ended up different from what I expected or thought I asked for. I had to have my unflattering cut fixed at a different salon in another state while on vacation. I know I could have probably gone back for an adjustment. I didn’t because I am now hesitant to trust David with my hair. I would go back to Milagros only to purchase Aveda products, the girls at the front desk are always friendly and helpful in person and on the phone.

I came up from So Cal to visit my dear friend and we scheduled massages at your salon. We both had a wonderful, relaxing and peaceful experience. I highly recommend your salon for the most de-stressing, serene experience.

A couple days ago, I got my big Locks of Love haircut at Milagros, and I was NOT disappointed! I chose this salon 1) because I’ve always known Aveda salons to do great charitable work and be good environmental stewards and 2) because they were offering a 50% discount on Locks of Love cuts. I called around, and it’s definitely not the norm for a place to do this– especially such a high-end place. My experience with the girl who cut my hair was exactly what you’d want when you’re changing your hair so dramatically. She was a great communicator, she was sweet, and you could tell she really cared about getting it right and making me happy. She kept checking in with me during the cut, giving me a chance to speak up about the length, styling, etc. It gave me a chance to switch some things up, leaving me with a cut I was totally happy with. She really did a great job, and I’ve gotten tons of compliments on my hair. The only reason I’m not giving this place five stars is because it would normally be out of my price range if the heavy discount wasn’t offered, and it seems to be a place slightly more geared to spa services than hair services. But make no mistake, this place and my hair dresser were terrific.

I got a gift certificate to Milagros and made appointments over the phone for massages for my boyfriend and myself. The girl, Skylar was super unprofessional over the phone for starters, like she didn’t know the salon services. Secondly, I told them my boyfriend had never had a massage and wanted a RELAXING service. The therapist deep tissue pressured the shit out of his back with her elbows giving him back pain for the next week! I told them that I have had tons of massages as I had worked in spas for years. My massage was a slightly glorified back rub. WEAK. Also, when your waiting for your massage you wait in the day light salon, blah, where they didn’t even offer us water. Overall it was TERRIBLE. My boyfriend thinks professional massages hurt a bunch and never wants one again. I WILLNOT recommend this spa to anyone! Thanks for nothing Milagros.

Someone gave me a gift certificate to the Etherea Spa about three and a half years ago, right before I moved out of the area. I was hoping to be able to use it while I was visiting the Seattle area last week, and then learned Etherea had changed its name to Milagros. I called to inquire about my certificate and a manager called me back to say that it was no problem, I could use the certificate from Etherea. No complaints there. I booked a 90-minute deep tissue massage and a spa manicure. In general, I was really happy with the experience. It’s a very small spa area with just two or three treatment rooms. No showers or frills. But the place is pleasant and relaxing, with a modern feel to it. The massage itself was good, very high quality. Brice was my therapist, and I’d recommend her. Then I received a manicure. The manicurist used lots of high quality tools and products, took her time, and did a really nice job. My only beef is that the line of nail polishes they use only carried five colors. More would have been nice! My only other small complaint: the two girls at the front desk had a little bit of a «cooler than thou» attitude going on. They weren’t downright rude or anything, but it wouldn’t have killed them to smile at customers or wish them a nice day, Overall, the spa services were good, prices were on par with going rates, the place was comfy, and I have only a couple of small complaints. I would probably return!

This place is wonderful. Aveda products and training obviously set them up well, but it’s the people working here who made this a top-notch spa experience. From the moment I called to try to get in last-minute(literally last minute — 2:30pm call for a 3pm treatment) to the moment I left the spa, I was in heaven. The team was so genuinely nice and the therapists(massage and facial) really knew their stuff. I was actually able to unplug from the real world for a good 2 hours, which is saying ALOT for me! One teeny tiny little thing I want to mention, more for the spa than for Unilocalers(because it shouldn’t disuade anyone else from going here!): when my treatments were over and I was having some water in the back area, a few ladies were in the front being gossipy and talking about someone’s unhealthy relationship or something. Just not a good last impression(or first I guess). Keep that kind of talk in areas out of earshot. I will be back when I’m in Seattle!

I love this place and have always had good cut/color experiences here. When my choice stylist is not available, they are happy to recommend someone who has a similar style if you have emergency hair needs. It’s also a really convenient location downtown and they have pretty good hours. I don’t go anywhere else for my hair anymore.

Though they go by Milagros now, this spa is a winner. While on my morning walk I passed this location and saw a sign offering a 60-minute massage for $ 65. Bargain-hunter that I am… I booked time with Lori B. Wow, what a cute place. All of the Aveda stuff of course, but really good service and massages, too. It had slowed down once I staggered out of my massage, and I was offered a complimentary shampoo and blow dry. I was so out of it and disheveled that I’m sure I needed it. I’ll definitely book there the next time I’m in town.

I’ve walked by this nice little spot many a time, but recently had reason to step inside since my stylist(really, artist!) just set up shop here. Ask for Dru… He’s the best! It’s a bright, intimate space, with a friendly staff, and constant entertainment while you’re in the chair, provided by the stream of passers-by out on First Avenue. Not a posh spot, but I’ll take bright, friendly, and laid-back any day! Etherea stocks the full line of Aveda products, so you can get your shopping needs fulfilled here as well, and is surrounded by several other small shops also attached to the Alexis, so you can browse around before or after your appointment. Perfect.

OK, I’ve had two experiences here. The first I didn’t receive an actual service, the second I did. First time: I walked in the door one morning with two other ladies hoping to learn about their spa, and despite the whole front desk and retail area being empty, we were not even greeted by the front desk. Two people were standing there talking to each other, and they just sort of eyed us without a smile until the awkwardness swelled to the point that we just decided to walk out. Seriously, there was no reason not to say hi and see what we wanted — we were all dressed well and if the shoe had been on the other foot, I would have been like, those girls look like they’re on a pedicure date. Let’s book them. SOMETHING. Second time: I’d booked an appointment with Alice for a brow wax. I think one of the front desk people who booked the appointment and who greeted me when I arrived was the same as the first time, as she had the same uncaring manner. I hope she isn’t far from discovering the job option that makes her happy. Anyway, Alice was great. When I remarked that no one had ever done my brows with hard wax before, she explained that Etherea has a policy of using hard wax(Cirepil Blue, not Aveda) on everything but legs and arms, as a technique to minimize client discomfort. She was very focused during the wax and less on the chatty side. She made sure to give me the happy hour discount for being in the Aveda network, which was much appreciated. I think Etherea’s lucky to have her.

I’ve been getting my hair cut and colored by Kellie Riggs for more than 3 years now. She’s taken me from long to short hair, from blond to dark brown. I highly recommend her!

I’ve followed my hairstylist, Carling, to this location of the Etherea Salon and I’m much happier having my hair cut in this hip and elegantly decorated little space.(The other location was bigger but more drab). The staff is friendly on the phone and they offer a wide variety of services which I’m sure I’ll try someday. Carling’s a great stylist who my fiancé and I have been going to ever since we moved here a year and a half ago. She has a wide variety of knowledge, is always going to events to learn about new styles, techniques and products, is always friendly and does a great job. :)

I’ve been to Etherea 3 times, usually with Christa. I get a kick-ass facial from her with no problems. Had another facial but this time without Christa. The spa treatment by Tian(sp?) itself was pretty similar, but the random comments during the facial were interesting at best. She asked me about my ethnic heritage and basically told me that my skin is oily due to the fact that my people«work outdoors» and our skin has evolved to accommodate that. Strange. 1÷15÷08 original post: 10÷15÷07 A month and a half after our move to Seattle, I must still be stressed. That’s the excuse I used to book a facial at Etherea. Christa was fabulous! She listened to my main concerns and tailored my facial to tame my flared up skin. I even got to skip the painful extraction routine, since she didn’t want to aggravate my skin any further. Yes, there was the requisite«I recommend these products», but I told her that I was open to suggestions. We discussed which products I have and which products I could hold off on, based on my budget. By the time that I left, I clocked in nearly 2 hours at Etherea(I had booked an hour facial)! I’m sure that she was in a hurry to clean up/move on to another appointment/or go home, but she was super accommodating in helping me choose products. The facial itself was so relaxing that I started to fall asleep during it, but the kicker was the ending: after a mini neck and back massage, she smoothed blue oil on my neck and shoulders, followed by a hot towel. Pure bliss. Get there early and you can use the sauna prior to your treatment.

The massage was great… I went here early to try the sauna and relax in the lounge– but its all in the same place– its a TINYTINY place– that was about my main complaint… otherwise the service was impeccable and courteous!
