This café definitely deserves a 4 star for great customer service and unique coffee drinks! I got the Café Nico and it came in a 4oz cup of goodness. It was the perfect amount that I want. It’s tangy and not too cinnamon-y. My friend got the Stephanie(earl grey honey latte) and it’s good if you’re not trying to drink coffee. Our server was nice and remade her drink with soy knowing that she didn’t ask for it in the first place, but she said she was a bit of lactose. It’s right across the street from REI. The café is so spacious!!! I’ll definitely be back to try more of the other signature drinks!

This is my favorite coffee spot, I’ve been going here for about 2 years now and I figured it’s time to write a review. The drinks are all amazing, I prefer their espresso over any other in the city. If there’s a line, it’s worth the wait. The baristas are all awesome, their patience and customer service is great, and as a regular I am always delighted :) They do a really good job keeping their pastries well stocked in the morning, but I wish they would restock for the afternoon. Sometimes they run out of my favorite pastry(bear claw rawr!) before 10am and that makes me sad. Overall, I really love this spot and I go out of my way to spend money here.

Don’t quite get the 4.5 stars rating. This place is really just whatever. Got mocha which is too sweet. Friend got latte which is nothing special(that means it doesn’t even«taste good») Nothing special

Latte art. Steamed milk that is creamier and tastier than what you drank as a breastfeeding infant. If you’re within 500 miles of Capitol Hill, go to this place, order a latte, and savor the awesomeness!

Best coffee in Seattle. Get the Nico. That orange flavor is amazing.

Nice location and atmosphere. Customer service wasn’t anything to write home about. Coffee was decent but way too overpriced for the quantity we got. If in the area I’d go again, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

Great coffee, nice atmosphere. SUPER rude to customers. Watched a the barista treat a group of tourist horribly. No thanks. I politely walked out. There are plenty of places to have coffee and not watch the staff treating other people like s*$*(t.

Expensive and rude. The guy with the chops behind the counter could not have been more impatient taking my order and there was no one behind me– the place was nearly empty — I can see why! Not sure how they expect to stay in business with all the competition around and them so rude.

Great latte but pretty bad service. The cashier literally threw back our credit cards but maybe he was having a bad day. It’s a bit dark inside but seems like a good area to do work/study. Slightly on the pricey end for the size but if I lived there, I’d probably make it my hangout spot haha. Yay for wifi and outlets!

Came here to do some studying. Walking in, the line situation can be kind of confusing especially on a busy day but tonight it was totally fine. The guy at the counter was super friendly and whipped us up some cappuccinos which were fantastic and not stupidly expensive. We also ordered a blueberry scone which was delish! There is plenty of seating so finding a spot to study wasn’t an issue. I kinda wish they had more couch or hang out options. There is a lot of diner chairs and stools, which is great in some respects but doesn’t provide the warmest space. The really awesome part about this shop is a separate closed off space where people are generally reading/studying/being quiet. Overall, come if you are looking for good Seattle vibes with lots of seating and great coffee!

BEST expresso/coffee/tea spot in Seattle — find a location near you and get there, now! The white velvet is ah-mah-zing! Indulge in the 12oz for hot or larger if iced, you won’t be disappointed. Per other reviewers, the Beautiful Stephanie is a unique treat, must try if looking for a twist on tea/chai drink. I forget where they get the fresh pastries from but they are BOMB too, and the hours of operation are a nice surprise! Great space to working late and/or weekend study sessions.

Great coffee. Try the caffe nico. The«Beautiful Stephanie» is an earl grey tea based drink that sounded nice too. Next time!

Best coffee in Seattle hands down. Whether you are having a café nico, a latte or just regular drip you will not be disappointed. Not a coffee drinker? Still go! They make a wonderful version of a London Fog called Beautiful Stephanie. They also sell whole beans. I always make sure I have a supply of the Vivace Dolce roast at home so I can brew myself a delicious thermos of coffee to enjoy at work. Another plus is that they are open till 11 pm which is nice when you need a late pick me up, or want to chat with friends later in the evening.

When in Seattle, you’ve got to try the coffee, but if you don’t settle for Starbucks you have to find a happy medium, and Café Vivace was just that. I was debating between the beautiful Stephanie and café Nico, but once I realized that the beautiful Stephanie was a tea drink, I went straight for the Nico. This drink is smaller than you will imagine, but you’re not drinking it for the caffeine you need, but to say you’ve had it. Well worth the trek just to people watch everyone going to REI.

The iced vanilla latte here is one of the best I’ve ever had! I came here on an early Sunday morning with some friends to just chat and catch up. The place is pretty unbusy around this time. There was lots of seating available. My friend took us here because it’s her absolute favorite coffee place in Seattle. She ordered an iced vanilla latte for here AND another one to go for later. That’s how much she loves this place. I ordered the Café Nico and my other friend ordered a hot chocolate. They were both really good, but the vanilla latte was amazing– the perfect blend of sweetness and coffee. I will definitely be coming back here when I’m in town for their lattes. Especially because it’s right across the street from REI, one of my favorite stores!

You can conveniently park at REI(free parking) and walk over to Vivace. I heard that they had the best coffee in Seattle so I had to check it out. The line was practically out the door but the barristers were pretty fast and efficient. I waited about 5 minutes before they took my order. Their coffee with soy was good but a little on the pricier side. My small cup of plain coffee with some soy was about $ 4. I would understand charging $ 4 for a specialty cup of coffee — like a latte but plain black coffee? Come on! The interiors of the shop was really clean and nice. It was pretty spacious where we found a table to settle ourselves at. It was a pretty nice environment that was conducive to studying or chatting with a friend. Not a bad coffee shop. Just pricier.

Customer for over 6 years, but today(145pm) was my last trip to my old coffee spot. The photo speaks for itself. The barista totaling people out at the end of the bar couldn’t be bothered to fill up my cup or even mix my latte properly. After carelessly doing his job, he shoved the cup towards me as I stood there shocked. On another note, your other new barista might want to learn other terms for 12oz lattes, as she was referring to them as tall. I come here to get away from Starbucks.

A warm drink is the cure for a rainy, gloomy day in Seattle. I’m lucky that Espresso Vivace is only minutes from the Facebook office and after hearing(multiple) coworkers rave about how I must try Espresso Vivace, I decided to skip my morning routine of making my own espresso and try something from Vivace. There are a couple of locations in the city. This one is located right across the street from the REI near Capital Hill. When I arrived at 10am, there were lots of people already enjoying their espresso in the warm room, but luckily no line. After ordering a caffe latte and admiring all of the artwork in the room, I finally received my latte. First look — beautiful latte art. Perfect foam and one of the few times I comment to the barista how I really appreciate their work. By the time I wanted to take a photo for Unilocal,I had consumed most of it, but you can see for yourself. The taste is incredible too and one of the nicest lattes I’ve had in a while. It seems like a lot of people are saying the Caffe Nico so the next time I’m back, that’s what I’m trying. Until then, I’ll stay jealous Seattle.

You ever get that question about what your last meal on earth would be? Mine is the fried rice at Benihana(I know…). But if that question were shifted towards beverages, I’d 100% tell you the Caffe Nico at Vivace. Hands down this is my favorite coffee beverage in the United States. Two shots of espresso, steamed half-and-half, orange syrup, cinnamon, and an orange peel twist. Just thinking about it makes me want to scan Priceline for a cheap flight to Seattle. It’s a tiny indulgence that I could start my day with every morning if I lived anywhere near here. Sadly, I don’t. Guess it’s burnt Maxwell House from a sewer for me in New York :(

It is very beautiful coffeeshop with a view of the REI store across the street which has the hiking/biking trail, A lot of trees and a waterfall. There are huge open windows and the place feels really bright, calm and inviting. I am not much into coffee and am more of a tea person, so cannot rate cafés based on the quality of their coffee, but I had a beautiful Stephanie here which is a tea latte. It was garnished with a bit of cinnamon on top and smelled divine, but tasted even better. First sip took me back to my childhood days. My partner had a macchiato and he was pretty pleased with that one as well. So overall I really enjoyed this place. Will be going back for more.
