The people here are so kind. It really feels like a neighborhood place where everyone is welcome. We drive here from Phinney and it’s totally worth the trip. My son gets a great little boy haircut every time and the price is right.

Great place! Very good at styling tips and tricks, which has actually been hard to get from other places I’ve been too.

I’ve never written a Unilocal review before, but I decided to write my first one purely to praise Epic Barber Shop.
Angie is amazing! When I first moved to Seattle about a year ago and was still worried about driving around the city, I hopped onto Unilocal and found this barbershop within walking distance of where I lived!
The first time I just walked in and waited amongst many young children around elementary school age. Frankly, I found them quite entertaining and Angie and Heather seem to have such an amazing rapport with them! The two barbers present were both super friendly greeting me when I awkwardly entered, and I only waited about 10−15min and then was called up to Angie’s chair. I gave her a brief description of what I was looking for, and she took that and made it even better than I imagined! I have a very short undercut and it’s long on the top, and Angie gave me some AMAZING and detailed line work. And it’s also incredibly affordable for how often I have to get my hair cut!
The shop has an amazing neighborhood feel to it and I very much enjoy the atmosphere. It’s a great feeling to have a regular barber who knows me, my hair, and the style I’m looking for.
Since that first visit, I return every 3 – 4 weeks and have a new innovative and creative Angie design every single time. I trust Angie’s creative eye completely and am so happy I stumbled across this place! I wouldn’t get my hair cut any where else in Seattle!

If you don’t care too much about how your child’s hair comes out, you can’t beat the price. The guy who works on weekends is usually good, but you can’t really choose who does the cut. I keep going because I can walk there and my kid likes it and has no opinion on his own haircut.

I just had an amazing experience here. Heather took a hilariously bad haircut that I got just hours ago and was able to salvage it to the point that it is basically good. She was able to fix my head and did it quickly and with great conversation. On top of all this, she tried to refuse any payment. This is a great shop. I will be going back and I highly recommend it to anybody on the north side.

I love this business because it is locally owned. As a business owner myself, I always try to shop local when I can. Heather at Epic is great. She is my regular barber and does a fantastic job. She gives me a good looking haircut, but really let’s be honest. I am a guy and my hair is pretty easy. She is always in a great mood with awesome personality. I keep coming back because she is always happy to see me walk through the door. I have worked in customer service all of my life, so I know like anyone she has good days and bad, but from a customer perspective, I can’t tell you when those are and that is awesome! Angie at Epic is great too! She doesn’t typically cut my hair, but if Heather is ever out she has done a great job. The shop has a big flat screen too, so you can watch sports or cartoons if you are bringing your kids in to get a haircut.

Outstanding work, it is the first place that actually knows how to cut hair well for low prices!

We stopped by, needing a quick haircut for my six year old. He took us right away and did a beautiful haircut in record time. The (new) owner was very personable and I hope he does well!

heather is awesome, personable, sweet and funny. she did a great job on my haircut and it was $ 5 – 10 less than most places and MUCH better style. although they do a ton of kids here they also are good at everything as i am 44 and found it a good alternative to Rudy’s. nothing against Rudy’s, but ever since i moved to north Seattle the locations are too far from me. for anyone near the U-​Village area, this place is hard to beat.

LOVE this place. Almost don’t want to leave a good review for fear I’ll never get in again, but this is the right thing to do. They have great pricing. They are super nice and friendly, fast yet good at what they do, and are great with kids. My husband and I also have started getting our hair cuts there too. Nice, clean facility. There’s always street parking. There’s also a lot behind the shop. We usually have either Heather or Angie cut our hair. Have also had a gentleman, whose name escapes me, cut our child’s hair 2x and did great too. Just very, very happy with this place overall.

Looking for a local barber shop & came across Epic purely based on the stars I saw on Unilocal.Stuck my head in the door & I was sheepishly hesitant with the ‘child friendly’ décor. «Uhh, do you do… men’s hair?» Heather declared an emphatic ‘YES’ and welcomed me in. After a brief conversation, she made some good suggestions and began cutting without hesitation. Very friendly, conversive (without being overly chatty) & efficient she did a great job taking care of me.
They had the obligatory big tv on ESPN (don’t know if they change channels when there’s a gaggle of children/​parents around). I will say it can be a challenge to find them as they are in a nice (but rather nondescript) building– they are on the hard SW corner of NE 45^th St & 36^th Ave NE)
Having this place close by with reasonable pricing, I will definitely be back.

Epic is fantastic. The patrons are as friendly as the people who work here. We get great haircuts for both me and my 4-​year-​old son.

Epic is amazing! Both kids get great haircuts here — equal to the ones we’ve paid $ 75 – 100 for in fancy salons. Kids cuts are $ 15 each given by wonderful, kind, stylists who know exactly how to relate to kids. My kids think going to Epic is very cool. Heather and Angie don’t talk down to them but are completely age appropriate. Have told many friends in the neighborhood.

Reviewing for the BF. He loves this place! I’ve gone with him the last few times and have wintessed how engage the barbers/​stylists here are. He goes to Heather and she is very personable and makes sure he is OK with his haircute before he leaves her chair! Of course a few funny jokes won’t hurt the experience either.
Epic is super afforable, super clean and will even give a discount if you work at Children’s (which my BF does).

Best kids haircuts. Really happy with this place

LOVE! I came here for a cut on my 4.5yo sons hair and couldn’t be happier. He has long (for a boy) gorgeous curly blond locks that we’ve had hack jobs on before that left me in tears. She took off a ¼ inch like I asked and just cleaned it up. It was quick (but not too much so, just precise), my son watched PBS cartoons and we were outta there for $ 18 with a tip. We considered Kids Club at U-​Vil but $ 30 and a mandatory hair washing there was no way, mostly for the latter! Have a hard enough time with that at home! I’ll be back for myself and I’m sooooper picky about my hair but Heather has mad skills. Check it out!

I have to say that not only is Heather great at cutting hair but she also makes me laugh when I’m in there.
Always fast and consistent with my hair cut. Her other staff is great too. There have been times when Heather was busy with another client and I was in a hurry and they all are good at what they do. I love that she takes walk ins. I highly recommend Epic.

This is a very good place for a kids haircut.
After too many kids haircut shops around town, but without consistent stylists, we’ve experienced first hand one too many terrible cuts or uneven bangs situations at some of our favorite spots. Sometimes, I fear these kids cuts are close to something I might accomplish at home.
Luckily, these always grow out eventually. They are just kids after all.
At Epic, Heather actually gave our child a stylish cut for her long hair at a very reasonable price.
Epic is not a full service salon. There is no shampoo or blowdry with the cut, no cotton candy spray or glitter sparkles (and believe me, this makes it hard sometimes to sell Epic to my daughter, who loves these things at other kids salons) but honestly, this is first time I’ve liked a kid’s haircut and felt that I could rely on the cut looking good and growing out nicely. The kids cuts are $ 15, and if Heather is the stylist, you will be sure to get some style for those pennies.
