Emerald City Spirits

So I entered the store and the guy at the counter wasn’t friendly at all. I asked him a few question about the new beer they sell in bottles (Mac and Jacks, Manny’s). He answered but didn’t enhance my experience one bit (not very customer service oriented). I had a $ 10 coupon that was good if you spend more than $ 50. I walk out forgetting to use the coupon for a bottle of Blanten’s bourbon which was $ 65+. I walked back in 2 minutes after I walk out the door. He tells me, «there’s nothing I can do, it’s in the computer already». I also like Hennessey XO which I’ve purchase from there a couple times. I get home and there’s no receipt in the bag. Time to find a new store.

Used to always go to the place to fill up my Georgetown Growler, but over the past few weeks they replaced it with BUDWEISER. I assume no one in Wallingford is bringing their growler in to get bud, so I’ll be going elsewhere until they switch it.

This is for a visit back on 7÷3÷14.
I needed a small amount of tequila to bake a particular Mexican chocolate pine nut cake. I didn’t want to wander some monster box store or buy a large container. I just happen to notice Emerald City Spirits while driving through Wallingford.
Helpful sales person who gladly showed me the various choices to select from. Found what I needed and was on my merry way. Greatly appreciate the convenient location and assistance.

They’ve got a parking lot — though usually I just park on the street. Regardless it’s convenient access which is pretty key in my liquor acquisition process. It’s a clean shop and fairly spacious. I like that they also do events and tastings here too. There’s also a decent selection of beers if you need to get a keg. This place basically fulfills all my boozing needs.

Tidy spirit shop just two blocks west of Wine World. I went hoping to find a novelty bourbon, which they only had in small bottles (perfect for stocking stuffers, I guess). When I couldn’t find what I was looking for, the guy at the front immediately offered to help, and placed the items on order for me. Super friendly, went above and beyond.
Clean store, decent layout by genre. Spirits only, decent prices (not as cheap as a Costco, but reasonably priced like a Trader Joe’s). I’ll definitely be back!

Very cool place! I like going there and seeing stuff there that the Washington liq. stores didnt carry! Now if someone can get rid of the liter tax that would help more places out!

The same blond woman always helps me check out, and she’s always pleasant and helpful — because of this, I’ll keep bringing my business to Emerald City Spirits.

This place is awesome with a very helpful staff. I’ve been in hear three times since they took over from the state and the selection has increased. Two times, when someone asked for something they didn’t have, they took the name down and, with the first, I saw it in stock the next time I went in. (The second request was mine and it was only days ago). Finally, they are the only place in town that stocks bitters from the Bitter Truth (Berg and Hauck is not the same, sorry folks). This alone made them my new go to spot for bitters.
Side note: Rating a place one star when you haven’t even been there is kinda lame. Call the manager and complain if you had the issue and, based on my experience with the owners/​managers when I went in, they will do everything in their power to make it right.

I just came here to say that the newest hire here is a young woman with magically colorful hair and excellent taste in literature. In a perfect world, my desire to purchase alcohol would coincide with her desire to drink and we could drunk drive off into the sunset together. Sadly, it appears as though awkward small chat is about the best it’s going to be. Goddamnit.
This place is looking kind of sad these days, all the decorations/​non stable boozes are gone. It’s like Booze Moses led his people on an exodus with customers being those left to come to terms with their sin, that being passing the private liquor referendum.

This one of the larger liquor stores around. By their selection it shows they are not taking advantage of all that room. Hopefully with the up coming liquor law changes it will bring these horrible prices down. The countdown to Costco Liquor has begun!

I mean where else can you buy liquor? In WA we have to go to a liquor store. Besides some chitter chatter with a variety of clerks… They are all the same. Bonus star for later hours, I guess. Plus… If you go here you most likely won’t be leaving empty handed.

Okay, I have been writing a slew of five star reviews, but what can I say? This is the most friendly, welcoming liquor store I have ever been to. My friend behind the counter gives me updates on how Lauren is doing from Young & the Restless. I haven’t watched a daytime soap opera since summer vacation 1992 when Sheila took Lauren’s baby!!! Nevertheless, it is nice to check in. Alcohol and Lauren Fenmore, it all sounds great to me!
