The service was wonderful. The food was amazing. I asked to meet with the Sous Chef; Mario was gracious and deserving of all my praises. Please stop here if you are visiting. Do not be intimidated but the vibe.

We stopped off for a break from walking around the market during their happy hour. It was a great, peaceful, quiet break from the busy streets, and a wonderfully refreshing time. I’m a bit of a beer snob, but like to enjoy good beer regardless of the owner(Goose Island Bourbon County anyone?). Elysian certainly serves above average beer. I sampled a few and ended up really enjoying the Beer 1000(a sour). Overall a good mix of selection. We also ordered the beef poutine from the happy hour menu, which was VERY generously portioned, and plenty for both of us to share. Where Elysian really shined was the ambiance. The narrow building, wooden floors, and brick walls reminded me of an extra fancy speakeasy. There’s a beautiful spiral staircase past the bar, with a large chandelier showcased in the middle of the restaurant. Grab a booth in the front windows if you like people watching. Overall, we were very satisfied with our visit, and would highly recommend.

This was a pretty nice bar. We stopped in around 2pm on a Saturday. There were open spots and we got served right away. Their menu looked good, but we just came for beer… at first. I was a big fan of their blood orange beer! We were there long enough to be part of happy hour(3−6pm and 10-close) so we ordered the soft pretzels. .god. Do yourself a favor and get the pretzels! It’s only $ 5 and they are perfect. Not too salty, a little bit buttery, and it comes with a really tasty horseradish mustard and pub cheese. You can bet I’ll be back for the pretzels and orange beer! The atmosphere is really nice. It’s a combination of elegance and casual that’s just right. I saw some lunch entrees going by for other tables, and they looked delish. I recommend this bar.

We only had flights but the ambiance was super cool yet casual, and they had the best beer I’ve tried in Seattle. Huge selection so there’s something for everyone. Cool place.

A friend and I went to Elysian Bar before the game and it was incredible! They have a huge selection of drinks here. We arrived during Happy Hour and took advantage of that by getting the mussels and fries. The mussels were in a creamy white/buttery sauce that was perfect! We could not stop eating the mussels and the fries here they all tasted so wonderful! Fries were seasoned to perfection and cooked up perfectly! Service was great at Elysian. The bartender joked with us a bit and told us her favorite items on the menu. Make sure to check out the unique art here that is on the walls — interesting concepts! The bar was pretty empty when we arrived(sometime around 4ish), but I loved it and will definitely be back to fill the place up again here soon!

Much more friendly and accommodating than the other location. I ordered a flight which was awesome. You get to chose any 5 beers you want. I always prefer that over the set flights. The food seems elegant. A little on the pricey side but it’s close to Pike Place Market.

I want to give 3.5 stars but that’s not an option. The spot is easy to find almost at the corner of 2nd and Pike. When you walk in theres seating on the left and the bar on the right. It’s a very narrow place. They have a staircase in the back that goes to the loft-like second floor and a pretty chandelier. We came here on a Sunday around 4ish. I heard their lunch menu was really good but we were a little too late so I think they gave us the dinner menu. For drinks I had the Beauty School Drop Out beer. It was a little too sour for me but I otherwise really liked it and I normally don’t drink or like beer. I also tried the jasmine ipa. My boyfriend really likes it but I’m not a fan. I got the regular fries which were fine. Nothing special. They had some special sauce with it. I also got the pretzel twists which were good but were plain. There was just salt on them. It came with some beer cheese dipping sauce but it literally tasted like nothing. It was like dipping the pretzel into water. I ended up dipping it in the sauce from the fries and I liked that better. One of our friends and some fancy fries with gravy or something and cheese on them. They were good but a little too soaked for me. Our waitress was nice and it wasn’t very busy when we went. I wasn’t too impressed with the appetizers we had but I plan to come back and try the lunch menu some time.

While I really like Elysian’s beers, I do not find the restaurant to be even tolerable. It strives for an upper-scale dining experience but falls short in my opinion. The result is an uppity display of mediocre, overpriced dishes. Not wanting to judge too quickly, I’ve visited twice. The second time, I found myself silently asking«Why did I do this again?»

Newly moved to the area, and this is the best bar I’ve found so far. Elysian brews some incredible IPA’s and the bartender Casey(KC?) made one hell of an Old Fashioned. The exposed brick, swooping staircase and chandelier are a nice touch, but my eyes couldn’t stop dancing across the bar at the impressive spirit selection. They had several of my favorite bourbons and gins, and many more that I’ve wanted to try for some time. $ 12 for a pour of Weller 12 can’t be beat. We will be back for sure!

Visited during happy hour and both their local Stout and porter were empty. We tried a couple of their beers and while they were good, they were anything to write home about. The pretzel appetizer was actually really good as we debated which sauce was better. But the service was really poor. There wasn’t hardly anyone there(we were sat upstairs by ourselves to begin with) and after our drinks were done we sat without contact for 45 min! If it wasn’t for a really good conversation I would have been furious. We would have gladly ordered another drink but instead we ended up having to ask for our check finally just to get out. Cool environment, looks like a good menu, but with all the other options right around here I’ll try somewhere that will allow me to spend more money next time.

On my most recent trip, I stopped into this bar a couple times since it was in such close proximity to where I was staying. Both times I drank their Jasmine IPA which is really just fantastic. The last night I was there, I ordered mussels off of their happy hour menu. You have a choice of three preparations and per the bartender’s suggestion, I went with the creamy broth w/sausage(I forgot the name of it…). That tip was right on. So good. I do have to give a shout-out to Todd the bartender. He was super helpful and fun and we bonded over his 80s New Wave playlist he had going in the bar that night. I stayed longer than I had planned just because of the good music. Next time I’m in town, I hope he’s working!

I want to like Elysian– I support craft breweries. I support places with happy hours. I support cool buildings. But selling out to the big guys(in this case Budweiser) and continuing to pass yourself off as craft is cheap. While staying in Seattle recently my hotel bar had a draft made specifically for them. When I asked about it, they mentioned they had a contract through Elysian that got cancelled when they got bought out. Instead the hotel had to source from Lagunitas in California, which is much further away, to fulfill their tap. Such a waste. I’m all for supporting local businesses. Unfortunately this is one no longer. For decent beer and bites they still deliver. For something local look elsewhere.

Chilling spot to go grab some beers. I really liked the area with couches and the bar was pretty fun. They had a great beer selection as well not just the stuff you find in stores. Came back for a happy hour and tried the truffle poutine. Good but not great gravy even though it had truffle. The cheese curds are out of this world and the fries are good too.

The atmosphere was awesome. My kind of place. However, the group I was with on New Year’s Eve only got drinks except for one. Lady’s friend ordered this tuna soup? It came out looking like salsa/porridge. It was definitely too spicy for her so she couldn’t eat it and let others try it. It wasn’t that spicy lol but I probably wouldn’t have ordered it. I would have eaten it but I was still full from dinner right before :( 3 stars just for the design and layout. Cocktails that were ordered were alright. I’d give more stars had I eaten some food. And our waitress took forever to get our check. She was nice to take the spicy soup off our friends bill though, so kudos to her. I want to give 4 stars but maybe next time!

Located on 2nd between Pike and Pine, the new Elysian Bar looks like an unassumingly small bar from the outside, but it’s a large, happening bar and restaurant on the inside. There are a few booths at the front, surrounding the bar. There are larger tables further back and on the second floor. The restaurant and bar area were packed for a Wednesday night. I ordered a dark and stormy because I love ginger beer. For dinner, I ordered the griddle burger with fries. The burger was very tasty and quite filling. It came with fries and ketchup and chipotle mayo dipping sauce. Toppings for the burger include onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and three tiny pickles. Service was great. The hostess allowed me to sit at the bar while I waited for my party to join. Food and drinks arrived quickly and the servers came by to check up on us frequently. Overall, the experience was great.

I went with three other people, so we wound up ordering a bunch of appetizers and splitting them. The good: Brussels sprouts were delicious, cooked with ham and cheese. Everyone at the table said they were good. The cheesy polenta was creamy and addictive. My friend liked the beets, but I hate beets(they always taste like dirt), so I can’t review those. The«meh»: The bread pudding dessert seemed to be missing components listed in the menu(no cream cheese). It was just okay. Somebody at Elysian really loves bread pudding, though, because there are three kinds on the dessert menu and nothing else. The scallops were okay, but there were only two, so we had to cut them up to share. We found that the less expensive dishes were the most delicious. The pricier, fancier dishes didn’t do it for us.

I LOVE the jasmine IPA which I had tried at the California beer festival so it was so lovely to have it here! Our server was great and seemed to really enjoy his job. We came in for happy hour and incidentally they were also having their unveiling of a coffee stout which was fun. They had a live band and were giving out free samples of their new beer. Overall, we loved our time here. We thought the pretzels were good, drinks even better and the service was great. The ambiance reminded me of a 1920s bar – very dark and stylish. Has two floors so plenty of seating!

After a sub par visit to their Capitol Hill location, I was tempted to write off Elysian as an overrated brewery that’s too big for its own britches. I’m glad we decided to check out their downtown bar before heading out of town on our last day in Seattle. This so called«Elysian Bar» is less bar like than Capitol Hill. It’s still not a taproom by brewery standards but it’s classy and gets the job done. I wanted to try the Dragonstooth Stout since I hadn’t previously gotten the chance. They had it here and it was worth the search. It’s a tasty Imperial Stout that belongs alongside the big boys in the category. I sampled the barrel aged Pale which was a unique and delicious twist on your standard pale. I almost ordered a full pint untilI sampled my next beer… I’m not normally a Belgian fan but the barrel aged Tripel was perfectly executed. I didn’t taste any of the nasty strain of Belgian yeast at all. Mostly just the sweet, sweet taste of the barrel aging process. The best tasting Tripel that I have ever had, by far. Very well done! Our bartender was awesome and made the experience all the better. She was friendly, upbeat, and engaged in the beer tasting process. I still prefer a more brewery taproom experience but I would certainly come here again if I were in the area. If you wanna try Budwesier’s take on craft beer, this is the place to do it at.

This place exceeded my expectations! I haven’t been to a Elysian restaurant in quite some time and usually was a little underwhelmed but not at this location. The space itself is really pretty, huge, open and a just cool spot in general. The staff was great and very helpful. We went with a group of four on a Friday night and it wasn’t overly crowded The food was much better than I remembered! At the table we ordered the –Salmon BLT(amazing! Grilled perfectly, fresh & served on a tasty ciabatta bun) –the Burger(very tasty, cooked perfectly juicy with tons of fresh ingredients on the buttered bun), –Steak salad(this was not my dish but my friend said it was very good and her steak looked to be cooked just the way she wanted it) –Fish and Chips(this was the only downfall of the meal I did not have a taste but my friend said it wasn’t as crispy as it should be) All in all, I was impressed & will be back!

Beautiful new location that opened since our last trip a couple years ago. My guy is a big fan of Elysian beer and this location was a lot more convenient to our downtown hotel location. We love beer sampling and decided to try out a couple. The selection was so delicious that we followed that up with a nice pint. My beer loving guy is a big fan of hoodies, so he got himself a Elysian zip up to sport around town. Love Elysian! A must when in Seattle.
