Over a dozen different oysters on the menu and all from either Washington or Vancouver. It’s no wonder Seattle is known for their seafood. If you love oysters and only had time to choose one place then this would be it! Hamma Hamma, Dabob Bay, Sunset Beach, Sea Cow & Rock Island. There’s no wrong one to choose, but if you’re clueless go ahead and pick the name that sounds cute. Lastly, you can ask the server as they have some good idea and the service was on point. The shucking needs some work though as almost every oyster still had some piece of shell. Some oysters lacked juice which lacked the full flavor experience. I loved the lemon/vinaigrette that served as a great palate cleanser. On a sunny day definitely sit outside by the water and get the pier experience. Fyi, Elliott’s serve not just oysters!

Thanks Ryan(waiter) for making this meal special. If you want to ask about Seattle ask the locals they are quite informative, suggestive and friendly. To start this place is located at the harbor overlooking the waterfront. The menu offers many satisfying dishes, I suggest trying a sampler of the different oysters they have to offer to start with. What my friends and I ordered are the king crab legs and lobster main tail both have sides of garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. I highly recommend it!

So I went here for lunch today and ordered the copper river salmon special which came out and was nicely seared on the outside but basically raw in the center. Having been to many other(better) seafood restaurants in Seattle I didn’t think anything of it because I’m figured they would use sushi grade fish and knew how to prepare it safely to allow it to be served seared/raw. Well I was wrong, shortly after finishing my meal I began to feel extremely nauseated, and ended up severely ill and proceeded to evacuate the contents of my stomach for the rest of the afternoon and evening. Even now, many hours later writing this review I’m still pretty nauseated. I know there’s the disclaimer on the menu that says«eating raw or under-cooked food can lead to transmission of food borne illness» or whatever, but seriously I’ve never had an issue with this at other(better) restaurants that serve fish similarly prepared. So to anyone thinking of eating at Elliott’s Oyster House I’d advise steering clear and going to a better seafood restaurant like Aqua by El Gaucho, or Sea Star, because getting food poisoning from a $ 40 piece of fish is super lame and I’ll never go back there again. Also: It’s too bad Unilocal doesn’t have a zero star rating option, because I’d totally give Elliott’s zero stars, but I guess one star will have to do.

I LOVE this place. It is located on the waterfront pier area where the Seattle Great Wheel is. It’s best to come here during happy hour because they have really good deals, especially on oysters. The happy hour is from 3 – 6, so get there a little before 6 because it gets really busy if you actually come here at 3. Also, the earlier the better because from 3−4pm, the oysters are $ 1.50 each! They go up in price after 4pm. The calamari, oyster stew, and pesto salmon sliders are also really good. You can also get wine & beer for $ 5 which is such a great deal. Come here for happy hour, you won’t regret it!

In A Nutshell: –If you’re in Seattle and love OYSTERS and DUNGENESSCRAB, then come here. –Been here a couple times and love it every time. –They have an expansive selection of fresh oysters, lot’s of choices. –Start off your meal w/an oyster shot, then chase down w/an IPA before ordering. Overall, this is a very upbeat environment, great staff and nice place to take a date, your family or friends. I love Elliott’s.

Look, if you find yourself deep in the heart of the Seattle tourist district, then Elliotts will satisfy. We had reservations at 8:00 p.m. on a Friday night. The place was packed with tourists, as expected. The hostess was able to seat our party inside(it was cool and drizzly outside) which was fine. I found the food here to be be passable, but certainly nothing out of the ordinary. The clam chowder was garden variety, nothing to hate about it, but certainly nothing unique or special. Made with a thickened roux and plenty of clams, it was hard to complain about it. It simply was the same variety of clam chowder that one would expect to find on a tourist wharf or cruise ship terminal(think Pier 39 in San Francisco). The fact that Oysters are Elliott’s specialty, I guess we were set up for some disappointment. There are few exceptions to the rule, When in Rome, and Elliott’s followed the rule. The raw oyster selection was fabulous and they lived up to expectations. The rest of the menu was very average, including the fish ‘n chips which are usually a staple of these places. I prefer a beer battered(«tempura style»?) fish ‘n chips, but this one was served panko-crusted. This fish ‘n chips was billed as Alaskan Cod, but I found the meat to be tougher than most Alaskan Cod. At most, I could give this fish ‘n chips a 6⁄10. The chips were served room temperature and were also very average, certainly not living up to the huge Unilocal ratings. Our server was very condescending and snobby, because our group wasn’t well-versed on the many varieties of oysters they served. He was the passive-aggressive, sarcastic type who was obviously used to brow beating unsuspecting and ignorant tourists who order oysters indiscriminately, like a sommelier in a fine restaurant serving novice wine drinkers. He described the oysters’ characteristics in a manner nobody could comprehend, using terminology normally reserved for wine such as «nose», «palate», and«finish». He feigned surprise at the oysters we ordered and the order in which we consumed them(he would have suggested starting with the salty varieties and moving to the others). The atmosphere was lively and very loud, which was fine and unsurprising. Outdoor seating would have been nicer had weather permitted. I cannot say I’d return to Elliott’s in the future, unless i was going to order oysters exclusively, and I had no transportation out of this area(as was the case for us). The massive numbers of high Unilocal reviews for Elliott’s unduly influenced our decision to try Elliott’s. I can state with a high degree of confidence that most of the reviewers are not local Seattle diners – they are tourists off cruise ships(like me). They tend to be an easy-to-please crowd. Me, not so much.

Shell pieces in my oysters. Sand in my clams. Barely seasoned halibut that was supposed to be «Cajun». It’s embarrassing to see a restaurant pull crab meat out of a plastic tub for their $ 12 crab cocktail. The garnish of the hollowed out crab head wasn’t washed and still had filth on it. Dry salmon, under seasoned halibut, over cooked shrimp, and sloppy execution all around. Paid good money for my team to eat here… Fool me once, you won’t fool me again. Two stars: one for the venue and another for the whiskey selection. Not much else to offer really.

Book a table for a day with my partner and his mother for a lunch date a week before. We had to wait 10 minute even when I made a reservation and there were literally 20 tables open, and no apology or explanation of what is going on. Because I worked in a restaurant industry I didn’t want to be all cranky so I just set in a table where we were seated and a guy came by to get us water few minutes after but we were ready to order then was told that he was not our server so that he’ll have someone else come by. Shortly after awhile waiting for our waiter/waitress to come by he confronted himself saying he is the server and that he could take the order(weird). We did not get our bread to start and our appetizer, which was simply calamari, came out with our meal which took like 30 – 50 minutes to come out, I’m not being difficult but things were irritated me from the beginning. What’s funny? the table in front of us got their stuff early and got breads as a starter, at this point I felt very harassed with the service we were getting. No one came by to check on us or filled our water OR came by to give us checks, we had to constantly call and search out for our waiter to get us what we need which was only TWICE(one for water & second check). I wanted to leave NO tip but my partner was nice enough to leave at least few bucks for few ‘service’ we got. Won’t be coming back!

First and foremost I despise seafood if any sort. So, why go to an oyster house? Well it was hubby’s 40th birthday and we were celebrating with a Seattle weekend trip. We’d just gotten off the Argosy locks Cruise(highly recommend) and he really wanted seafood for his birthday dinner. We stopped by this place and took a quick look at the menu to make sure there were options for me. Yup. At least two which is all I ask for. They had four. It was a go. We had about a 40 min wait, which really was only about 20. As soon as we were seated we had water, menus and someone asking if we wanted drinks. Hubby ordered beer, I stuck with water. Everything sounded delicious on the menu. I kept thinking, could I have that… with chicken instead? But I’d never as that at a notorious seafood restaurant. We settled on a blackened steak salad for me, and prawns with bacon spinach risotto for him. When the waiter came to take our order he asked if we’d like to sample some of the oysters. I must’ve made a face be8he laughed and said«no oysters for you». I then told him I don’t do seafood, period. To which he asked why in the world I was there. I told him it was hubby’s birthday, and it was more about him than me. Our food came and it was AMAZING. Hubby let me taste his risotto which had so much flavor. My salad was beautiful, the steak cooked perfect. Then to our surprise, out came a gorgeous crème Brulee with a candle on top. No cheese song, no clapping. Just a friendly«happy birthday man» from the waiter. Wonderful experience. If we’re ever in Seattle again, we’ll be back.

This place has the most delicious oysters. As soon as we got off the plane we ate here for dinner before we took the ferry. We ordered a dozen oysters and it was fresh and so yummy. It came with a lemon champagnette slush. I enjoyed each oyster with some horseradish and Tabasco sauce. It was so good we went the next day during happy hour and ordered two more dozen. The oysters were chef’s choice, and whatever they gave us tasted like butter cream of the sea! SOGOOD. Mmmm! I’m not the type of person to throw down a lot of money for a meal, but these oysters were worth it. Go during happy hour 3 – 6PM Mon-Fri. It gets packed so prepare to wait a little.

To be quite honest, Elliot’s was just okay. I would call it a slightly up scaled version of Red Lobster. The prices reflect an upscale restaurant but the flavor is lacking. To their credit, the ambiance is nice and they have a ton of space! We had great service, but for some reason their credit card machine went down and they had to run your card the old fashioned way with the carbon print. The server and the bartender made it sound as if this was a regular occurrence. The previous reviews of the crab cakes are what brought us in and they were a disappointment and tiny. Meh. Go elsewhere.

Review is solely on their happy hour. Happy hour time:3−6 Progressive happy hour, what does that mean: oysters are $ 1.50/each at 3pm, $ 2/each at 4pm, and $ 2.50/each at 5pm till 6pm. We ordered: — oysters(got them at $ 2/each) — mussels(2 orders) — fish tacos — calamari — oyster soup(I think it was oyster, it was delicious and $ 3 for a cup) Great happy hour food deals! I think each dish was $ 5 or less. We also got cocktails that were tasty too. We sat outside and it was really nice out. Happy hour is at the bar or the 1st10 tables on the patio. I am definitely coming back!

This place was pretty good. For the amount of money you spend you get HUGE portions. We ordered the spinach and crab dip, mixed oyster appetizer, king crab legs and spicy corn chowder soup. Have zero complaints. Our server was pretty damn amazing too. He helped us pick the best oysters and I just say never let us wait long for anything. I would recommend this place for seafood if you’re in town. Just be ready to spend a little money!

Another big name restaurant in Seattle. It’s actually a bit of a hike down from the main area of Pike Place, all the way on a pier by the ocean. Weather permitting, try to get a seat outdoors on the pier. It can get pretty windy out there but it’s worth it for the view. You could get more than just oysters here, but given that its in their name you can expect that it’s their specialty and almost everyone here will almost exclusively order those. Try to go during happy hour to attempt to save yourself some money. Because of the reduced price I ended up making a second order so I didn’t really save anything though haha. I went during the time of year where happy hour coincided with sunset hour so the view was extra amazing too. If you’re a tourist, make sure you save some space in your stomach after all your food adventures in Pike Place to enjoy some oysters here. No foodie trip to Seattle is complete without a stop here.

AMAZINGLYDELICIOUSOYSTERS! They offer 28 different varieties of oyster! Isn’t that insane?! Ok, let me start from the beginning. My friend recommended this place for yummy fresh oysters. So we decided to give it a try on a Saturday evening. There was a wait list so we decided to sit at the bar, which I’m so glad we did! Hollis was the chef at the oyster bar, so we asked him a few questions about oysters. He was really knowledgable about all the different types of oyster they had to offer. Oysters: we tried the Elliott’s select, golden mantle and bay water sweet. All were very sweet and premium tasting! We also had the copper river sockeye salmon: only available during a short period of time during the season. and Hollis highly recommended it. So we had to give it a try. One word, Yummilicious! It’s a MUSTTRY! Overall, we had a great experience at Elliott’s and will definitely recommend this to our friends!

Any restaurant frequented by tourists(granted, we are technically tourists) is iffy. This restaurants did not disappoint. They offer a variety of local oysters at reasonable prices($ 2-$ 4) and a variety of food(salads, entrees, sandwiches), sure to please every one in your party. Appetizers/Raw Oysters: 1) Hama Hama oyster 2) South Sounds Kumamoto — both very tasty oysters. They are not large shelled oysters, however they are meaty for their size. The Kumamoto were excellent — perfect taste of the sea but not salty at all, tender, and a smooth texture. 3) Oyster Chowder(the large oyster in the small cup was a pleasant surprise! While the soup had a creamy base, it wasn’t too heavy) Entrees: 1) Elliot Burger(the arugula was a nice change to the typical lettuce dressing) 2) Copper River King Salmon(the best salmon I have ever had! Beautiful pink-orange color, moist, fatty/rich flavor) 3) Dungeness crab 4) Crab & Salmon melt(on focaccio) 4) Salmon Reuben melt(good, but my personal least favorite) — the sandwiches came with well seasoned/perfectly cooked fries The food came out quickly considering how busy it was. The service was very friendly and the waitress made sure we were always doing well.

Made it to the 4pm portion of the progressive happy hour. Climate change has apparently affected oyster size: The Husband and I ordered 18 and most were the size of my thumbnail(and The Husband has remarked upon my tiny hands, in the context of boxing of course). They were not ‘worth’ $ 2 each(although I don’t know what the going market rate is). Tip: Forgo the fresh oysters and order the $ 3 oyster stew. It was remarkably salty(and this according to the spouse who can have salt lollipops), but the tiny cup came with two giant oysters. Retrieve the bivalves, squeeze a healthy dose of lemon, and get a delicious fat morsel. Salmon sliders and strawberry salad were quite good.

If you’re a tourist and your primary goal is to be by the pier and have views of the water, then this place could be ok. If you are looking for quality food, value and service, feel free to pass this place by as there are many other seafood restaurants to explore in Seattle. I had high hopes after seeing all the great reviews for this place but the experience was very underwhelming. The food is standard, definitely not memorable. I did go in for lunch, so maybe the dinner options are better but I can’t imagine returning to pay even more for dinner when lunch wasn’t great to begin with. Between myself and my two guests we ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell(they do not offer a sampler or half dozen/dozen set), Cod and Chips($ 15), Dungenness crab and Shrimp melt($ 17), and the special — Sea bass cheeks and bay shrimp with artichokes, potatoes and capers($ 21). I would say that no one in our party was really excited about any of the dishes. The fish and chips came with 3(2−3″) well cooked panko breaded pieces of cod and a mountain of fries. The sandwich, which came open faced, was pretty much thick bread with a creamy crab topping and was also served with a mountain of fries. And the Sea bass cheeks came luke warm and overcooked, clearly had been sitting in the window for a while. This dish they did redo upon request however the cheeks were again overcooked. It just wasn’t up to par and I hate when dishes are packed with french fries to «fill» the dish. They should not overwhelm everything else on the plate. Even though the oysters were good, I can only give it 3 stars. For a $ 100 lunch, I’d prefer to go elsewhere.

First of all, this place has a bombtastic patio. Grab a seat outside in the evening for glorious sunset views of the harbor, watch the occasional boat and ship go by, and take a short stroll to the pier after dinner. Lovely PNW vibes! We ordered: Appetizer Tower — crab cakes, calamari, and crab and shrimp dip. Each appetizer is a full serving size, so it’s a steal of a deal. They were all great! The crab cakes were especially amazing. Don’t dismiss the side of jicama slaw either, I usually don’t eat salads but this one was tasty and unique. Cup of Spicy Clam and Corn Chowder. Standard chowder, pretty good but nothing special. Grilled Scallop Risotto. At first glance this dish may seem like a modest amount of food, but I ensure you looks are deceiving. The risotto is so rich and creamy, the scallops so sweet and succulent, the overall flavors so complex and satisfying, you will find the serving size more than adequate. I relished every bite with joy, and felt absolutely stuffed after eating it all! Cioppino. A bit pricy, but you get really generous portions — you can’t tell from the picture but there is a huge crab cluster hiding on the bottom of that seafood pile. I found the broth a little too strongly seasoned, it was overpowering the natural flavor of the seafood. Definitely preferred the scallop risotto more. Still pretty yummy though! We also had the good fortune of one of the most genuinely friendly and helpful server I’ve ever met. She went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing night. And she wasn’t an exception here — another server who brought us some dishes was also super nice. I had a really happy experience at Elliot’s and they were definitely part of the reason!

A bit touristy, but as a tourist it was a great place for happy hour oysters. The menu looks like it’s a little pricey outside of happy hour, but we were more than satisfied with the pricing of what we ordered. In addition to the oysters, of which there were a variety(the waiters/waitresses were more than happy to explain the different types to us, which was a huge help), there were also a lot of other dishes during happy hour including fries, calamari, mussels, and fish tacos. We all thought the food was great and the staff was pretty friendly. While we did have to wait a really long time to get a table and the hostess at the time was quite rude to the parties waiting for tables and with answering questions, these negative memories have been dulled with the passage of time and outweighed by the positive memories of the food we enjoyed.

This place is very touristy and it felt like part of a chain restaurant. I was very satisfied with the sockeye salmon and vegetable meal. Everything about it was fresh and flavorful. I was disappointed in the oysters. My fiancé and I ordered a dozen, so we each had six. While we ate the oysters, part of the shell would come off in our mouth(this happened for most of the oysters, but not all of them). The shell chunks that came off in our mouths were small, but the experience itself was not as enjoyable as we would have hoped. This place is situated near the bay but from where we were seated, there were not great views of the water. In fact I think most of the restaurant didn’t have much of a view since it was tucked back from the end of pier.

Came here for Happy hour during the 3−4pm. The oyster of the day was dabob which was fresh but too small and some of the pieces were not that good(yet they served them anyway) so minus one star for that I also got the tequila mussels and the sauce was so good! My server Marissa brought me some bread to dip in the remaining sauce(i was expecting to pay $ 3 for the bread as most people have said but it was free! Good sourdough served hot !! I was so impressed. The blackened fish taco was good. Good tortilla and the fish was spicy(which is good) huge piece of fish. Salsa just meh but overall decent taco! At first I waited at the bar for a good 5 minutes but in the end My server marissa was super nice and came to check whether I needed anything several times :) Happy hour is such a good deal(especially if you come at eatlier hours for oysters! $ 1.5 from 3−4pm)

Came here specifically for their happy hour. Raw Oysters 3:00PM: $ 1.50 4:00PM: $ 2.00 5:00PM: $ 2.50 I love oysters and I always enjoy trying some different ones. However, with Elliott, it is chef’s choice on what oysters they give you for happy hour. It depends on what oyster they have, how many of each they have, if they’re going to run out of a specific oyster, etc. I dragged my friends and my boyfriend here for a mid-afternoon snack. Both of my friends haven’t really eaten oysters that much so this was a great opportunity to introduce them to MYWORLD. Sort of. We got seated pretty fast and we started it off with a dozen raw oysters. I forgot what type of oysters they gave us but they were a bit on the briny side. There were a lot of shell pieces in them :(so it was hard to enjoy a few of them. Other than that, they were pretty good. Not the best oysters I’ve had but they were definitely fresh. Our server came to clean up the shells and gave us some time to think about what to eat next … However, she took a really really long time to get back to us. By the time she got back to our table, we just decided to leave. Great prices for happy hour. Fresh oysters. Great location cause the view is really nice. Just slow service. I would still recommend Elliott’s if you love oysters though.

This review is based on my Happy Hour experience at Elliott’s Oyster House Early bird does get the best deal here as oysters during HH is priced according to time of order: 3:00pm– $ 1.504:00pm– $ 2.005:00pm– $ 2.50 The 4 dozen oysters we had was A-OK. I would definitely stayed with oysters as the cooked food here were meh. I should not be complaining as Calamari($ 3) and Mussels($ 4) but they were just uninspiring and not worth ordering. Dark and Stormy($ 6) and Pier Margarita were delicious. So my tip is to just eat all the oysters and drink all the cocktails and you would be leaving the restaurants in a really good mood. The view though worth checking out as it is right by the dock with a great view of the water.

Happy Hour is the time to come! I can during happy hour so my review and the pricing is all happy hour pricing. We got there around 3 pm(on purpose), which is the start of their first happy hour, and the oysters are $ 1.50 each. The chef gets to choose which ones you get, and you don’t know until the server brings them to your table. I really don’t care which ones you give me because they’re all $ 1.50! When they bring you the oysters, they give you this house topping to put on the oysters. If you’d prefer the traditional cocktail sauce and horseradish, then don’t be afraid to ask. We did, and they brought it out with no problem. They also only give you a slice of lemon. We need way more than that, so just ask and you shall receive. House Cabernet($ 4) Obviously not the greatest glass of wine, but for $ 4, who’s complaining. It gets the job done and goes great with the oysters.
