Elite Event – Shopping with Dish D’Lish

This was easily my favorite of all the Unilocal elite events that I’ve been to. The food and drinks were exquisite, fun, and unique. The personalized behind-​the-​scene tour was a fantastic treat along with the cool opportunity to chat with the fabulous Kathy Casey.
The shops along the street were all unique and fun with fun deals right before the big holiday season. I will definitely be back to many of these stores to pick up little treasures AND hope that they will still be serving jello shots.

I showed up about an hour and a half late for this. I had to get the mini, take him home, feed him, shower up and suit up. So the crab puffs, stuffed peppers, and chipotle deviled eggs eluded me.
Whatever. I got to talk shit with Kathy Casey for a little while as she signed the 5 books I bought from her in a last minute Christmas shopping coupe that is sure to win adoration and applause from the recipients. Or they will say thank you and silently curse me for giving them cookbooks to take up space in the houses when
keeps everything they need neatly filed away in cyberspace. Again — WHATEVER. I fucking hate Christmas this year and could give a hot shit what those assholes think of my gifts. I got me a free jar of Strawberry Lavender Jam out of the deal, so FUCK THEM ALL.

This may be a bit scatterer-​brained as I am going on 3.5 hours sleep (I had a plane to catch in the morning). How does one review an event that went down an entire block? I’ll give it my best shot.
The hot buttered rum was fabulous, I could have drank that all night and been very happy. I didn’t shop. Thank you, Michelle!
I met up with folks at Hattie’s Hat. Finally got to kick it with Megan Giant Ear B., Tony G., Diana L. & the ever-​awesome Mary T. Mary thought she saw Michael O. but it turned out it was just a Mr. Bean look-​alike.
Smoke Shop was the final stop. It lived up to the reputation as the place to be. A certain person who shall remain nameless had never seen The Big Lebowski! Hope I didn’t drive everyone mad saying, «Careful, man, there’s a beverage here!» all night long after I found this out.
The event was wild in the best way possible. I don’t even mind the sleep deprivation.

One of the smaller Unilocal events, which is good because it gave you a chance to get to know fellow Unilocalers better.
I tip my hat to the businesses who let drunk assholes run around their shops and spill Jello shots everwhere.
Zipzap Zubidy Bop!

Kathy Casey shared her cool recipes (trees in drinks!?)! And she made special drinks just for me, the pregnant lady, and everybody got jealous. And then we went to all those other shoppes and I spent way too much money on things I didn’t even know I needed.
Can we do it again tonight?

OK. So Why hadn’t I been in here before? I live right up the street. And I’m a food geek to the extreme. I guess it’s because I needed to be introduced in a proper fashion, Unilocal style!
Kathy Casey is my hero– successful, talented, and fabulously friendly– I’ll definitely try and reconnect with her to pick her food brain and eat some more treats. How about those goddamn Deviled eggs? Who knew I liked them?
Had a ridiculously good time meeting new friends and getting groped by Janeane and Michael O and finally getting to meet the «Ass Burger’ herself, Mary T.
Oh and I think I might have commited myself into purchasing a $ 300 hat rack at collective. DAMN YOU JELLO SHOTS!!!
Thanks to the lovely miss Michelle, the Unilocalin crazies, and all of the fabulous Ballard businesses who happily allowed our drunk asses to paw at their wares! What a great time!

I never knew white feathers could be so festive. Seriously, Dish D’Lish was decked for the holidays; what a beautiful place for a Unilocal function. The poured beverages were mighty tasty, but we stayed away from the Jello.
Those stuffed peppers were to die for. I apologize to anyone I may have offended by greeting them with a mouth full of goat cheese.

Did you even know such a magical place existed in Ballard? The food studios at Kathy Casey are absolutely gorgeous! Which is no surprise when it’s attached to the cute as a button Dish D’lish.
I was fueled up on the most delicious hot buttered rum I have ever tasted and sampled more than my fair share of sparkletini’s. To even things out I was popping delicious crab puffs into my mouth and eating more chipotle deviled eggs than I ever thought possible.
Then it was off to the shopping along Ballard Avenue! Who knew that festive Jello Shots were such a good idea? Oh, I know, Scott K did since we filled his fridge with them before the big event!
