Went shopping by myself at Uwajimaya and was in the mood for Dim Sum but didn’t want to order that much. I stumbled upon this busy little place and ordered single pieces of exactly what I wanted. I had the chow mein, pork hum bow, chicken foot(I know), shrimp Shu Mai and I was stuffed. I asked an elderly Korean lady who was standing if she wanted to sit with me and we had a nice chat about our favorite foods and places to eat in the International District.

This place was recommended to me so I decided to check it out on the weekend. From the looks of it, I would never go in there on my own, but I decided to try it. Like the other comments say, the service isn’t great, but they aren’t mean, just very busy and like to get things done fast. I wasn’t able to try everything I wanted to because they only had a few things prepared and we had to buy what they had out. Everything was pretty average, however, the coconut buns are AMAZING. I will come back here just for those. They are so delicious and soft. I would rate this place a 5⁄5 if all they served were coconut buns.

It was my first time there, and i didn’t have a horrible experience, but i’m not chinese and i felt like they were expecting me to know everything they had and order quick, since it being my first time, i didn’t know what to expect. They kind of rushed us, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable, but i ended up getting what i wanted and paying a couple bucks cheaper than i would have at a restaurant for the same food, if not better. I guess, just a heads up they’d probably try to rush you through your order, so know what you’re going to order when you come.

Nothing mind blowing. Tried a little bit of everything. The taste is pretty standard. I liked the chiken feet. Outside of that, you can pick up your food really quickly. Good to go in about 10 minutes

Dim sum is good, but let’s talk about the service! YOUMUSTTELLTHEMYOU’REEATINGTHEREBEFORE you order, or they’ll charge you for to go boxes and the sauces, YES, charge you SOYSAUCE! Really?! Today, after waiting a while, my husband and I finally took the first table available(4-person table). Mid-meal, a large group came, and a staff asked us to move table while we were eating! We agreed to leave in a couple minutes! But two staffs came again and told us to leave ASAP! The middle-aged Chinese women GRAB me TWICE to STOPME to leave without cleaning the table! Are you kidding?!

Ready for Sticky Tables with your Sticky Rice Cake? Best tasting hole-in-the-wall dim sum in Seattle. Phenomenal shrimp rice rolls and prices are great across the board. We’ve been picking up sesame rolls, shumai, har gou and 2 orders of those rolls for around $ 10. So good! Then, why 1 star? You know what they say, «Any dim sum that tastes too good to be true usually is.» They charge you for individual bags, boxes and sauces unless you tell them«for here» while ordering, they won’t ask. Grimy, pushy atmosphere in there. They don’t bus or wipe down so you’ll have to clean your own table first, every time. Finally, they have no shame having 2 staff ask you back-to-back to move tables for another group on your final plate, then hover while you finish(happened to us today). When we got up to leave, one of those staff grabbed my wife’s arm and yelled in Chinese. Made a scene, seriously awkward and uncomfortable. Happy New Year from Dim Sum King. Truthfully the owner could really have something special here, the food is pretty good. Please fix the deceptive practices, cleanliness and poor staffing behavior issues.

Cheap fast and good food. This place is always packed with people carrying out. Not good for eating on site though. Too bad they close too early and by 4 or 5 pm their kitchen stops producing some of the dim sums.

you want dim sum but all your pals are being lame, what do you do? go by your dolo to a fine local establishment? you might could but why not a la carte dim sum to-go! that’s right people, you no longer have to eat all 4 pieces of har gau AND shumai, taking up precious stomach space for chicken feets and sticky rice! now you can get just one(i hear the Count from sesame street in my head counting out this when i order — «ONEHARGAUAHAHAH! TWOSHUMAI! AHAHAH») of basically whatever your heart desires. they don’t have very much selection(no tripe) but the staples are there(radish cake, spring rolls, etc…) and at a $ 1.60 for a small container, the congee is still a good deal despite having hardly no salt pork and century egg. i love the sticky rice cause they put chinese sausage up in there *pause*. some of the nicer sit down dim sum joints don’t do that no more. shame on them! i’m usually able to get out of here at around $ 5-$ 6(couple har gau, couple shumai, a sticky rice, and an eggroll) for a nice bfast to go. everything costs extra(hot sauce, to-go container, etc… so bring your own container if you remember) and is a la carte. the staff her are typical toisanese ladies(read: hella loud) but quick and courteous(by toisanese standards). seating is limited and it’s bus your own table. less than $ 10 on the CC get’s you $.50 surcharge.

Okay so my friends and I have a serious problem with an addiction to Dim Sum… and Dim Sum King does not help. Is it literally the BEST dim sum in Seattle? No, but is it good? Yes! I enjoy it a lot and for the love of god IT. IS. CHEAP. Dim Sum King opens at 6am and I’m pretty sure they do take out orders all day every day. The restaurant itself is pretty small and very little frills with room to seat maybe 20, but I’ve glanced into the back to see a pretty large kitchen. There are always a fair amount of regulars and locals, which is great. The menu of Dim Sum is not super large and is limited to mostly dumpling-like things. Har Gow, xiumai, steamed rice and meat wrapped in lotus leaf, egg tarts, and more. There are pastry items where some are sweet, and about 7 or so savory items. Their dim sum averages 60 cents a piece so people order by the bulk load. My boyfriend and roommate and I have showed up starving, ordered more than enough food for all of us to be full, and not break $ 20. The most we’ve spent is $ 25 and had leftover for each of us. I’ve only ever really had one thing I wasn’t a fan of but it was because I ordered it thinking it was something else and it wasn’t for me– not their fault though.

For this price, this dim sum is pretty great. We spent only $ 12 on two people and had leftover food. The people at the counter are also very nice! The Shu Mai is huge, the har gow were small, the congee a bit plain… But it was all sufficient to fill me up and have a very yummy lunch!

Such a convenient place to pick up some yum cha snacks for a great price. Often do I come with a few dollars in hand and leave with a box of steamed buns and dumplings. Open mon-sun 7−7p, Dim Sum King offers a variety of steamed, baked, crispy, and dessert style treats for less than a dollar each. But don’t let the ‘bargain’ ethos undermine the quality of food served. It is good, reliably and consistently good. The taste of say, the steamed pork buns is great in all the obvious ways steamed bbq pork in soft dough can be. Other favorites are sui mai, and steamed shrimp dumplings-hot from the steamer and full of contrasting textures and comforting flavors. There baked buns are excellent, crispy on the top with a sweet glaze that sticks to your fingers. Try the fried meat bun for vivid dreams of fried doughy goodness wrapped around sweet and smoky meat. There egg tarts gleam a fluorescent yellow, more daisy than any eggyolk I have slurped– let this be an auspicious sign of benevolent custardy fortune. Less than stellar black tea, bring your own if you care about that. The room has a linoleum Chinatown ambience, comforting in its familiarity. Easy parking in front and around town if you drive.

Food is great! Prices are amazing and they are really nice and patient about explaining what things are. Service is fast too. No carts. You look at the pictures and order at the register. Can get take out or sit in the restaurant and eat. It is clearly a neighborhood favorite for the locals. Highly recommend!!!

Recently visited this place a couple times during the week and a bit disappointed in how the quality of the food has gone down since my last review. I went at different times(early morning and early afternoon), and both times, the food I was served was a bit cold/lukeroom. Given the limited space in the restaurant, I did manage to snag a table to eat at with the people I’m with. Ordered the usual favorites(Chicken feet, shu mai, ha gao, potsickers, baked pork bun… etc) and most of dishes were a bit more bland than usual. The chicken feet was pretty cold, the assorted rice roll was a bit tough and not as soft. As for the potsticker, this thing was huge! But the taste of it wasn’t too memorable. The turnip cake here is decent and a good sized portion. However, it would have tasted much better if it was warmer. The baked pork bun and coconut bun didn’t disappoint. Both were tasty and had a generous amount of filling. For the shu mai and ha gao, both were pretty decent and are still pretty popular. Overall, I highly recommend getting the food here to go and re-heating it up at home if you prefer your food to be hot and fresh.

Convenient for grab and go but not to dine in. The tables are crowded together and it gets really warm inside. The variety is limited but they have all the basics. The lotus leaf sticky rice and shrimp rice roll are the family favorites. Everything is sold by the each and of course they’ll charge you for the to go boxes.

I came here for lunch. I ordered spare ribs rice, one shrimp dumpling and one beef rice roll. The shrimp dumpling did only come with one, so if you want four like other dimsum restaurants, make sure you put four on the checklist. The dim sum was cold, and the rice was soft. The quality was below average but the price is extemely cheap. My entire lunch was only $ 6. However, the restaurant is extemely small. Expect to share a table with someone else.

They open at 630am? GEEZ! I thought I was a little early for dim sum around 9am… stopped by right quick to get some to go… not much room to really sit inside. A few tables are inside but mainly taken up by the old timers that sit there for hours. So I just ate mines on the street outside. Very cheap prices for pretty decent dim sum. Easy to order, they have pencils for you to numerate the items you want on the paper menu. Just hand it to the staff while you are waiting in line, they will tag it & bag it for you and you will be on your way quickly. Pretty fast service to keep the line moving. They seem to have all the items available as they are constantly refilling the steam trays etc. A little sauce station across the line behind you. I got 3 shrimp balls, 2 siu mai, and a steamed bbq pork bun all for just over $ 4. What a deal! Tasted pretty good for the price, so I enjoyed it. I will definitely come back to try some more items.

quick, cute, quaint! Just a small dim sum shop to go. I like the concept as it is an easy place to get a quick lunch. Prices are cheap and you get to pick what you want and for however much quantity you want. The ladies are nice and service is quick.

Not bad at all! Too lazy to wait in line at Jade Garden? Craving dim sum but don’t feel like gathering up friends for the full dim sum experience? Meet Dimsum King! They are open until 6pm and sell dim sum by the piece. While the item selection is limited, they have your basic dim sum things(steamed pork buns, shu mai, egg tart, etc) at a very good quality and price. The ladies are always so friendly. There is a $ 10 minimum for credit card transactions and with how affordable things are here, it’s surprisingly kind of tough to get there. They have a small seating area but I think they’re best for take out.

Only six tables! Most people take their orders to go. We managed to snag a table just as the previous patrons were getting up to leave. This place was mentionde by a family member and I am so tickled to have followed the recommendation. Nothing elaborate, just honest dim sum in rotating varieties throughout the day. My pot stickers were okay, a thick won ton skin that would’ve been crunchy had they been fresh fried off a griddle instead of a steam table pan. Oh, but let me tell you about the Red Bean Sesame Balls! Perfect spheres of delicate, sweet rice dough, fried to just crispy on the outside, filled with smooth, mildly sweet red bean paste on the inside. We tried the filled«pineapple» buns, the long«chicken tail» buns, steamed bbq pork buns, and soft, chewy«bok hong gows»(yummy gelatin crumpet-like steamed cakes). They also offer congee, «jook» in limited quantities. Chow mein was available for lunch when we were there. The steller part that made it four stars is the 70 cents each dim sum pricing! Get as little or as much as you want, at a deal of a price, and served all day. We’ll be baaaaacccccckkkkkk!!!

Walking around Seattle’s Chinatown on Jackson I ran into a crowded Dim Sum restaurant on Jackson St. The prices were so reasonable $.60 to $.70 for Dim Sum. I had the following: Sui mai– pork dumplings Steam Pork buns Har gow– shrimp dumplings All very reasonable priced(fricking cheap) and so flavorful. You can’t miss this place, it is planted right by the Bank of America. They offer to go boxes and you can eat in the small eating area. Cash Only…
