Wow, I really wonder who shops here? And will they be sending their kids to college, or just opting to dress them exceptionally well? Cha-ching! I like the fashions here, and some of the shoes for kids when we stopped in today were actually well priced(a kids leather moc boot for $ 40 and some gold Jack Pursells for $ 40) this past visit. They have some snazzy stuff for girls. I have to say that the pricing on the majority of their fashions for kids is shockingly steep($ 90 cotton dresses, $ 70 sweaters, a $ 36 headband) considering these are kids clothes priced in some cases, even higher than J Crew adult garments, which require tons more fabric, etc. These are boutique prices at a big scale retailer, who can afford to consider their price point. I can see these prices playing well in Manhattan, Marin and Malibu, but geesh, I’m normally not in the market for $ 100 cotton dress for my 7 year old. Mainly I peruse and get ideas. Its not realistic pricing for kids fashion in my opinion, especially considering the great fashions at Gap Kids and our family favorite, Tea Collection. Still, I have to admit there are some beautiful things here. Its far more fashion-y and fun than some of the more traditional preppy adult gear at J Crew. The ladies that work here are always nice and always helpful. Smiling too. Its just the price point that usually scares us away.
