Communique Toys

This place is a gem. Not a huge selection of toys, but a good one. I did 90% of my Christmas shopping for my niece here. She was with me, too, and the staff was awesome in helping me checkout without catching her attention. The staff was so helpful that they not only did the gift wrapping for free, but they carried the stuff out to the car for me.
Also, if you are looking for nut crackers, this place has the biggest selection in Seattle. There are literally hundreds of nut crackers lining the walls. Adorable.

I have three sons, with some good age between them all, and I can find something for each one at Communiqué! The Playmobil selection IS the BEST in the city, and they’re always available to special order something if you need it.
The shop has things for all ages, yeah you’re not going to find every Barbie ever made, or the dream house with pool (hit Toys R Us for that, come on they’re a small shop) BUT you will find some great toys at damn fair prices. Also they gift wrap for free so if you have a toy you don’t want your little one to see, problem solved!
Balloons are a must if you go, sounds corny but seriously hand a cranky kid a balloon and your walk home is so much easier (well, navigating tree’s on QA Ave might be tough but the kid ain’t grumpy anymore).
So do yourself a favor and go, you won’t be sorry, and they’ll be kind, gracious, and completely helpful!

I am going to start this by saying I am busbound, and while I like to shop local its often easier to order online. I saw a store I wanted to try, and bussed over an hour with my toddler to hopefully find some playmobil toys used. they advertised that they had alot. WELL cuting this story short it was a disappointing visit.
I vaguely remembered that Communiqué had some playmobil stuff, and add ons. I hoped I could find a couple pieces for under 25.
When I got there I asked the woman at the counter if it was at all possible if they would do layaway. She went and asked the owner and he was so Sweet and immediately said yes. Layaway means I actually can buy some larger sets for my son and big dreams can be big gifts.
He talked to me the entire time, but not in a pushy or overly watchful way. He gave me GREAT information and their selection is jawdropping especially for such a small store.
I got a couple small items and will be going back with my sweet heart to identify which sets we are planning on getting.
Over view, I showed up already upset and disappointed, overheated and annoyed.

Very sweet staff in this cozy small business. They don’t have the largest selection, but they made every effort to inquire about certain products they might be able to get a hold of.
Huge nutcracker collection lined the walls while I was last in there… not sure I’ve ever seen that before, and was nice to know where I could find some given that both my mom and my MiL collect them. Already referred my MiL there when she next visits, and she can’t wait to go.
Pricey, but within reason. The homey atmosphere and friendly conversation are more than you’ll find at a toys r us or hallmark store.

I *love* this store! They have a great selection of toys, gifts, and stationery.
I was expected their prices to be sigificantly marked up, but to my surprise, they were (on average) about the same price as I’d pay if I were to go to a megastore.
Love that I can find birthday gifts on top of the hill, rather than making a trek to Target/​Toys ‘R’ Us, etc. — that alone would’ve been worth paying more, but it’s nice that I don’t have to.

This is a pretty great store. I find so many neat little gifts tucked away behind other neat little gifts! The best part is that there are wonderful items for kids (wide age range) and grownups.

My boys absolutely love this toy store. It is nice to take them into a shop that has higher quality toys with comparable prices to the big toy stores. Also, shop employees are super friendly and understanding of my boys wanting to stay a long time to play with their amazing Thomas train table. Great selection of Thomas, Playmobil, vehicles, Melissa & Doug art supplies, puzzles, etc. My kiddos generally pick out their gifts for x-​mas, birthdays, treats etc way ahead of time here. It is also a perfect place to pick up last minute gifts, cards and seasonal items. Have found a few of my favorite holiday décor items here as well! LOVE IT!

A nice small local toy store. Nothing special, but that staff is super friendly and they wrap your item for you right there if need be. I’m not sure if the wrapping is free or not as I’ve never bought something as a gift. The selection of toys is small but interesting and they have high quality items. They also have discount bins at the cash register that contain small cheaper toys perfect for that child that can’t leave without something…
