We went with group of 10 people, really enjoyed the great taste of India in Seatle. Good food with great presentation

On most sundays their buffet is good. The best item at this place is Paneer Kadai. Its very different from other places. Their chicken curry is also very good. The service and location of this restaurant is good. Its the best indian restaurant in Wallingford.

I’m writing this review with mixed feelings. We have gone to the Wallingford Chutney’s for possibly a decade. Loved their buffet especially since they offer a nice variety of chicken, curries, naan, and lots of salad, fresh and cooked veggie options. The ambience of this restaurant is also, newer, clean and upscale. Big plus for offering organic options… Unfortunately, at my last visit I found that the chicken leg I grabbed from the buffet was bloody to the bone. What bothered me the most was their reaction to my letting them know. The first waiter hardly acknowledged me. The second waiter made a comment about someone else that ate from there and didn’t not say anything. We kept looking at them waiting for them to take action, a few times someone came over and looked in at the chicken legs but it took about 10 minutes before the finally removed the tray from the buffet. Rookie move. Health violation. You can get someone sick! And I recently had colon cancer! The only reasons a business would not take potentially raw food off a buffet would be because of laziness or because they value a couple bucks of savings over people. *sigh*

Food is always delicious, service is friendly and I am never disappointed. I like the veggie thali and the pomegranate chicken. Nice to have organic menu.

I have always go to Indian restaurant and they’re all pretty cheap. But this one is a bit pricey! But to think of the ambiance it is pretty elegant, good waiters and exotic Indian foods. Will definitely recommend! Taste great as well!

If I could give negative stars for this establishment I would. The owner was extremely hostile and full of bad energy. The food was probably sitting out a long time and very high priced. Avoid at all costs.

Rahman is great! He will definitely make you smile. The food is fantastic too! We love the paneer dish with the mango salad(I’m sorry! I forgot the name!) The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a nice bar with two televisions and a separate seating area if you’ve got a big party. The manager is really nice too! It’s officially our favorite Indian restaurant. Thank you!

As Indian lunch buffets go, this is one of the best I’ve found in Seattle. The chana masala and mattar paneer were both mouth-watering and there were so many vegetarian options I couldn’t taste them all(there are also the usual meat options which I’m sure are delicious). There was good leafy green salad and a large platter of grilled veggies like squash, eggplant, peppers, and carrots that turned out to be tender-crisp and brightly seasoned with what tasted like sage and lemon. Best of all, at the end of the meal there was a separate area for desserts which contained tiny squares of lemon bars, cheesecake bars, chewy caramel chocolate bars and the like. I was barely able to finish the mountain of mango mousse I had heaped into a tiny bowl, but I did, and I added this place to my mental list of Seattle Indian restaurants worth coming back to.

Been to many Indian buffets. Let’s name them. Mayuri in Bellevue. Spice Route. Taj Palace. India Bistro(Roosevelt and Ballard). Qazi’s. Bengal Tiger. And some other place in Bellevue I forgot the name of that was terrible. Chutneys here in Wallingford ranks high because of the cleanliness and quality of the buffet along with taste. Everything they did here was right. The only thing missing is the damn butter chicken. I’d happily trade the over abundance of grilled veggies that are quality they have stacked so high. I’ll have to go to Taj Palace for the quality buffet butter chicken now. :( Seriously bring the butter chicken. And to save people time. The best flavor/consistency(throughout time)/variety/quality is Taj Palace. After that is chutneys/spice route then Mayuri then Qazi’s then India bistro both in Roosevelt and Ballard. Actually Ballard is the worst. Bengal tiger was very forgettable. From what I remember they had a mediocre seafood stew there in their buffet. If they focused on the quality of their butter chicken it wouldn’t be an issue Take it from me. I eat Indian buffets around 5 times a month if not more so I know what I’m talking about. Judge all buffets by their butter chicken quality then you’ll know. If you’re a restaurant reading this I know you’re trying to get rid of the excess food but do make it tasty, clean and presentable. Quit just surviving but thrive too.

This place is the BOMB! I randomly stopped by here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. I believe their lunch buffet was 11.95. It’s more expensive on the weekends. The variety is awesome! I went with a friend who’s vegetarian and she had so many options to choose from. The staff was friendly, the buffet was clean and organized. The dessert options were awesome and they also had orange juice which is sort of random, but delicious nonetheless! I will be back.

Chutneys Bistro in Wallingford(the Wallingford center) is the only Indian restaurant in the Seattle area that has a separate all Organic menu. They have many options from veggie to lamb dishes, organic wine & beer as well as starters and desserts. There’s really nice Organic roti and paratha options but no Organic naan :( I’m sad they got rid of their organic white rice and are now going with brown instead but their flavors are still awesome! They are fast and efficient, nice people and your water glass will aways be full :)

I HATE buffets… except when it comes to Indian food. I don’t eat Indian food often but when I do, I can never just pick one thing. This place has a great lunch buffet at a very reasonable price. Every type of food I had was incredibly delicious. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated. Not traditional Indian but more modern appeal. This is exactly the type of place for someone like me when it comes to Indian food.

For lunch! $ 11 all you can eat buffet. I have eaten here a number of times during lunch, and have been impressed each time by the food. You have a number of delicious options: my favorites are the beef meatballs and chicken legs! They also have very tender and juicy chicken curry to serve over your rice! They have decent deserts for the taking also. The rice pudding and mango pudding satisfy my sweet tooth every time. The service is decent, water is always refilled before it gets below halfway, and the checks come in a timely fashion without asking. I’m saying«4» stars because for the price and the deliciousness of the food, it’s pretty hard to beat! I’ll be back, most definitely.

I’ve been a long time fan of Chutney’s. I’ve shared meals there with dedicated Indian food lovers as well as people for whom it was their first time having Indian(amazing these people exist, right?). Over the years, the deeply-layered, complex and beautiful flavors you would expect have given way to bland and even sticky sweet flavors in dishes where you’d expect savory. Not sure what’s happened here, but I *really* hope they go back to their roots(the owner seems like a very nice man with a ton of business savvy, so perhaps they will!!!). In the mean time, I’ll trek over to Bengal Tiger on Roosevelt where I feel the flavors and offerings are more authentic. ps– This is a review of the buffet. Maybe their individual meals are less Americanized but their buffet used to be much, much better…

Wow! I had the Coconut Curry with Salmon — it was amazing! Salmon was cooked perfectly. Since I visited on a Wednesday at lunch, they had a buffet for $ 8.75. The food on the buffet looked good, but I opted for an entrée since I have a nut allergy and that was the safer choice. Overall though, the food is pretty pricey(compared to the many Indian restaurants in Wallingford). Restaurant was pretty quite. My server could have been friendlier, but I think she was new and training. When I took some of my food to go, the server did offer to get me more rice to take with(which I thought was a nice little extra thing he didn’t have to do). I typically like my food spicy, but not so spicy that I can’t taste the flavors. I got level 2 and it was NOT spicy at all! Would maybe even do level 4(out if 6) next time.
