I only come here because it’s convenient and I do get some Safeway rewards points. Typically 1⁄3 of the pumps aren’t working properly. Many of screens are so worn that it’s hard to see. The place is dirty and not well maintained. The staff is indifferent.

So they finally joined 2003 and installed those new computerized gas pump debit machines. Still this place manages to be complete shite! You’re better off drilling for petroleum in your own yard and refining it yourself.

I’ve been filling up at this location for as long as I can remember, it’s convenient on my drive to work, so I usually stop by for gas. As the other poster mentioned, the only drawback is that you do run the risk of being: a witness/victim to a violent crime, a witness/victim to a petty crime, or incessantly bothered by aggressive panhandlers. Last week, i stopped by, as I normally do, for gas. I started to fill up and decided to go into the mini-mart to get some candy; I have an insatiable sweet tooth for sour patch kids. When I examined the selection of candy, I wasn’t too impressed, so I decided I would just pick something up at Safeway instead. When I pushed the door to leave the store, the cashier stopped me: Cashier: «Where’s the Candy???» Me: «umm. what?» Cashier: «Where’s the Candy??? I saw you over by the candy!» Me: «I didn’t take any candy» Cashier: «You took the candy!» Me: «I didn’t take your candy, do you want to check me ?» Cashier: «It looked like you took the candy.» Me: «You want to check me for the candy?» Cashier: «It looked like you took the candy. Go.» So if this happened anywhere else, I think I would have been(truly) offended, but I’m thinking this guy has been conditioned to be weary of shoplifting and that everyone is a criminal ready to get a free snack. He must be thinking — why did this guy come in the store and buy nothing? Thief! All in all, it was a very typical ghetto experience. I suppose it gives the place character? Two stars for character!
