It was an A+ experience working with Mike Murphy and team.
We came in to organize flooring for a 4 unit apartment building. Our job included carpet, hardwood, and tile. Mike worked with our (tight) budget and came up with a solution that met all of our needs. He was so patient and his communication skills are awesome. was never a hard sell, but rather a collaborative approach of partnering for a successful project. He works via phone, email and in person. He is thorough and timely. And always very friendly. He also coordinated with the SoDo store for us to pick up tiles thereThere for added convenience.
The coordination between sales and installation was flawless. Jay led our install crew and he and Mike communicated perfectly so that it was a seamless experience from the customer perspective. Jay was a similarly outstanding service provider. He came and measured (for free) at the start. His crew was timely. They arrived as planned, worked as long as needed, and finished ahead of schedule. Jay supervised properly. Their craftsmanship is sound and they cleaned up nicely after themselves.
We expect to have plenty more flooring projects and Mike/​Carpet Liquidators will always be our first stop. In fact, we are currently planning a second project with them!

Carpet Liquidators offers a large variety of carpets in a variety of sizes. I needed a size to fit an odd shaped room, so I went there. The staff was friendly and helpful and we picked out a good size, paid and left. Once we were home, we realized it didn’t quite fit. We drove back down and Lewis let us exchange it and made us a good deal. Lewis’ kindness was unexpected and much appreciated. Lewis made two people happy today. And for that I say a special Thank you. Carpet Liquidators is blessed to have great employees.

I wish I could give 4.5 stars instead. The sales team was great! Answered all our questions but also left us alone and were not pushy whatsoever. And they gave us a discount for military too, which is always a nice gesture. They were quick with installation and the installers are a great team! They totally respected our time and property, doing an amazing job and cleaning up afterwards too. The first day they even offered to stay late so one of the bedrooms would be done for us to sleep in, though we then changed our minds so these poor guys could have a break for the night. I only knock them down a little because the transitions strips had to be ordered and they said they would be ready to come back out in a little less than a week to quickly install. Well, we got no call and 3 weeks later we finally called (we were also very busy but definitely should have called sooner at that point) but right after my husband called and the sales team said they would get in touch with the installers, the installers called me very quickly after, super apologetic, and were ready to install that night or the next morning. Neither worked for us but Jay, the installer, was very accommodating to the next free morning I had. I know had we been more on top of it and called sooner, it wouldn’t have taken so long to have them finish the job. Then again, it was also part on them to finish the final detail. Overall though, MUCH better experience than Empire Today, and even when I vented to them about our Empire today experience, they kept it super classy and wouldn’t say anything to knock their competitors, even when a «sales pitch» would have been so easy at that point.

Mike Murphy was awesome to work with and Jay and his crew were helpful and so swift! I found a great remnant and there was a large selection to choose from. I will come back for sure. A great experience!

Talk to Mike Murphy there. He will take care of you well. Good deals too! Remnants, flooring, etc. They can connect you with installers too. I always check here before going to Home Depot or anything.

The prices are competitive here but don’t have them install the carpet. Their installers destroy our baseboard woodwork and door trim. Our job was a two day process. After the first day I went to the store to ask them to be more careful about the install job. They explained that we had bought a thick carpet that was likely to scratch the trim and there was little they could do about it. The next day’s work was worse than the first as though they were going to take it out on me for complaining.
This isn’t the first time I’ve had heavy carpet installed and I know it can be done correctly without destroying the woodwork. No doubt the installers did the job as fast as they could without concern about what they were doing. After all, why should they care, I probably won’t be installing new carpet for another 10 years so. If I was a general contractor that might bring back repeat business they might have cared.
What started out as a good price ended up being a bad deal because now I have to refinish all of my woodwork. I had to give them one star to get a rating, otherwise would have been no stars.
We had a different part of our house done by Five Star Flooring in Bothell and they did excellent work. I should have had the whole house done by Five Star Flooring.

Came in looking for a remnant to go wall to wall in our bedroom. We were pleasantly surprised to find quite a good selection of pieces in our size. Lucked upon a very soft light beige piece that worked perfectly! Found out also that they contract with an edge binding service so our remnant looked like a beautiful giant area rug. Very low pressure sales. We were able to wander around looking at rugs without a salesman on our tail yacking in our ears about thread count & wear & blah, blah, blah. I would go back again if I needed another room size remnant. :)

Look elsewhere. After the sale, CL is not focused on customer satisfaction.
They do have friendly staff and reasonably priced products. But there’s a lot left to be wanted:
* Overly optimistic up-​front pricing
The install quote went up $ 500 once they came out and did the detailed estimate. Apparently they didn’t consider things like «remove the toilet» in the initial price for laying linoleum in a bathroom of a 100 year old home. Newsflash: if it’s not a new construction, then the bathroom probably has a toilet in it.
* Failure to install on committed date
In my business, a missed date is a problem. In this business, once they have your deposit… you’re no longer treated like the customer
* Damage caused during install
Home was professionally painted 2 days prior to install and there were 3 eye-​level gouges in the wall. I called the sales person expecting customer service. What I got in return: you’ll have to talk with the installer. He’s the one who is licensed and bonded. The sales staff here are clearly paid on the up front deal
Update:
Despite that I had perfectly painted walls one day before the install, the installer denied responsibility for 3 of the 4 blemishes that were obviously caused by his team. He was very resistant to the thought of paying for the damage. I’m going to have my painter quote a repair. If there’s an attitude turnaround and I get taken care of, then we’ll up the star rating to a 2.

Level of customer service overall was really poor; in fact you just knew you were being taken advantage of. Katherine was knowledgable but condescending. Made an appointment for professional measurement and guy never showed; CL did not call to communicate. When I called the tone was, «sorry, not our fault». When called to get final quote somehow the cost was nearly $ 800 more than the initial price we discussed. How? I would recommend taking your business to any other outlet.

I had a new sub floor and new Marmoluem put in by one of the contractors from Carpet Liquidator back in 2002. Overall, it still looks good, there is one place where the flooring has bubbled up, and I think this is because it is by the front door. The installer also cut the product a little short and I had to shim the molding so that it would cover the seam. Other than that I have been pretty darn pleased with the product itself.

I’m not sure about these places. Definitely a deal on their remnants but you can probably also get them to reduce the prices a ltitle further if you push. If you need them to install, ask for their BEST crew and try to get them to give a discount OR throw in the pad. They’ll also bind the remnant pieces for you, but again, try and get them to give you a good deal… if they’re truly carpet liquidators… right?
