Cakes of Paradise

So yummy– one of my favorite places to order cake for a party. They always include a fun flower on the cake :) Love the coconut and chocolate flavors– the fruit flavors are a little too sweet for my taste.

God bless this establishment. I only come to get slices but everything I’ve tried is amazing. It’s a birthday tradition. The cakes are light and fluffy and taste naturally sweet. The banana cream pie is excellent and doesn’t have that fake banana taste. ¹¹⁄₁₀

Guava cake? Yes… guava cake… is what I’ve learned, this place is known for. Never had such cake before but willing to try. It was good. Going beyond the dark pink colored cake… the cake was moist; flavor (sweetness and sourness) just right… I kinda like it. Tasted like guava! The owner-​baker was friendly and helpful. Will come again to try other cakes or pies.

They are listed as a 5-​star business here on Unilocal for a reason!
Don’t be the person who throws a party with a boring vanilla cake. WHY would you choose to do that when you can come here and choose from a passion fruit cake, rainbow cake, haupia cake, and much more? Oh geez. My mouth is just watering thinking about the cakes here!
The cakes are absolutely amazing! They are so moist and flavorful.
The employees are extremely nice and helpful too. I had my pickup time set for 1:00 and they weren’t quite done with my 2^nd cake so it ended up being a half hour wait, which I was fine with. Multiple workers apologized to me, which I said was completely fine and I wasn’t in a hurry. Then, even after I already paid, another guy came out and said he was really sorry for the wait and was giving me $ 10 off. I told him that was unnecessary and I already paid, but he insisted and gave me $ 10 back. That right there showed me a lot. They really care about their customers.
I’ve been ordering cakes from here for a few years now and have gone in to get some slices a few times. Yes, you can go in and get slices if you’re a fatty girl like me. WooHoo! Great option if you’re craving cake or else you want to taste test before buying a larger cake.
I’ll see you again, Cakes of Paradise. That I can say FOR SURE!

I purchased the 9-​inch round Chantilly cake for my daughter’s birthday. I saw many reviews praising how good it was and boy were they right! If I had known just how good, I would’ve bought the half sheet. The cake was gone in minutes! Cakes of Paradise was great with emailing me back with any inquiries that I had. Definitely will be coming back there soon.

Yummy! this place is a hidden gem but once you find it, it like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow but instead you get a rainbow piece of cake.
Came here with my friend after lunch and wanted dessert, looked at my Unilocal app and found this place as a bookmark on places to try.
They have quite a selection of slices of cake here. I got the rainbow cake and the guava cake. Yum.
Service was great, she was so nice and so was everyone else. They gave us napkins and forks because they knew people would want to dig in right away.
I will need to go next door next time i’m around to try the Hawaiian restaurant next door.

This is the BEST cake bakery in Washington! I have used them multiple times for large events at my work. Today we had a guava sheet cake for a retirement party. I received dozens of rave reviews about the cake. It was full flavored and just the right combo of guava and cream. I love that it is not overly sweet.
The staff is always so friendly and helpful! They carried the big cake out to our car and made sure it was situated perfectly. I ordered on Wednesday and pick up today was no problem.
If there were a 10 star option I would give it!

One word for this little Georgetown bakery: amazing!!!
It is soooooo good. My favorite is the Rainbow cake. So pretty and colorful. My second fave are the Long Johns. A rectangle shaped donut filled with an amazing vanilla custard and topped with powdered sugar!!! I am always on the search for the best Coconut Cream Pie and this place has one that ranks right up there. The employees exude the feeling of Ohana «Family». Always smiling and cheerful! Attached to this bakery is a Hawaiian restaurant and this morning they had live Hawaiian music and the place was packed. It’s like a secret paradise tucked in little Georgetown! You must stop by! ALOHA!

I was so excited to find this place. They have Hawaiian sodas and treats. Right next door to Hawaiian restaurant, I didn’t try the food. I tried the guava cake and it was moist and delicious, light flavor of guava. Great customer service the lady at the counter was friendly and very helpful and so was the man who wrote on the cake for me.

I am not a sweet person. I’m mainly a savory person, but I can eat sheets of Cakes of Paradise cake. Sheets.
Haupia, Coconut cream, Pineapple, Pineapple Coconut, Mango, Rainbow, Guava. DROOOL.
They also sell individual pieces of cake at Uwajimaya in Chinatown/​ID if you can’t get to Georgetown easily. This is a great option for supporting Cakes of Paradise as well. Right?
Anyway, Hooray for Cakes of Paradise! They have soft, fluffy, light, airy, filling cakes. Every. Single. One.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Their cakes and cookies are to die for. They serve many of the cakes I remember eating in Hawaii. Guava cake, chantilly cake, haupia cake. And they are beautiful. The glazes and bright colors. And they look so moist. The temptation from these beauties is unreal. And so ono. So so ono. The chantilly cake is da best! You can get slices or cakes. Did I mention there are cookies? I don’t know why you would get cakes from anywhere else.

If you haven’t been here yet, it is a MUST!
Can’t decide on which flavor? I highly recommend the Guava cake, it’s my all time favorite. I’ve tried almost all of their cakes and which ever you decide on you can never go wrong. Their cakes are hands down DEEEEEEELICIOUS!!!
Not to mention their cream cheese pies are yummy too. I love the guava strawberry and mango cream cheese pies.

Without a doubt, our favorite spot for cakes! Whether we’re celebrating a birthday to any special occasion, Cakes of Paradise is our go to spot. We love their guava, chantilly, dobash and haupia. It’s always a debate of which we should get so we usually do two. We are frequent customers and the guys know my husband by name. If you haven’t had a cake from here yet, you don’t know what you’re missing.

I hate those guys jk I FREAKING LOVE THEM!!! I first came across them in 2010 and fell in love. They are so nice so very nice so friendly and will make things work!!! I can’t express enough my gratitude for these men. I’ve ordered the guava cake twice, the rainbow cake, the haipua or however it’s spelled, and the orange cake and I’m sorry I can’t remember what it’s called but they have he best freshest cake. Not too sweet and no super heavy frosting ick! This is like cake heaven in your mouth! I’ve never had a cake taste so good!!! Doesn’t hurt that the men are easy on the eye hahaha jk but these are honest business owners and local. Support local businesses. They are good hunny! Haven’t been to Georgetown location yet though. I always went to the Renton one. Awhile ago they needed a 24 hour notice to make a cake and so o ordered one the day before my dads birthday. Well I wasn’t aware of the change and it now required 48 hours. I went and spoke with them and they made my dads cake for him with no attitude. I can’t stress enough how sweet they are. And these are real great island cakes! I’m Puerto Rican and so to be able to have a guava cake was great because my dad hasn’t had the fruit since the last time he was on the island. He loved the cake.

Absolutely my favorite place for cake. Period. The Chantilly cake makes regular appearances at birthdays and holidays in our family but you can’t go wrong with any flavor of their cakes. Sure, they don’t look super fancy but really, who cares when they taste this good?
In addition to whole cakes in various sizes they also sell prepackaged pieces by the slice in pretty much every flavor but you’ll need to get there earlier in the day if you want a complete selection.

I was remembered of this gem when watching King 5 Evening! I immediately asked my husband for a Chocolate Dobash cake for my upcoming birthday. I also had dreams of Chantilly cake, so much so that I had planned a pre-b’day trip for a slice. Low and behold, I found your cake slices at Uwajimaya and got my Chantilly piece.
The cake is moist and flavorful. The icing was perfection and the crunch from the macadamia was enticing. It was worth the splurge for a piece of cake and you’ll want to come back for more. Looking forward to trying the Dobash in a couple weeks! Ono!

Guava cake is a winner ! Light, fruity, and not too sweet! The woman who owns it greeted me right when I walked in and was very friendly. It’s right next to a Hawaiian family restaurant as well so you can really soak in some Hawaiian food!

We got our wedding cake through Cakes of Paradise! Prior to getting engaged, it was my favorite place to get a slice of cake (super flavorful, not too sweet, and very light). A few months in advance, we ordered simple two-​tier guava cake and a full sheet cake. The ordering process was very smooth and I was happy I had one less thing to worry about as a bride!
The cake was awesome! While we only had a few bites of it on the day of the wedding, we heard great things from all our guests (some even going back for 2 – 3 pieces). Our sheet cake + small tier cake was more than enough for our 100 guest wedding and we paid ¼ the price that we would’ve at another bakery.
Highly recommend Cakes of Paradise!

I love cakes of paradise!!! My experience ordering a cake was smooth. I put in my order online and received a confirmation email right away. When I picked up my cake it did take awhile to be acknowledged and helped. There were a ton of pick ups that day due to it being a week of many graduation events, so I get it. But they really do need more than one person working the front for busy days like this. My cake was a 9″ rainbow cake. They misspelled a name but were able to fix it quickly and easily, it looked perfect even after they redid it. I paid $ 35 for it with my credit card.
The cake was super delicious and everyone enjoyed it. The cake is made up of a mango, lime?, and strawberry layers. I think the strawberry guava cake was everyone’s favorite layer.

Despite how good their cakes are, I am thankful that they are clear across town. If they weren’t, I’d find excuses to stop in a LOT. This location is attached to Kauai Family Restaurant with another location in Renton. I stopped in after having brunch with a friend and we both picked up cake slices to go.
She chose a slice of the two layer Pineapple Delight cake (pineapple cake frosted with whipped topping and pineapple filling between the layers and on top) and a slice of the two layer Haupia cake (white cake frosted with whipped topping and Haupia («coconut pudding») filling between the layers and outside then coated with coconut flakes).
I chose a slice of the Haupia and a slice of that beautiful rainbow cake — a three layer strawberry, lime, and orange cake frosted with whipped topping and guava, lime, and passion fruit between the layers and on top.
We compared notes later that weekend and it was unanimous that we loved our choices. The cake was moist and the frosting wasn’t cloyingly sweet. They also have Hawaiian favourites like chantilly cake, guava cake, pineapple upside down cake, and custard pie. The customer in front of me bought a couple slices of a very visibly decadent macadamia nut cream pie. Yum.
In addition to a selection of cake slices and whole cakes, you can also buy li hing powder! As I mentioned in my review for Kauai Family Restaurant, the parking can be scarce but totally worth it.
