I guess food CAN be bland and spicy at the same time. Who knew? Oh yeah, overpriced too.

I’ve been to Café Yumm! in downtown Portland and thought it would be great at this location here in Seattle… I was wrong. The food didn’t taste any different, but this place was a ghost town, including employees that were supposed to be ready for customers. Who enjoys yelling«HELLO?» for service?

I LOVE Café Yumm. I went to school in Eugene, Oregon where Café Yumm is based. It was a college staple for me. I typically order the original Yumm bowl in a large, with extra avocado, extra cilantro(there never seems to be enough), and fried tofu. I am obsessed with the flavor of Yumm sauce… really cannot get enough. I’ve only been to this location once, for dinner at 6:00PM on a Thursday evening. Our party of 4 was served less than 10 minutes after placing our order. When we placed our order, the cashier did not ask if we wanted to add protein(chicken, tofu, tempeh) so my family missed out, as they did not realize protein was an option. I just wish you could order the roasted garlic or chipotle sauce options in-store, as the only option is original sauce.

Wait times are really bad during lunch. And by bad I mean around 20 min for to-go. That yumm sauce though… so tangy and delicious! Between the wait times and fairly high price(for a daily lunch), I don’t come here often. Now I want yumm sauce.

Waste of money. $ 20 for a classic Yumm Bowl, which is basically a couple spoonfuls of rice, beans, five small pieces of chicken, and spoonful of tomatoes and olives. I opted out of the avacado. My fiancé got a turkey sandwich, which was a piece of white bread with turkey lunch meat and a tomato. Didn’t even finish the Yumm Bowl because it was coated in the nasty Yumm sauce. Total waste of money. Went in here because it was super close to the Paramount and we were in kind of a hurry. We won’t be doing that again.

The service was totally fine, but my Original Yumm Bowl wasn’t great. Rice was a bit off, there was too much of it. Barely any black beans. I also paid for extra avocado and didn’t get it. For sure not worth the $ 9 I spent. Might avoid this location in the futures

Yumm. Thus is a good place for a hungry vegan. Ginger Garlic burger is so good. So is the tofu skewer. And they have a vegan Ginger spice cookie to top it off. Yummm is the right word for this place!!!

It was good. I had the classic yum bowl. The portions are a bit small, and the food is a bit basic. Overall good and healthy spot for lunch.

The name lives up to the food and the service. Fresh fresh and fresh… Served with a smile and great food at a great price… I just moved downtown and discovered this place a couple weeks ago. Now we stop by here at least twice a week… If your downtown Seattle give this place a try…

This Café really is yumm!!! A very similar concept to Chipotle where you get all these Mexican toppings in a bowl. Very very tasty and they use fresh sliced avocado as an included choice of topping, nothing extra. They have a really good deal where you get a bowl, and a beer for $ 8, I opted for Blue moon, just a really great, inexpensive meal.

My girlfriend and I first discovered Café Yumm while in Oregon. One night while Googling their Yumm Sauce I found that Seattle had their very own Café Yumm! We have been here countless times since. We live in Kirkland and make the trek weekly Our order: Souper Yumm Bowl with chipotle chili! Their dress toppings consist of avocados, tomatos, salsa, Yumm sauce and cheese. Oh. Sour cream. Olives. And cilantro too. THESEALLCOMEWITHTHEBOWLS. For the healthy aspect I love it. For the yummy aspect I CRAVE it. Will forever be a customer.

Why does food that’s good for you have to cost more than food that’s bad for you? We need more places like Café Yumm around Seattle. I stopped in for my first time today and now I’m addicted. I got a large original bowl with added southwest tofu and looking back i should probably stick to a medium. The staff is friendly and helpful. My cashier recommended the southwest tofu and it was great. I think the prices are a little high, so I’ll probably only eat here once a week. But I’m glad to know this place exists. Branch out guys!

I love Café Yumm!‘s rice bowls. I come here for lunch and the rice bowls are always good. I usually get the jazzy bowls with white rice and chicken. The reason behind the three stars is how expensive the bowls are for the amount of food you get. The bowls are pretty small(would love some more chicken) and the bowls are almost $ 9!!! I would definitely try this place at least once, and would come here often(I work downtown) if it weren’t for the ridiculous prices!

If this was near my work, I could see myself coming once a week! Fairly inexpensive lunch bowls, at least compared to what I would get in say Bellevue for a work lunch. Bowls are $ 5.99−7.99 depending on size. For lunch, I would say medium or large, but it is nice to have the small as a lighter meal/snack option. The bowls are basically just rice with toppings and yumm sauce. All vegetarian unless you add meat. Everything seems pretty healthy. The sauce is high in cals but I think it’s just made from still healthy foods? Anyway, you can add chicken for $ 2 but it’s honestly nothing special and pretty small amount is added. Overall, pretty yummy healthy rice bowls!

The veggie dishes are pretty, but a tiny bit salty. Prices are Great, but if your hungry it might not be the place for you. We got the Large Yumm! baby bowl and the Tempeh Bento. Both were small. Whole dinner was under $ 20 bucks though. P. S. We combined both of our dishes on one plate so could actually get a bit of protein. Kinda lacking in that department. It was like eating a Large amount of Rice with a few tiny chunks of veggies and a small scatter of black beans. Sadly still hungry :(

Café Yumm! is a good lunch option if you’re so inclined to eating relatively healthy. The yumm sauce is delicious, but I wish they would roll their wraps up like a burrito, instead of doing the fold-over triangle thing. It’s hard to eat. There’s always a line during lunchtime, so if you’re in a hurry, calling ahead or ordering online is your best bet.

Tried this place out for lunch again… very delicious! Got me a Chilean Zucchini bowl. Brown rice, zucchini soup-ish on top, with black olives, tomatoes, avocado and that Yumm Sauce. I also got one of their skewers, grilled teriyaki tempeh… I got my order to-go this time and it was still very hot when I ate it, nicely grilled, and served with a side of teriyaki sauce. It seems like its already grilled with it, so I didnt need much of the sauce. My friend had their Reuben and devoured it in record time, so she enjoyed it very much. Pricing is very good, service if friendly and speedy… will be putting this in my lunch rotation!

Café Yumm is definitely one of my healthier lunch spots in the downtown Seattle area. While I’d rather have a creamy bowl of mac & cheese, this café offers a fun selection of vegan and vegetarian options that makes me feel a little better about my dining choices. :P But with all joking aside, Café Yumm is clean, efficient and very health conscious. I try to stop by on the earlier side(around 11:30AM), and I usually end up getting one of their Yumm Bowls. These bowls are available in three sizes and feature layers of rice, beans and more. They can also be ordered to-go for the busy worker. :) My go-to order is the Smoky Yumm Bowl, which comes with brown rice, chipotle chili, salsa, avocados, olives, sour cream, etc. Mind you, when they say«mild heat», they really do mean mild — I tend to add Sriracha or hot sauce for an extra zing! I’d also recommend opting for the medium option — the small bowl is a bit dinky in comparison to its price…

Café Yumm is fantastic! The bowls are so filling and so extremely healthy. If you take out the Avocado and cheese you’re looking at 400 – 500 calories for a medium. The Yumm sauce is dairy free and egg free which is perfect for vegans! It’s made out of garbanzo beans, lime juice, and tree nuts. My favorite bowls are the Smoky and HotnJazzy. Such intense flavors and so very fresh tasting! The vegan cookie is also so good, chewy moist and perfect. I’ve tried their catering for my office downtown and everyone loved it! We will be going to café Yumm on the regular!

Three reasons why I’ll be back: 1) I like supporting NW businesses. 2) I want to try the turkey Reuben. 3) I need to buy the bottled Yumm! Sauce. I’ve read negative and positive reviews and I’ve had a negative and positive experience. My first attempt to visit this location was about a month ago. I came during the noon hour and saw a line almost out the door. I turned away with disappointment, however, I knew I would come back eventually. A long line at a restaurant is a good thing. With my second attempt I chose to come after work. Nobody was in line. I had time to browse the menu. I chose the Jazzy bowl and added chicken. I made the mistake of ordering the chicken because it tasted awful. I couldn’t tell if it was real chicken or that fake chicken that vegetarians eat. I pushed the chicken aside and ate the rest of the bowl because that tasted good on its own. I will return. Just not during the lunch hour.
