Beautiful clothes(well made, well sewn, well constructed — all that stuff that rarely seems important to clothing retailers anymore). Nice little shop in U Village. Marginally helpful staff(their one Achilles Heel). Definitely a go-to place for me when I need something pretty and timeless for a special event, interview, date, etc. Just don’t expect a super friendly/helpful staff when you go in(they’re not rude, just don’t seem that interested).

After a life time of shopping at Boutique clothing stores it gets harder and harder To find many anymore! This store could use a bunch of Nordstrom customer service Ideals– friendly service-forming a relationship and remembering usual faces, be truly excited when the customer finds something just right and appreciate their $ 200, 300+ Purchase. No attitude returns– maybe help the customer find something that will work-and if not– maybe next time?! I wont be going back –customer service and support is really what you should be selling!

Walking into this boutique got me so excited because I love the materials/fabrics used in their designs. But, after looking thru the racks a lot of the styles were flowing away from the body and cut larger for comfort and style. So, me being an average sized woman(12) found that the tops actually made me look larger than I am. There was quite a bit of bulk in some of the tops that would add pounds to me. Also, the theme of the colors were very earthy(tan, grey, black, blue) and I guess my mood was for something more uplifting. One plus is that much of the items found in here were made in the USA! Some items were made in India, China, Bangladesh, etc. but to see anything made in America gets me feeling warm and fuzzy.

My mom and I went to several of the boutique stores at U Village last week. Some of them were all right; one of them was particularly nasty(clerk sneering at our outfits and our request for size XL), but the Bryn Walker store was wonderful. The clerk was attentive without being pushy; she was knowledgeable about the size ranges(for example, I tried on one pair of XL pants which were too tight, but she found a different style which was a great fit in the L). Probably half the store was on sale at the time, which was nice, and it was full of merchandise without being overcrowded. I’ve never been into the Lagenlook stuff but the attitude of the clerk and the clean, easy-to-navigate store is making me rethink this, just because I want to support this store! Now if only the bridge didn’t require a toll…
