I love Boka. The people are great. The drinks are great. The burgers are great. There are lots of things on the menu that are delicious but their burger and truffle fries always hit the spot. Also the cheese curds… seriously, get them. The ambiance is fun(color changing wall in the back) and they have outdoor seating for when we bring the dogs. The service can sometimes be slow, but since I think that’s literally the only bothersome thing, it’s only a problem when I’m hungry.

I am giving this place 2 stars for décor and nice staff. The food was not good. Like at all! I felt like I was a part of a social experiment when it came to the food. I had the salmon which was pretty bland. My friend had the trout and it was a sweet dish with an egg on top. The lamb and frites was pretty tasty. For the dishes I feel like the chef should have taken the Coco Chanel rule which says before you leave the house, take one thing off. In this case, before a dish goes to the customer take one thing off the plate, in this case it would be the egg on top of the trout! I highly recommend staying away from the scotch eggs. It reminded me of what a sponge would taste like if I ever decided to taste a sponge. That being said, the staff was pretty nice and accommodating.

Love love love happy hour here best time to come. So many fun and delicious snacks you can put together. I recommend happy hour if your on a budget since serving sizes tend towards the lighter side. Friendly staff always make us feel welcome. Me and my husband always like to sneak away here for date night the atmosphere is great!

The atmosphere is a pretty weird, like half bar and trying to be classy restaurant thing. We were a group of 9 and there wasn’t really a good place to be seated. We ended up sitting in an outward crescent shape, where one half wouldn’t even be able to see the other half of the table. This place probably isn’t the best for groups. With the dining area being so small, I’d imagine it’d be easy for the servers to keep their eyes on all the tables, but that wasn’t the case. They couldn’t tell we were ready to order and even forgot one of our member’s orders(they didn’t offer to take it off, btw). The food was also so expensive, like $ 14 for a burger, $ 2 more for fries, and $ 2 more for just cheese. I got the fish tacos, and one thing that I did like was that their fish wasn’t fried. However, the tortillas were so small, there was no way you could pick it up like a taco. Even worse was that they had this cream sauce that completely drenched the tortillas and made them soggy, you wouldn’t even want to pick them up if you could. In the end, I just ate the fish and slaw with a fork, and it was just all right — it had some nice spice to it – but it was nothing like tacos at all, and not worth $ 16. They did redeem themselves on the service end, though, by giving my a free bowl of ice cream when they found out it was my birthday! It was nothing special, could have just been from a tub of ice cream, and they served it in a warm bowl, so it melted really quickly. It’s the thought that counts, I guess. There wasn’t a whole lot to write home about, both in terms of service and food.

My friend and I wanted to go somewhere new and this place popped up. I will say their happy hour is pretty awesome for drinks. I got Brussels sprouts and they were good a lil heavy on the horse radish. My friend got their calamari and it was less than basic. The drinks were at a really good price for hh. If I go back it will be just for drinks.

This place is quite fancy. Has a nice touch to it. Valet was present. Food was just delicious! Servers were nice. Good for groups too. I’d come here again.

Atmosphere is cheesy with rotating colors on some of the walls and certain décor selections. Not my style. Burger, cooked rare plus was perfectly prepared, juicy and delicious — meat was great quality and was well-seasoned. Simple toppings of butter lettuce and thinly sliced red onions(which is fine with me) — was told I could add fried fresh jalapeño slices(will do that next time). Comes with no sauce so I added mayo/ketchup combination. Fries are not good — frozen(truly, McDonald’s fries are better). A burger that good deserves hand-cut, fresh fries(even In-N-Out can handle that). Grilled cheese sandwich was yummy but tomato«soup» was too thick and lacked any brightness — it might as well have been tomato paste a touch of stock for its consistency and taste.

Very hipster and trendy bar but the food is good. Fish tacos were on point and I didn’t need anything else to eat.

Great food and friendly staff with the exception of the hostess(Saturday evening shift after 7pm). She was incredibly rude and had a serious attitude problem. Management needs to remind their employees to leave the attitude at the door, even if we are in Seattle. She was obviously upset we had just walked into the restaurant past the front host stand(no one was at the front or in sight to greet us) and then condescendingly asked if we were«actually staying at the hotel» and said she would have to find room for us(even though it was only 10% full at the time). Aside from that the waiter gave amazing service. The calamari was wonderful.

Made the mistake of eating there for their Valentine’s menu. It was incredibly bad. First, the service was slow. It took 1+ hour to get our food. The service staff, during that entire time, did not bother to tell us what was going on, and seemed to be not around. We only actually got bread for dinner about 1 hour into the event. The food finally came, and it was awful. I had the special Valentine menu duck. That was 4 small pieces of lukewarm, chewy duck. No foie gras that I can tell, with horribly hard to chew kale. I took a picture because I could not believe it. Add to that I had pretty bad and blunt utensils to eat with. My wife’s lobster was also lukewarm and chewy. For the prices that we were charged(36+43), it was an awful, awful amateurish food serving and bad experience. For a Valentine’s day meal, you’ve really, really spoilt our evening.

Very limited happy hour selection and happy hour ends at 6:00pm. Drinks in happy hour are very limited, you can only get blended wines(red or white), or limited well drinks. Happy hour does not cover any cocktails. If you are a beer drinker maybe you can be happy with it, but there are many better options in this city. Never again!

We stayed at Hotel 1000 and ate at this restaurant 2 or 3 times. The food was very good, but we only had breakfast here. The staff was excellent. Always friendly and professional. I’d recommend it if you are close by.

My friend & I went here for new years and were super disappointed. They had a fixed menu for dinner and I thought it was a joke. My 1st course pretty much consisted of scrambled eggs and potato chips, 2nd course was a goat cheese & beet salad that consisted of probably ¼ of a beet that tasted like a can & maybe 2 lettuce leaves. then it took almost an hr to get our 3rd course which was steak, after that I was served some kind of pear maybe the size of my thumb and a whipped something that was so hard I was beating it to crack it open. It was all very pretty but hardly edible. The one good thing was the steak but there wasn’t a whole lot of it and we asked for medium and got it pretty rare. I don’t know, if im going to spend $ 100 on dinner id like to be full and enjoy every bite. I wont be coming back.

I came here on NYE with a friend and was very disappointed. We both had the four course tasting menu for $ 75. The food was bland, the beets tasted like they were canned, not fresh. the only good thing was the steak and it was not prepared to my specifications. The worst part was the wait, they stretched this experience out so it lasted two hours! My friend and I both left unsatisfied and ended up buying a pizza later that evening.

First time here in Seattle. Saw Boka across the street from the hotel and was starving. Headed over with the others I was traveling with for lunch. Joe was awesome. Great service, witty and very accommodating. The food was great. I had the lamb meatball sandwich, definitely a must try. Good atmosphere and décor.

Very disappointing meal. We came today, on Christmas Day as we are visiting the city. The restaurant has a Christmas menu so we picked items from the list. The appetizers were very small. The service took our appetizer plates away before we were finished. I got the Mushroom pot pie and its was just some mushroom swimming in a overly salty cream broth. I tried my mom’s Idaho Trout which was over saturated with salt I couldn’t even taste the fish. Both of the desserts were too sweet and tasteless. The our server was pleasant and very attentive, however the food was less than par for the price.

The ambiance of BOKA is pretty cool but they really messed up my eggs Benedict. They made a hard yolk… That’s not eggs Benny. Their chilaquiles are fantastic but a little overpriced. Drinks here are fantastic, try the bitter branch if you like whiskey. Overall slightly overpriced and not amazing cooking(great ingredients though) but pretty cool spot overall. I went for brunch and I hear their lunch and dinner menu are much better. BTW bottomless mimosas are not a thing for home games.

Pricey but good food. Had a Groupon deal so you might want to check it out first so you can save more as it is expensive, cost us $ 75 for two persons 3 meal only. First time my boyfriend at a time came in, he didn’t like the food. Second time, I think it was great! Nice ambiance as well.

BOKA is consistently great. The food and drinks are always good. The service is always quick and polite. The atmosphere is modern and«hip», although on a weekend night you may find a near-blackout gal with her squad of hungry men swirling around. All part of the hotel-lounge vibe, I suppose. BOKA has one of the best happy hours in the city, which is what keeps bringing me back. It’s twice a day, every single day, with food and drink specials. That menu alone, on a Saturday night when you can’t get a seat in most restaurants in the city without a reservation, wins 4 stars from me. I keep coming back for more. Food-wise: the burger is consistently great(order it cooked medium or medium rare).

Wasn’t extremely good or bad. The food and the service was a little bland. I don’t know if its because we were in Sounders gear after the game and only had small bites and drinks or what but from the outside and the ambiance I expected to be blown away. We had the tuna ahi poke and it wasn’t super memorable. Would try it again for dinner, and maybe that will change my mind. The server had to be tracked down numerous times to get things after we told him we just needed a minute to settle. The ambiance was amazing, color changing wall and really pretty inside. Based solely on the food and the service, I give it an EH. Will let you all know what I think after we go there for dinner.

I love this place. Very small boutique hotel with very friendly staff. Had medical conference and ended down their for drinks and food which was fusion Asian and being Korean and being able to order kimchi dishes are a plus after having a heavy meal– steak. Only Koreans would know the feeling I assume. Am I right? Comfort food I guess. They only have valet parking so don’t look for parking at the hotel.

Great brunch spot! I literally never saw the bottom of my glass for the endless bubbles, that’s how great and attentive our waiter, Joe, was. The food was very satisfactory, no surprises there. And we loved the outdoor seating space which is perfect for a Saturday or Sunday morning meal. The only reason for the four stars instead of five is because the food servings were a tad small and left us a little hungry at the end. Also, they failed to inform us that the bottomless bubbles for $ 10 did not include the $ 4 glass of OJ… but it was still a good deal considering I got about six glasses of champagne out of it. Overall very satisfied and would definitely recommend it!

Staying at the hotel and had breakfast. Not impressed. First the hostess ignored us. A bus boy had to get her to seat us although I saw her looking at us she was too busy messing around with another coworker. She sat us at the LAST table near the kitchen even though there were only 3 other tables occupied in the entire place. The menu is limited. I had the bagel and lox, which was ok. My son had pancakes. Seriously have had better at way cheaper places. Even though our AmEx rate includes breakfast, we will skip this tomorrow and go elsewhere. Too many other good places in Seattle to settle for mediocre and terrible service

We actually just sat down here and ended up leaving because the menu on Unilocal was different than their actual breakfast menu. We thought there would be waffles and a bread pudding french toast but they had neither. Since this is what we wanted we left and decided to go elsewhere. They must have just changed their menu but when that is done your menus on your website and Unilocal should change as well.

Overall, Boka is a nice restaurant within Hotel 1000 with pretty good service. I used to come here more often when I worked downtown and loved their Boka Burger(just a normal burger but so good!). I tried a few other items too in the past and remember them being just ok and coming in second after the burger. I came here recently again after a few years and shared the boka burger($ 16) and beet salad($ 12) with a friend. The burger was good, but not as wowing as I remembered. It also comes with truffle fries which I know a lot of people love, but they are pretty ok/normal to me. Pricier burger for lunch though. Since we were sharing, the kitchen was nice enough to split the salad for us on to two plates. Portion was pretty decent even after the split. It was three circular slices of beets and some greens/cheese/nuts to top it. I love beets and these were not bad at all, but I’ve had them prepared better elsewhere.

We stopped by for a quick dinner while traveling in Seattle. The interior appears to be the same, and it is certainly trendy/inviting. Service as friendly by the staff throughout the meal. I especially enjoyed the stone fruit salad starter and the salmon. The salon fillet looked dry at first glance– but they managed to get a thick crust on it. The smoked salmon toast added an additional textural element to the dish. The salmon skin«cracker» was overly salty and unappealing. We also throughly enjoyed the grilled cheese with bacon and the side tomato soup! Price aside, a solid dining option in Seattle!

Brunch Review! Who loves an excuse to have a heavy meal joined with some morning bubbles?! A few things you might want to know about brunch @ BOKA — Reservations probably not required. Around 11:30, the place was still fairly dead.(Don’t ask me why it took them several minutes to help me once we arrived!) — Food is ordinary. I had the Lumberjack omelet($ 14) with potatoes. It was aiight. — Bottomless bubbles, however, is really special. And $ 10. We didn’t take advantage of this as best as we could. — Prices are a little high… $ 6 for OJ … not cool. Especially since we asked for one large and they decided to split for us into two miniature, emphasize MINI, glasses. Boo. $ 10 for a plate of fresh fruit… a little pricey. The restaurant reminds me of one you’d find at a casino in Las Vegas… has that«price gouge because we have modern décor» feel to it. I may come back for the bottomless bubbles but I don’t see myself wanting to return here because the prices seem a bit high for food that’s not very memorable… perhaps to compensate for the brunch cocktails? I’m not sure.

A lot of what BOKA serves is beyond my travel budget. They DO have a great happy hour, and coincidentally my favorite grilled cheese in Seattle. I highly recommend adding bacon and/or avocado to it. While you’re at it… treat yourself to a drink. I’ve never had a bad cocktail at this joint.

If I were to recommend a place for happy hour to someone out of town, THISWOULDBETHEPLACE! The interior design of this place is very trendy and feels like a place where yuppies go — I plan on being one, and I heart this place to pieces! The happy hour menu is awesome — everyone’s favorite must be the TRUFFLEFRIES. I’ve had the kimchi fried rice before too, and that’s pretty decent. It’s no Panda Express quality, that’s for sure! The bartender is friendly and knowledgeable every time we got there, and it’s funny because every time we go there we get that round-shaped booth in the middle! Place can be considered pretty intimate and romantic, so you can take a date or two to here for sure.
