Carlie is magical! Her messages are the best I have ever had and are greatly helping my back problem. She does premium services like hot stones and cups for no extra charge. She is the most reasonable priced message therapist I have met and by far the best! A+++++++

I just love Body Reflects! Carlie is a wonderful instructor and brings such a positive energy to her classes. I know her both in and out of the studio and she is always kind and down to earth. I go to Vinyasa with Carlie and the class is great every time! It’s the perfect blend of challenging yourself but not pushing to the point of stress — the mark of a great class and instructor! I always feel energized and refreshed after a class and am ready for the day. Class sizes are on the smaller side(I believe she has a 12 person limit), but I love that because it allows the instructor to help each person and provide adjustments. The new studio in Interbay is great as well. The studio is open and spacious, but not huge. There’s a nice entry area with a massage room and bathroom, that then leads into the yoga practice space. When you’re practicing, you can’t see people in the entryway, which is nice and prevents distractions. If you’re looking for a new studio, head right over to Body Reflects! I’ve tried several studios in Seattle and BR is one of the best!

Best. Massage. Ever. Carlie is fantastic. I was unfortunately sideswiped by an 18 wheeler in college. Since then I’ve dealt with neck and upper back issues that I can usually keep at bay with exercise and Yoga. My neck and upper back spasmed a few weeks ago and I couldn’t turn my head to the left. I went to a run of the mill massage studio close by — no help. I turned to Carlie. She was able to focus on my problem areas and incorporate ligamentous and fascial techniques in a way no one else ever has. She truly has a keen understanding of the human body that I have not experienced with other massage therapists. My neck feels better than it has in years.

I wanted to write an update for the yoga classes I have taken with Carlie since my last review. As further proof of her whole body approach, she now also offers a variety of classes in her new space. If you get a chance to sign up for one of these classes, you will receive amazing hands-on instruction due to the small class sizes. If Carlie is also your massage therapist, then she will pair these practices together to do even more good work for your body.

Carlie is a great massage therapist, professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable in her studio. Her training as a yoga instructor adds to her ability to address muscle issues and help work through them. Also really enjoyed the music she plays! Not like some of those hokey all-the-same ‘relaxing compilation’ CDs. All in all, a massage with Carlie is a wonderful experience.

After months of untended to knots and tension, I allowed myself to succumb to the supple and steady hands of Carlie. Already internally purring at the comfort of the heated blanket and welcoming ambiance of her massage room, I let myself go as I listened to some mellow music and breathed deeply at her instruction. A warm damp towel was placed on my back to start with, and then, ever so gently, she roused my weary shoulders and with utmost deliberation, prodded those pesky knots down, down, and out. I prefer not to talk while getting a massage, and Carlie was perfectly ok not chatting. The session was both detoxifying and meditative for me. The hour went by with me feeling increasingly more relaxed. And I slept SO well that night. I had two revelations — I simply cannot substitute inexperienced friends to massage my back(the«push harder to get that knot out» methodology is an instant relief method that actually does more harm than good, Carlie said). 2nd revelation — I need to treat myself to more massages! At Carlie Bockelman’s studio. It’s so worth it. Why wait until you’re so stressed, or so tight? I think I need to rethink this idea of getting a massage as a reward and integrate it into my regular health routine. I highly recommend getting a massage with Carlie. She’s very approachable and strong, yet gentle. She works on everyone from stressed out grad students and job searchers to football athletes and parents. It’s just an experience worth having.

I’ve been getting massages on and off for the last 7 years or so. I started seeing Carlie about a year ago at her former location. I’d seen all but one of the 5 therapists they’d had over the 18months I was there and Carlie was the best. After the first sessio with her, I pretty much booked with her every time unless I needed to have cupping done. She’s very friendly, laidback and sweet. She’ll go as deep or light as you want or need and you never need to feel awkward telling her to dig in or lighten up(though, I’ve never had to ask for the latter, ha). She’s also one of those therapists that’s happy to chat the session away or let you fall asleep/doze/trance/etc. Or chat the first half and fall asleep the 2nd half. Whatever. I finally had my husband see her, since he can be really picky about his massage therapists and he fell in love with her too. At one point, shortly before she started her own practice, both my hubby and I told her that if she ever left, we’d follow(intuition?). Anyway, I was so glad when she opened her new place and will continue seeing her as often as insurance and bank accounts allow.
