I took my wedding dress to Beverly and couldn’t have been happier with the results! I had her hem the bottom and add a bustle, but the real work was in having her lower the back of my dress for a more flattering cut. The dress turned out beautifully and I got so many compliments on it on my wedding day!
In addition to doing great work, Beverly is such a nice person, and I loved working with her. She was very understanding, and totally open to my suggestions. I highly recommend Beverly for any alteration work!

Beverly created a one of a kind and beautiful wedding dress for me. I had looked and looked for something that was my perfect wedding dress and had no success. I eventually gave up and decided I would just have one made. I saw a couple dressmakers who were much more ‘bridal focused’ and just didn’t really get what I was after. Once I met with her I knew she was the one who would make my ideas a reality. She was so fun to work with and I looked forward to every fitting. She was flexible and worked with my vision perfectly all while tweaking things to make sure the dress was actually comfortable, functional, and fit perfectly.

Beverly made the most beautiful wedding dress for me. I was looking for something unique and different so when I found the fabric, I brought it to Beverly who put together a simple design that fit me perfectly. She had me do fittings at each step and made adjustments and suggestions along the way. I really liked that she gave different examples for how she could do the bodice. I will upload official pictures when I get them!

Beverly was kind enough to help me out with my wedding dress – with only two weeks to spare before the wedding! Yikes. While other seamstresses were quite rude to me about the short time frame, Beverly willingly accepted my business and was AMAZING. My dress fit perfectly. It was made of crêpe silk and lace. She hemmed the bottom, pulled up the top as well as moved up a pleat. It looked beautiful. I will continue sending brides to see Beverly!

Beverly is amazing. She altered a bridesmaid dress and I am a couple fittings in on my wedding dress. She is great to work with and her work has been great. She is such a sweet person. I had my mom in town, so I did a fitting at Beverly’s and she had brought danish for us.

Beverly is a magician with fabric. I bought my wedding dress second hand and online. When it came, there was no way it would fit over my ribs. No amount of dieting would fix that. Beverly completely reconstructed the bodice and when she was done, it fit perfectly and looked amazing. She also altered my sister’s bridesmaid dress and took it down a size. I recommend her without reservation. If you need tailoring, Beverly is top notch.

Beverly Hunnicutt fit me in during the busiest months in the industry: June/​July aka Wedding Season. She took a custom made wedding gown I had ordered over
and tailored it perfectly to my body. She kept in tack the original style of the dress but made significant changes to the length of the skirt and fit of the bodice. She also changed a bulky, unattractive zipper to beautiful covered buttons.
Beverly was incredibly down to earth, funny, nice and patient. I will only use her for any tailoring I need in the future.

I almost hesitate to write a review for Beverly’s alteration work, because what I love about Beverly is that her prices for alterations are reasonable, and she can usually get the items I bring in done rather quickly. So Beverly, please don’t change what I love about your services if you start getting even more business! :)
On top of reasonable pricing and turnaround time, she’s a really nice lady and I’m glad to give my business to her shop. From reworking the top of a dress for me, to hemming skirts, I haven’t yet been disappointed by Beverly’s work or her customer service. The Beverly Hunnicutt Studio is small business at its best.

I went to Beverly with an idea, a short cotton dress and a crinoline and asked her to turn it into a wedding gown. After spending a half hour at a local fabric store, asking the ladies «how would I» and «what should I,» I was referred to Beverly as someone who is a talented seamstress, but also has an eye for design.
She was thrilled to work with me. She asked questions to understand my vision and after a few trips (multiple fittings) my wedding gown was complete and just as I had envisioned it. She was confident, friendly, laid back, thorough, had great suggestions and took the time to understand what I was hoping to achieve. This was important to me because I had the idea but no skills to execute it.
I would definitely return to her, especially for major alterations.

Beverly was great! I had never gotten anything altered before, so I was a little nervous at first to get my bridesmaid dress taken in for my friends upcoming wedding (the dress was too big around the waist especially). She was so nice and knew exactly what to do to make it look just right. The dress was done quickly and fit great. I will definitely use her again if I ever need anything else altered!

My mom and I got lured into this humble shop after walking out of Rhinestone Rosie. On a table set up in front of the door were some gorgeous cashmere arm-​warmers. As we admired them, Beverly came out to introduce herself and tell us how she recycled cashmere sweaters to make something new from them. We were floored not just by the celeverness and ingenuity, but also because these were garments that looked professionally made… well, Beverly may be her own seamstress, but she is nothing short of professional.
As we explored her shop, she made friendly conversation with us while working on her sewing machine. The shop is small and not exactly crowded with merchandise, but what is there is of the very highest quality. Besides the arm-​warmers and scarves, there were also handmade pillow cases, bookmarks, pillows, caps and hats, skirts, sweaters, and a marvelous collection of Japanese inspired garments made from recycled (and authentic!) kimonos. There are some breathtaking scarves made from real silk obis (kimono sashes) for sale as well.
Having had a horrible experience with a tailor before my wedding, I now know where I will be bringing my future tailoring needs. I didn’t even make the connection that she did alterations until she mentioned it casually as we were on our way out the door, armed with a decorative floral bag with our purchases lovingly wrapped inside. I may live in West Seattle, but I will happily drive to Queen Anne to see Beverly the next time I need a seamstress– or to simply stop in and see what new treasures she has to offer.

Bev is the best! She hemmed my ball gown length wedding dress to hit just the right point so I could wear heels and flats in an outdoor wedding without the dress dragging at all. Her prices are very reasonable and her quality of work is amazing. My dress was a tulle skirt and beaded top so she actually had to hem the tulle and it came out beautifully. She works quickly but with care. Can’t shout her praises enough!

Beverly was super helpful and trusting in every aspect of my wedding dress alteration. Her studio space is comfortable, relaxing, and clean. Very reasonable prices and she does quality work. I had a very detailed wedding dress and she did an excellent job. She took great care of my dress for the time that she had it. I would never have trusted anyone else with my dress.

When I bought my to-​be wedding dress, Beverly was recommended for alterations. She is easy to find, personable, and I didn’t have a long wait. Her pricing is reasonable (especially on Queen Anne!) and she does custom work as well. I may have her design a special veil to go with my wedding dress!
