Avalon Glassworks rocks! I have purchased a couple things for myself, a couple things to give away at our insurance agency, and about a month ago, I got an email from avalon telling me that I had won a drawing(that I didn’t even know I was in!) and to pick what color I wanted, and where I’d like my gift shipped! They have the most creative items in their shop!

This place is awesome. My oldest son is all about glass blowing, it’s his passion, so whenever, and I mean every single time he sees a glass blowing shop, he does not only beg, but he gets so excited, and passionate, that we pretty much have to let him stop and look, so while in the area, he saw signs pointing to this shop, so of course we stopped, and most of the time we stop, he gets ignored because people don’t take a 13 year old very seriously, but the people here treated him with so much respect, they listened to him talk, and the people who were in the actual glass blowing area, would periodically stop and show him what they were doing. For any place to treat my kids no different than any other person who came in, deserves my business. I ended up buying a carrot; yes, you read that right, my younger son wanted a carrot, and so I bought it as a Christmas present for him, and the employee helped me try to keep it a secret from him, it was kind of fun to try to pull off. We will be frequenting this location a lot, they were the best!

Found this place on line when I needed to replace a floating colored glass ball for my Koi pond. Great customer service from the start. The e-mailed me photos of what was to offer. They were happy to change my order after I decided I wanted a larger float. After I finally decided on what I wantd it was at my doorstep the next day — In Los Angeles.

Avalon glass works is top notch! Purchased a few pieces as gifts over the years as well as a large dramatic red vase for myself. I get so many compliments on this one of a kind willow tree inspired piece and it really brings my décor to the next level. Highly recommend!

Great place to buy some locally made gifts at reasonable prices. They have everything from small dishes and business card holders to large, intricate, decorative pieces. The owners have always been very helpful, too. I recommend checking out their events when they have live glass-blowing. Watching the artists work on the featured item is fascinating, and the last time I was there they were actually doing custom requests for the hanging glass terrariums they were featuring.

Looking for a one stop holiday gift for all? Avalon Glass is perfect! We send gifts every year to our family in New York and have started a tradition of glass ornaments from Avalon Glass. They look forward to the new designs every year and can’t wait for this years. I have also given away pumpkins, glass floats and my business favorite– the business card holder. Love, love, love their stuff!

If you’re looking for an unusual, unique and BEAUTIFUL gift — this is the place to come. Especially during the holiday season(Oct thru Dec). They make absolutely beautiful pumpkins, Xmas ornaments, bowls, and ball«floaters», etc. that would delight even the most finicky of family or friends. They also do glass blowing demonstrations, and have great sales several times a year. Keep your eyes peeled for these kinds of event announcements on their Facebook page. Kids are definitely welcome here(mine particularly loves to watch the artisans blowing glass through the front windows), but I *do* suggest you keep them on a tight leash. This is a store full of glass after all. That said, they do encourage you to touch their wares, and they are always willing to answer questions about the art of making fine glass. Grab a shake next door at Luna Park to cool off afterwards(those glass ovens are hotter than the surface of the sun).

I have at least 12 pieces from Avalon Glassworks. I have given several gifts as well. Their work always gets rave reviews. It is also fun to go and see the glass being blown especially for out of town guests. Good job Guys.

I first went to Avalon Glassworks to buy an apple made of blown glass to support the White Center Food Bank but I couldn’t stop at just that! Within a few weeks I ordered business card holders for my office and when I spotted Shannon at the street fair I had to have some glass floats. The shop was very friendly and my kids were totally entertained.

I bought a glass sand dollar for my surfer brother. Very reasonable price for a well-made hand-crafted gift. I love this little shop.

Among a small cluster of shops nestled near the shadow of the West Seattle freeway is the Avalon Glass Works. It’s a fairly inconspicuous place which has a diminutive interior; having a dozen people in here would violate fire codes. From the name, I expected it to be bigger. The phrase Glass Works invokes an image of a giant foundry with hundreds of workers scurrying around huge vats of molten glass. You know, the kind of place where you could commission a massive 50 foot high nude glass statue of yourself for the front lawn. Anyways, the shop has a small selection with several neat items. They range from vases to ornaments to sculptures. A number of these are cool looking, but the price tags tended to be in the $ 200 – 500 range which sort of precludes impulse shopping here. They had advertisements for glass blowing classes, although this may have just been a Mother’s Day advertisement. There was a display for the Four Elements(wind, earth, fire, water) floats. These were interesting: floating glass with shades of blue for the Water floats and hues of red and orange swirls for Fire. The floats have a nice effect bobbing on the waters’ surface in the display fountain. They also have a «buy Four Elements and get the Fifth Element free» special(a Bruce Willis reference?). Anyways, I decided not to take them up on this special offer since I need to save up for that statue on the front lawn.

I wandered into Avalon Glass Works yesterday after drinking a coconut milk shake at Luna Park Café. I found much of the glass reasonable in price and bright and stimulating in design and color. The man behind the counter did not seem irked by the presence of a seven year old ordered to stay in the doorway, and was friendly. A sign hangs on the south wall stating«Please Touch the Glass». While my clumsy self should not be picking up anything over $ 100 made of glass, I found the sign comforting. Is this a destination spot… probably not. But if you are a the Luna Park Café you may want to stop in and see if there is something you fall in love with.
