I have lived at the Atwood for almost a year now. Inside the building is quite and clean. Tenats all seem to be curtious and respectful, which is rare for a downtown apartment. Apartment manager does a great job, she is always responssive and alway greets everyone with a smile. The location is perfect and the price is right. As long as the rent doesnt start going up, I plan on living here a while. The units are pretty small, but thats the cost for living downtown. Outside the building is pretty noisey 24⁄7 and at night it can be pretty sketchy, but I like a little sketchiness(as long as Im watching it from my window). Overall, I think the Atwood is a real diamond in the ruff. For the price and location you can not beat it.

Ive lived at the Atwood for four years now and have seen three sets of building managers and countless neighbors leave. Sure there are a couple of odd people who live here, myself included, but for the most part everyone stays to themselves if you want them too. Rent is fairly cheap, includes utilities and a stamped envelope with your receipt. Although it’s downtown so you only get two garbage and two recycling bags a month. For one person that’s not too bad but for two people it might be hard. I have noticed some newer people leave their garbage in the stair cases which is pretty gross and lazy, but if you take the elevator it’s not an issue. I’ve made friends with many people over the years and have spend time in almost all the different floor plans. The units that face the alley get lots of noise from the wind and garbage trucks, units facing inward get noise from other neighbors and units facing the streets get sirens and drunks. It’s a little annoying at first but if you’ve lived in the area before it’s really not that bad. There is also security in the block so not too many weirdos/vagrants hang around which is great. The only thing I’d like to see change is having a buzzer that let’s people in. Right now people can call you, but you have go down and let them in. I wasn’t sure if I should give the building a three or four star review, but the view from my apartment(and most of the 5th story apartments) is pretty amazing! It’s going to be hard to give this place up!
