Wayne is the best. The company I work for does a lot of business with them due to his high quality merchandise, excellent customer service, and professionalism. Great prices and the number one place to consign your furniture!

Despite some of the negative reviews, my boyfriend and I were very pleased to find this gem. Wayne was very knowledgeable, kind and helpful. We ended up buying a great bookshelf at a reasonable price. The quality of furniture and price point were spot on for us. I will definitely be returning.

Great items at great prices. Why pay for staging when you can own the items. I bought 2 beautiful chairs and now I’m going to buy a beautiful table. Wayne is a great guy.

I had a great experience here. Not everything is vintage and some sellers have crazy ideas about pricing. But after a day of checking out consignment shops, this is the one I plan to comeback regularly.
The prices have a time mark down system right on the tag so you know how long you have to buy it and how long you may have to wait till the price is reasonable.
The collection is diverse and in very good nick.

I have been in this store about 5 times in the past 2 years. The inventory is rather mediocre and ridiculously overpriced. I am always on the search for something fabulous, but have never found it here. The strange thing is the absolute lack of customer service. The salespeople are very unfriendly. I don’t expect a conversation, but some acknowledgment is critical in operating a retail store.

We found a fab couch here and left it to continue our search. We couldn’t stop thinking about it and went back for it a few days later. We dealt with 2 ladies who were very nice. They had a van to rent on site and helped us load it. The store has a good selection of women’s clothes and we thought the pricing for furniture was hit or miss. Some pricey items but also some deals. I like the pricing structure where you can see how long the item has been there. I’m actually surprised I haven’t seen this more locally. We will definitely be back (and love our couch).

Wayne is a pleasure to work with, I have both bought and consigned items with him. He has an eye for quality and therefore you don’t have to sift through junk to find the good stuff — all of the items are gems!
I will continue to consign and buy items with Armadillo. I highly recommend them.

I dropped off some clothes and had to ask numerous times for payment, even though they said my clothes had sold. Very inconvenient. This is also a very pretentious place, and the people seem to think that they are some kind of upscale boutique rather than a consignment shop. I did not feel comfortable there. The people who work there are not friendly, not open, not helpful, not welcoming. They want to make money from you. They make it very clear that their goal is money, and you better make sure that you help them make some. Even then, they are certainly not friendly. I don’t know about the owner. He seems to be hovering around, looking at what’s going on, never openly involved with customers. Not a good experience for a consignment shop.

I saw my kitchen table from IKEA at Armadillo’s priced at higher than I bought it for brand new. The pricing at this place is ridiculously high and makes no sense. This is a consignment store, not a high-​end retailer. If you are interested in an item, do your research and price check. Not impressed at all.

When I have shopped at Armadillo the owner is very friendly, helpful, and courteous. He’s obviously busy but takes the time to make sure every customer feels welcome.
This may be a new weekly/​biweekly stop for me as I’m furnishing my place. Armadillo seems to have a very carefully edited collection of furniture and none of it is junk.
All items appear to be quality and in good condition. Yes, the prices are on the higher end but considering the products they are consigning I think the prices aren’t unreasonable.
I just purchased a c. late 60s early 70s Saarinen office chair and an end table here. I LOVE the chair and think both were very reasonably priced! He takes offers so don’t be afraid to ask.
I can’t wait to see what else rotates in. Their focus is Mid-​Century Modern.

Since my first couple visits I have been back and found a few décor items. I love this store! Their inventory turns over FAST so be sure to check back periodically and not judge the store based on a single visit.

Gotta get my Armadillo fix! Inventory changes regulary, prices are more than fair w/​markdowns after a certain amount of time on the sales floor, quality is good and I think over time the selection gets better and better. Its a warehouse style space with womens, mens clothes and lots of furniture, accessories and household stuff. I always find something when I come in, usually an armload or two of clothes and I’ve purchased a chair, an entertainment center, and lots of small items over the years. Theres a few pcs I use every day actually. My best chefs knife came from there and I bought a beautiful set of handcrafted green bowls when he first opened that i use all the time. I’m always happy with my finds and feel that shopoholics sense of satisfaction when i get it home and all laid out. I love to shop and find the variety fun and interesting. I always wonder what I’m missing when I don’t go in for a while. Staff is friendly and the owner, Wayne, is super nice and not so hard on the eyes either ladies *wink wink :) I would definately recommend Armadillo.
Oh yeah, they have parking too!

This place is great. I was surprised to see some of the low reviews. My husband and I had such a positive experience here. Although the prices are not as low as some of the thrift stores in Seattle, this place is a little jewel if you want to buy furniture and household knick knacks. We found a beautiful wood dining set here. initially, we were on the fence about it because we wanted another set. Wayne was very patient in showing us the table and corresponding with us back and forth over the two weeks to let us know that it was still available. He gave us a good price for the entire set and delivered it problems free. On top of it all, he even took the time to help us set up the table. We were blown away with not only his professionalism but his generosity in being willing to go the extra mile to help us. We are truly thankful to Wayne! Our dining room now looks beautiful.

Love this store, quality products, customer service is awesome. This is a great place to find whatever you need, for your home or apartment. I recommend this place,

I wanted to write an update for my last review. Wayne, the owner of the store, contacted me and offered to discuss in person to resolve things. I appreciate that and liked his non-​blaming attitude. I do hope that my review brings the business up a notch. Thanks for your sensitivity, Wayne!

My review of Armadillo Consignment is from a shopping perspective, not a consigning perspective.
The biggest downside for Armadillo Consignment is the price-​point for most of the items. Based on the selection, quality, and condition of the items, I think they’re in the over-​priced range.
When I go to a consignment store, I look for selection, quality, condition, general cleanliness, and odor.
This is my general perspective of Armadillo Consignment:
*Quality & Condition — In general, below average when compared to surrounding consignment shops. Most of the items seemed to be in «good used condition.»
*Selection — Below average (which can change daily. However, I found the selection underwhelming.)
*Cleanliness — About average
*Odor: About average
Based on the general price-​point and my accessibility to competing consignment shops, I won’t visit Armadillo Consignment again. However, I love the shop logo.

I’m not sure why everybody is coming down so hard on Wayne and his store. He works hard. His store is very well maintained and he picks out what furniture would fit best in his store and just doesn’t take every piece that comes through his doors. Just because it’s a consignment store, doesn’t mean prices will be low. Every mid century store in Seattle does consignment, so travel around to the other stores and when you return to Wayne’s store, you’ll see his prices are more then fair. This is not a thrift store and I’m not sure why people think that. People complain about his prices, but I purchased many items from him over the last 5 years and was always given a great deal with great service. I’ve compared his prices with other consignment stores and his store is fair compared to the crazy prices Ballard Consignment gets, bigger is not always better. I’ve moved down to LA and was pretty disappointed about all the bad reviews Wayne has gotten and clearly does not deserve. His store has been around for a long time and he treats everybody the same, that’s what I like best about him. Plus he cares enough to write a respond back to an unhappy customer.

I doubt anyone takes the time to sabotage a small business on Unilocal!My review was 100 percent true and only makes me want to tell people this business is even worse than I thought. parking is bad-​the street parking is a narrow and dangerous and only a few actual parking spots in the lot. don’t try to discredit an opinion it is just that you cannot counter act it with what you think is fact because it is not, it is also your opinion. Seems like a good consignment store with lots of interesting furniture pieces. They seem to focus on a certain intersection of modern and contemporary that fits a lot of people’s style. I would definitely go here if I was looking for furniture.
They do have a section of clothing and shoes, which wasn’t quite as interesting to me. It was kind of crowded and really didn’t look that appealing. To me the clothes could go away and they could focus just on home stuff — obviously they have more of an eye for that.
I haven’t bought from this store yet, mainly because I don’t need any furniture — my review might change if I do buy something.

I was referred to Wayne at Armadillo Consignment by a friend who works in the interior design business. I have been in the service industry for over 25 years and must say, Wayne is the real deal. I had a unique situation with some very unique pieces and Wayne went far above and beyond to help me. He is very good at what he does and is extremely detail oriented and savvy.
Wayne believes in service. He has a calm demeanor and a quiet confidence about him and makes his living on referrals from happy clients. He will go the extra mile for you.
