Ann Marie Pet Au Pair

Anne Marie is great! She ensures dogs will fit in with her pack before accepting them and she is very accommodating to dogs with special needs (medications, old, sleeping arrangements, etc.)
Anne Marie was able to take my dog on short notice when my grandpa passed away. Her rates are reasonable and she lets my pooch sleep in bed with her. She sends updates and pictures while I’m away so it puts me at ease knowing my dog is in good hands.
She has a large fenced in back yard for the dogs to play. Her front yard is also fenced for when dogs need some alone time or a time out. She even washed Lucy’s blanket before I picked her up.
I use Anne Marie for all my sitting needs.

My wife and I love our dogs. We have two Shetland Sheepdogs that are our babies. We make sure they get the best love and attention they can possibly receive. So whenever we go out of town we make sure they are properly cared for.
My wife and I were first introduced to Ann Marie during a few Pawsitivity dog training classes she was assisting with. Now it just so happened that my wife and I were going to be out of town for three nights and needed a place for our dogs to stay. Normally we take our Shelties to a PetSmart Pet Hotel, but when we learned that Ann Marie specialized in dog boarding, we decided to give her Pet Au Pair a try.
The first thing that resonated with me about Ann Marie’s Pet Au Pair was that she required all dogs to be interviewed. She will not accept dogs that will not get along well with others. Now any person that will turn away business for the benefit of the dogs they are entrusted with has truly got to care about them. Her priorities are first and foremost to the dogs.
The second thing that resonated with me was that her facility was perfect for our Shelties. As natural herders, they love roaming freely outdoors, especially with other furry creatures they can put their herding instincts to work on. Ann Marie’s facility is divided between a front yard and a back yard with ample room for dogs to run around in. The entire property itself is securely fenced off and free of any potential health risk to dogs. Ann Marie goes as far as to ensure that the garden hose she uses to fill up the dogs’ outdoor water bowl is free from any metallic contaminants. Indoors she stocks an array of crates and bedding for whatever indoor treatment your dogs are accustomed to.
Third, Ann Marie has a very detailed set of forms for her clients to fill out: everything she needs to know from you on how your dogs should be cared for. Every dog is different – even two dogs of the same breed – and she makes sure your dog’s specific needs are met to the letter. The forms are quite extensive and cover everything from previous medical history to individual phobias your dog may posses.
Finally, and most importantly: Ann Marie LOVES dogs! That extra bit of TLC that some pet hotels charge you for? – that’s all part of the experience at Ann Marie’s Pet Au Pair. She was already playing fetch with one of our dogs during our initial interview. As much as the interview was for her to get to know our dogs and make sure they were compatible with the other dogs under her care – it was the perfect opportunity for my wife and I to observe her caring techniques and experience exactly what our dogs were in for during our trip. After our initial interview we both knew that our dogs were truly in loving hands.
But proof is in the pudding. Once our trip was over and we picked up our dogs, not only were they sad to leave Ann Marie’s (it was like trying to convince a child to go home with you after a trip to the playground) – as soon as we got both our Shelties home they were out cold on our living room floor. The poor babies were all tuckered out. No doubt they had a blast with Ann Marie and the other dogs at her Pet Au Pair.
Honestly, I’m not sure who had more fun during our trip – us or our dogs. (Let’s call it a tie!)

Ann Marie’s Pet Au Pair is an absolutely perfect place for dogs, either as a dog daycare or for boarding. Our two dogs come here three times a week and they love it. I’m not certain how we would raise our terriers without Ann Marie — she has become an extension of our family. For the first time ever, I’m able to relax and enjoy my vacations without worrying about my dogs.
Ann Marie’s Pet Au Pair is a home environment with a fenced front and backyard. The fence is reinforced below ground level to keep digging dogs safe. For dogs who like to dig, Ann Marie has a designated digging area in her backyard. Inside the house, there are multiple dog beds and a sofa with a dog blanket so dogs feel very much at home. The number of dogs varies with an average of four to eight. The house always looks and smells clean despite all of the dogs; I believe Ann Marie washes all of the rugs and dog beds every other day. Aside from stepping out to do the occasional dog walk or training session, Ann Marie is at home with the dogs during the day and they receive plenty of attention.
Our dogs, Teddie and Oliver, really enjoy playing with the other dogs and being part of a pack. They whine with anticipation as we get close to Ann Marie’s and they bound into her yard with enthusiasm when we arrive. Teddie and Oliver have a regular set of dog friends they look forward to seeing weekly at Ann Marie’s. Nearly every day, Ann Marie sends pictures or videos of the dogs having fun. When we pick them up to go home, she carries them to the car and ensures they are strapped in safely, always taking a moment to hug them goodbye.
We’re very grateful to Ann Marie for how she handled a medical emergency with Teddie. With no history of health issues, and being just two years old, it came as a shock when Teddie had a seizure at Ann Marie’s. Ann Marie immediately rushed Teddie to the vet which is just a few blocks from her house. Teddie had lost consciousness during her seizure and was unresponsive to Ann Marie’s attempts to revive her. Fortunately, Ann Marie acted quickly and was able to have Teddie seen by a veterinarian literally minutes after the seizure. She cancelled her dog walks and other commitments for the day and remained actively involved in dealing with Teddie’s medical emergency. Ann Marie is extremely devoted to the dogs in her care and we will always remain so thankful for taking such good care of Teddie on that awful, frightening day.
In conclusion, I really can’t say enough wonderful things about Ann Marie’s Pet Au Pair.

Ann Marie was one of the trainers in my puppy’s charm school. Our first night in class we found out that Ann Marie boards dogs during the day too.
Ann Marie’s Pet Au Pair has been a godsend for us! Not only does our puppy love, love, love her, she takes the time to do things for him that we don’t even ask her to do. The hair around his eyes had grown real long and she trimmed it one day. Her knowledge about dogs is invaluable and all the tips I got from her every time I picked Yogi up were fantastic! She loves all her dogs which she boards and it shows. My husband and I are crazy in love with our puppy and hearing the way Ann Marie talked about him, we felt she genuinely enjoyed him, too! A lot of the time, Ann Marie sent me videos and photos of Yogi during the day to let me know he was having a great time with the other doggies there. We also noticed that since we started bringing Yogi there, he’s had less accidents at home and has learned from the big dogs that he has to go potty outside. His overall behavior seems to have improved!
Ann Marie’s Pet Au Pair is a wonderful, trustworthy doggie daycare and exactly the kind of place where you want to send your baby when you can’t be with them.
