Above the Bar Tutoring

I have been very fortunate to have found Amanda as a tutor she has drastically changed my life. I’ve had a traumatic and discouraging experience with school due to having a learning disablility and having to change schools often; Eventually, I dropped out of high school and had an education of a 5^th grader. The only math I was able to do was addition and multiplication. This is not an exaggeration. My English was so poor that I didn’t use commas, or periods, or any grammar
for that manner, so as you could imagine, it was looking hopeless and I saw no future for me. I pictured my life working with the labor ready compony with others who also were as educationally declined like me. This had brought about deep depression and low self-​esteem. However, when all seemed hopeless, Amanda offered to tutor me which she devoted many hours teaching me the basics of math and english. I had excelled in both subjects. Thanks to her, I’m now am currently enrolled in college with 3.6 GPA. I had gotten A’s in both my English classes and currently enrolled in calculus. I have my General education and my associates degree with a transfer to the university of Arizona. This was considered by friends, family, and even some teachers to be impossible. I had been tolled and seen as mentally handicap and unable to succeed in the educational field. All had lost hope including myself except for a devoted wonderfully tutor named Amanda who believed that everyone is capable of learning and that it was only a manner of filling in their educational gaps. I’m living proof that a tutor especial one as brilliant and skilled like Amanda can take anyone and change them from a failing non-​successful person into a well adjusted and successful one. I like her to know personally that she has made me who Iam today.

My high school age child has ADHD and mediocre grades. His dad and I have tried everything we can think of to help our son do better in school (and life). I must admit he has a contrary attitude and didn’t really appreciate our help/​interference. Finding Amanda at Above the Bar Tutoring has been a real Godsend. He immediately recognized that she knew what she was doing, that she could help him where he needed help, that she liked him just the way he was and was willing to meet him half way. My son is very picky about who he can learn from and he finds Amanda to be intelligent and able to explain complex ideas very clearly. I’m not going to kid you and say he’s now a straight A student, but he’s still in the game. He’s trying in school and finding some successes. I have referred friends to Above the Bar and they have been very happy as well.
