Stopped by this place after a not so great brunch nearby. The lattes are good here as well as the triple chocolate cake. Nice atmosphere but felt kind of put off by the staff. It seemed I was interrupting her day by being there.

My husband and I got married on Epic Pi Day, so we thought it would be super fun to have pies instead of cake at our reception. I had fond memories of 3.14 Bakery from when I first lived in Seattle back in 2012. It seemed only logical to get our pies here. I placed an order for 4 pies:(apple, cherry, strawberry rhubarb, marionberry) and about 30 – 40 cake balls(peanut butter & chocolate, triple chocolate, red velvet, carrot cake, and vanilla). I jokingly asked if March 14th was a busy day for pies and probably shouldn’t have been surprised when the lady behind the counter vehemently said yes. We didn’t even cut into the marionberry at the reception and even after making doggy bags filled with cake balls to send home with guests, we still had a ridiculous amount of dessert left. The apple and strawberry rhubarb were wonderful, definitely the best ones of the bunch, and the cherry was a close second. By the time we finally tried the marionberry, it was probably a week later and it, sadly, was not as good as it should have been, through no fault of its own. As for the cake balls, well, they weren’t what I remembered, but perhaps I was on sugar overload and my body was just rejecting it. I don’t know. I bit into a red velvet and ended up cracking the frosting shell off of it to eat the cake out of the middle. Three years ago I probably could have eaten 3 or 4 of these in one sitting, but now, no way. They are delicious but a bit much. I enjoyed the carrot cake the most. I didn’t really pay attention to the cost of each individual item, but the total was around $ 120, which I found reasonable, even if it turned out that I ordered way too much. Everything survived a 2-hour trip out to the desert in eastern Washington, and the guests loved it all, so I call that a win. My only regret is that I never got to try any of their seasonal pies. Someday I’ll be back. Until then, I definitely recommend them for any sort of event, or well, if you just want pie.

The service is always friendly, and the lattes are pretty good. The peach and cherry pies are wonderful, and I’m in love with the marionberry! The raspberry bars are good too. The only detraction is that the pastry selection is sometimes disappointingly limited. I’ve been in around 9:30 on a weekday to a practically empty pastry case. What’s there is yummy though!

Easy to find, might be a good idea to call if fresh pie desired. I and Wife shared a mini cherry. A good cuppa joe. A place to knit, crochet, let the kids play on the carpet. Strong wifi and a nice place to relax.

Im a bit surprised by other Unilocal reviews that this place has been around for years. I was in around noon and there were barely any baked items available. i get it that its a small mom n pop but there wasnt much variety. The place looks like new start-up. it also looked like it was set up as a daycare on the right side as you enter. the place doesnt seem to have any theme or atmosphere. I saw commercial ovens so my guess is that they wholesale to other cafes or stores but i would like for a sit down place to be more comfortable than an elementary school cafeteria. the espresso wasnt great, service is typical Seattle(pretty friendly and welcoming). I wont be back but this place would be cool for locals who live nearby or events should they/if they utilize all that space for events.

Where’s the pie? We stopped by this morning on NATIONALPIEDAY. There was only ONE pie ready to go and they had no slices left. We were told that there was one berry pie coming up in 20 minutes and an apple in an hour. Granted, there were 3 people in the store, but it was ½ hour after they opened. Did they not think anyone would want pie today?

Num! My friend brought over a pecan and apple pie for thanksgiving dinner from 3.14 bakery. Holy crud! They were both unbelievable. Am going to have to go back and try what else they have to offer at their bakery.

I’ve called all over Seattle looking for a Boysenberry Pie and this is the first place that stopped me from moving on to the next call to offer to get the berries and make the pie. I have family that grew up in Seattle and on Boysenberry Pie, traveled here from Uganda, and has a long standing craving for it. Even if they can’t get the berries, I’m thrilled by their customer service and friendly attitude.

This is the pie you wished your mom made. As a pie lover and snob, I am most qualified to tell you, that indeed, this is some damn fine pie. I waited waaaaaaayyyyy too long to finally pop in, and admit that from across the street, I was thrown by the signage and exterior storefront. But, don’t worry, drivers by, it completely belies the hand-hewn goodness found within. We came in on a sunny weekend early afternoon, the place– and cases– were almost empty. But fear not, little ones, there was pie to be had… and had it was. I had the choice of apple, strawberry rhubarb and blueberry. Now, the blueberry was tempting but she mentioned she had hand pie sizes of it just out of the oven in back, so to maximize my pie tasting options(always a Clover concern), I ordered the strawberry rhubarb and the kiddo/guy got the apple. Blueberry to go, natch. I also had to sample one of their cake balls. I like a cake ball sometimes, but most are gooey and weird, these however(spoiler alert) were perfect. Chocolate cherry was the one I went with and it was like a cross between some fine fudge/flourless torte/cake that was heavenly in texture, well balanced in flavor and just damn good. But the pie, I must get back to the pie, right? Yes. I must. The strawberry rhubarb was absolutely 100% WINNING. I couldn’t believe their ability to get the two flavors in the exact right ratio, not gooey, not too firm, but like Goldilocks, I was ooh-ing and ahh-ing as I had found the one that was just right. The apple, not my favorite of pies, was cinnamonly delicious. The apples all kept their shape but reduced easily with a bite to a delicious mash in my mouth. It almost changed my mind about apple pie. But I’m skipping something, right? One key discussion point that any pie lover is awaiting on the edge of their seat. Doubting me as a pie-master if I haven’t talked about it, and smugly about to comment… BUTNO, I KNOW. I UNDERSTAND the MOST important part of the pie. The crust. The lovely, flakey, buttery, just the perfect ratio of dry to moist, of sweet to a hint of salt, the kind that you relish eating a whole bite of even if the filling is gone. Oh, yes, my lovelies, it’s the crust dreams are made of. Oh, I scarfed down the blueberry at home with some ice cream, it was also about damn perfect, the only complaint is I didn’t get two, but that’s on me, a mistake I won’t make again.

Love this place. Really delicious homemade flavor without the feeling of a lot of chemicals or preservatives.

I arrived in White Center and thought, «Where the heck am I?» I thought I drove 20 minutes and somehow landed in East L.A. Okay, that’s a far exaggeration, but exaggerating is one of my most favorite things. However, I am NOT exaggerating when I say the cake balls here are amazing! You would have never caught me saying this before 3.14, but I could shove these delectable moist balls in my mouth all day long. Except for probably not because they are pretty rich. Irregardless, someone brought left overs from their wedding to my practicum site and I had to find out where it was and go. The shop itself is pretty big, but looks a little scattered and empty, some lacking of decoration, and the treats cases are pretty small too. That doesn’t seem to matter though because everything looks so delicious that I almost strayed form my beloved balls. I felt that the prices were good, and seriously one $ 1.50 cake ball with coffee will fill you up. The service here was ridiculous friendly, patient, and helpful. I would maybe knock a star for location, because I would come here all the time if it was closer, but then again, maybe it would be way too busy in that instance, so I won’t let that reflect in my rating. Go here, get some treats, a coffee to go with it, and some balls for the road!

3:14 What does it mean? Well dunn pie Hahaha, Love the name of the place, the owner is a math teacher, if you couldn’t tell. It’s a great little shop with home made bakery. It’s a fun place for a local town like white center. The only down side is that, there wasn’t much to offer, the place is huge would thought they had more to offer. Key notes. Good little coffee shop, just not enough to offer

It has taken me way too long to stop by 3.14 Bakery, especially given that it is just a short walk away. A friend offered it as an option for coffee this morning, though, and I was all over it. Walking into 3.14 reminds me a lot of small bakeries and coffee shops in small towns. There is something very homey and down to earth about the venue with the vintage table clothes and collection of antiques on the wall and the smell of coffee and homemade baked goods. In line with other reviews, I was incredibly impressed by the friendliness of the woman working behind the counter who quickly abandoned her work on pies in the back to come and take my coffee order and grab me a pecan roll. The coffee was excellent, and the pecan roll reminded me of the ones my grandmother makes. Excellent homemade bread dough, just the right amount of cinnamon and and incredibly caramel and pecan topping. Soo good, especially with coffee and a good book. I look forward to returning and exploiting the slice of pie and coffee special. :-) I do wish that they were open later. A late night place with coffee and pie would definitely get my business.

I had purchased a Dealpop voucher($ 30 for $ 15) awhile back for the Pi Bakery. This morning, I thought it would be fun to head over there to have morning baked goods. My family of 4: husband, tween girl, adolescent boy, and myself enjoyed our trip. First, the parking on the street outside is «back-in only.» The sheriff’s car(with sheriff inside) was parked in a spot labeled«sheriff’s parking» across the street from 3.14. Both of those are just odd and really have nothing to do with the Pi Bakery, other than if you aren’t from the area, it’s kind of nice to know. I have never seen«back-in only» street parking in my life before. I thought there would be a larger selection of morning baked goods. We got there on a Sunday morning a little after 9, so it was not as though they were sold out. I had a cinnamon roll(does not come frosted, but is re-warmed in the microwave) and a drip coffee. My husband had a pecan roll, also re-heated in the microwave, and a peanut butter cookie. Tween daughter had a triple chocolate cake bite and a chocolate chip cookie with a kids hot cocoa. Adolescent son had a peanut butter and chocolate cake bite with a kids hot cocoa.(Yes, we let the kids have cake and cookies for breakfast. Probably happens less than once per year.) Everybody enjoyed their baked goods. I found my cinnamon roll filling. I rarely have rolls without frosting, but this was good and much better for the waistline as frosting doubles the number of calories. I also had a bite of daughter’s triple chocolate cake ball. Wow! That was very rich. The counter clerk said she can’t eat one of those in one sitting, but my daughter made it through, plus her hot cocoa plus her chocolate chip cookie. I had a sip of my son’s hot cocoa. It also was rich — lots of cocoa used. The service was very friendly. The hot cocoa took a minute to make, so she brought those to us at the table. She asked if with live in the neighborhood, to which we said no. We had a lovely chat. There was one other family(very young child) in the bakery. My son went up to ask for a glass of water because he had so much chocolate with his cocoa and PB& chocolate cake ball. She was very friendly and helpful. The set-up could probably be revamped to be less restaurant-y and more cozy bakery & coffee shop-y, but it isn’t bad. The cost value is truly good. They beat the cost at every other bakery we’ve been to in the greater Seattle area we’ve been to, including grocery store bakeries, which you might expect to cost a little less. For fresh baked goods that taste great, you can’t get a better deal! We’ll be back some day to have some pie.

When I first heard of this place I was very excited to have a new bakery in my hood and it is pie, who doesn’t love pie. Well sadly to say I didn’t love their pie or even like it. I got two slices one lemon meringue and one coconut cream. First of all the lemon was too tart, I think it was the recipe off the real lemon juice bottle. I don’t mind tart, but the meringue should be sweeter to compensate for it. Next the coconut, which did have a good flavor, but the large pieces of stringy coconut ruined it for me. My last complaint is the crust, I believe the secret to a good pie is the crust, theirs looked and tasted undercooked. I understand with these two types of pies the bottom crust gets soggy, but the top edges should not be. I think they need to reexamine their products and step it up a bit, if you are paying over $ 3 for pie it needs to be better than the supermarkets.

I tried their cupcake and it’s just ok but their blueberry muffins are good. The owners are really nice. But hey, it’s worth a try!

3.14 Bakery is a new mom and pop bakery in the middle of the White Center business district. Adds a little more diversity into this block which has numerous phở places. The space is actually quite large. It was formerly a coffee shop and deli which explains why it looks like a restaurant. This is not one of those vegan, gluten-free or artisan baking type places. It is of the homemade tasting American variety. Bakery menu is good here with a nice selection of pastries, sweets and pies. Not many bread options, but I believe Sunday is their bread day. So go then if you are looking for some. Picked up a peach button, a slice of apple pie and bacon cheese scone along with a cup of drip Caffe Umbria coffee. The peach button was okay, though it was hard to pinpoint the peach flavors. It was nice tasting though. As pi is used in the moniker of the shop, the pie should be front and center. And it had better be good. Indeed, it was. Not top of the charts, but all around solid. Particularly the crust is of merit. Though I think the bacon cheese scone was my favorite of them all. How can you not like a pastry with bacon? It is actually reminiscent of those addictive Red Lobster cheddar biscuits, except imagine them with bacon bits on top! All in all, I think 3.14 is promising. The bakery goods are nice, though I think the space could be added upon. It seems like a space that is more suited to being a bakery/café serving sandwiches and soups than a pastry and coffee place. This bakery spot is new, but it certainly shows potential.

I have never had the patience to bake, let alone from scratch. 3.14 Bakery(3.14 = Pi for those of us that forgot our seventh grade math) makes all their stuff like they are keeping a crew of pioneer grandmothers in the kitchen. You can grab a coffee, a baked treat and relax. Like a few of the new business around them they are super family friendly and way out going. I felt like I’ve always been a part of the family when I checked it out and their opening couldn’t have been timed better. We had a gaggle of friends and family over last year for Thanksgiving and Xmas and bought pies for the grocery store. that some people nicely passed on. I was way too busy whipping up a feast to bake so I am gonna get all of my baked stuff from these guys. I do not promise to not take the credit for how amazing the stuff tastes though :)

I’m glad this bakery has opened! There cinnamon rolls are to die for! They also have good coffee. There are plenty of tables to sit at and they have free WiFi. Definitely a great study spot!
