Sutton Suites Extended Stays

Stayed here because they include the transfer to/​from airport to cruise terminal… You want be disappointed if you don’t expect too much — on a more positive note, the remodeled bathroom was really nice, and the staff was very friendly!

I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.
We had family visiting us for a week, and decided to stay up in Seatac on Saturday night, before touring Seattle on Sunday morning. We weren’t looking for anything fancy, just a place to stay for the night. We decided on Sutton Suites and Extended Stay, solely based on the price — $ 98/​per night for a King Size bed. We booked two rooms, and checked in around 7pm that same day. The reception area was small, and decorated with some crazy colors — one lime green wall, and one hot pink. It smelled of Lysol and Windex, but it was clean, which was comforting.
We had slight issues checking in. The first room we had booked for my husband and myself was available, but the second room we had booked for his parents was not showing up in their system. Thankfully, I had printed out the confirmation email which had stated that we booked two rooms, and she was able to rebook a second room for them. We retrieved our luggage and headed up the stairway, and through the door, into the hallway. Immediately after entering the hallway, I felt short of breath. It had been in the 90s all week, and was extremely hot and stuffy in the hallway. I thought, ‘the sooner we get to our room, the sooner I’ll be able to breath.’ We hurried into our room, and to my disappointment, the thick air and heat was far worse, and was accompanied by an awful smell that I could only describe as moth balls and cat pee. We opened our screen-​less windows to try and air out the room, but unfortunately, there wasn’t much of a breeze. We turned on the air conditioner, which appeared out dated, and partially broken, and explored the room.
It seemed nice, equip with a full size refrigerator and freezer, microwave, kitchen sink, table and chairs, couch, desk, and a vanity — almost like a small apartment. Unfortunately, it didn’t appear properly maintained. The door hardly fit in the frame, and needed a strong push to shut it. The silverware in the drawer and the plates under the sink still had food on them. There was garbage already in the bathroom trash can, and the sink/​toilet didn’t appear to even be wiped off, let alone cleaned. There were holes in the walls, some half-​heartedly patched, and a fairly sinister looking stain on the sofa. If you do end up staying here, I would recommend not removing your shoes for the duration of your visit. The soles of my sneakers stuck to the floor, no matter if we were walking on the carpet or the tile in the kitchen. I can’t imagine the last time the carpets were properly cleaned, or even vacuumed. And to top it all off, when my husband and I had sat on the bed to focus on catching our breath, I placed my hand in a large, crusty, white, stain in the center of the comforter that I could only assume was, well. You know.
Ten minutes after entering the room, we ran out to the car for some fresh air, where I found myself crying and begging for a cigarette — I haven’t smoked in over five years. We contemplated leaving for the night, but couldn’t leave his parents, so we opted to sleep in the car with the windows down. It was sketchy, especially in that neighborhood, but we decided to take our chances. At least we could breath!

Hole fing s*%&!!! This place is by far the worse place I have ever been to!!! Dirty floors, our bed smells, ac doesn’t work right, interrogation lamp over the couch, the smell of stale smoke all over the hotel. do not stay here. i am writing this as we are packing up. not even staying one night here.

Stayed at this hotel for 1 day. May 2016. The driver was rude, should not have been driving, older guy, wanted us to give him money after dropping us down the street which was his job, van was in bad shape, took a while to turn on, battery problem. Furniture in room really old. But to each his own. Will not stay there again. The fare to the airport was ridiculous.

What a deal. I stayed at this hotel for about three months and I got awesome deal. Internet, AC, Heat, every day house keeping, free breakfast, unlimited coffee, friendly stuff, free ride — are some few examples. Yes, this hotel is not a 5 star hotel and that is why the rate per night also is not $ 200 per night, but what a steal! The room is so big — even bigger than many apartments that are now out there. I would definitely would hope to stay there to save lots of money and have good rest in a big, clean, comfortable room that also offers nice view (I was at upstairs room).

This is single handedly the worst hotel I have ever been too. The walls are paper thin, my shoes stuck to the kitchen floor with every step, things are stained, damaged, and dirty. Dozens of greasy handprints line the doors, strange smells all about, they do a great job at making the front entrée pinesol fresh with sleek leather couches and a tv with food network playing. But once that room is paid for, it’s a whole different story. I literally found a pile of nail trimmings and a baggie of what use to hold a crystalline substance next to the bed. The shower knob was broken so much that the shower temperature couldn’t be adjusted, and when I wanted a glass of water, the cup that was available had a visible layer of gritty dust on the bottom. Burn wholes in the carpets, black specks on the sheets and the beds were hard and uncomfortable. I could feel the springs against my spine, it was awful. I even found random dirty socks in the corners. I believe the only reason this place is still open and running is because it is in Seatac which is a prime hotel destination due to the airport nearby.

DO NOT STAY HERE.
If I could leave ZERO stars I would. I have stayed in motels in Third World Countries that are nicer than this one.
First issue was their poorly lit sign made it hard to find and the sketchy parking lot instantly made me want to cancel my reservation and go find a Holiday Inn.
The moment I walked in, I knew I made a huge mistake by trying to save a couple bucks and stay at a substandard hotel.
The carpet, paint and overall look of the place is awful. They are supposedly renovating, but there was no signs of any renovations whatsoever.
It smelled musty and dank.
When I got to my room I honestly did not want to even take off my shoes. First thing I did as a pregnant woman was use the restroom. I grabbed some toilet paper and the toilet paper holder literally fell out of the wall. Sweet Lord I made a gigantic mistake.
The bed actually had a comforter that was probably from 1975 and most likely harboring bed bugs or mites. The furniture looked like it came from a cheap antique store in the slums.
The TV was mounted to a far wall to the left of the bed so the only comfortable way to watch TV was sitting on the edge of the bed.
The sheets had little black spots on them. I swore it was probably mold but my husband was hopeful and said it was probably ink.
I was so wary of sleeping in my pjs, I slept in my husbands sweats and sweatshirt.
The coffee sucked and the «breakfast» was meager.
We picked this crap hole because of the parking and the free shuttle to the airport.
The morning of our flight we went to the front desk and the man (a divorcee from Virginia) was unaware he was supposed to take anyone to the airport. He spent the entire drive to the airport complaining about his female manager for not telling him about driving us to the airport and his divorce and move to Seattle. He then talked us up in hopes of a tip. Seriously?
When we got back from our trip we called the hotel 23 times between the two of us to get the shuttle to pick us up. No one answered so we had to take a taxi. When we got back to the hotel I walked up to the counter and asked what their number was. Some Middle Aged curly blond woman glared at me and pointed to a business card. Excuse me?
After explaining we spent 15 minutes trying to reach them for the shuttle she just shrugged and said «I guess our phones aren’t working». She gave me 8 of the 10 dollars we spent on a taxi and turned away.
I will NEVER stay at this place nor recommend it to anyone. It was absolutely horrible in every way.

This place is a joke hookers bums everywere and they offer rooms for the homeless its not safe for kids food is ok i guess if you cereal and dirty pancakes plz i beg you dont stay here not worth it at all no mater how cheap this place is

My son and I arrived late on a Friday evening and stayed a total of 15 minutes, just enough time to find another hotel online and check out.
This place is a dump. No elevator, no pool, dirty, unsanitary and unhealthy.
Looks like a after prison housing, the pictures on the travel sites are not current and bogus.
This place is a scam. (get to this at the end)
My son and I checked in and started to our room to see big scratches in the walls and in the room doors we passed.
We open the door to a strong smoke smell, grungy looking bed linens, and big stains on the carpet. Now if that wasn’t enough my son opens a drawer in the kitchen to find serving utensils with dried on food still on them. That was enough for us to run as fast as we could out of there.
No way I would have my 10yr old son sty in unhealthy conditions.
The best part is that after checking out and the conditions we were subjected to. The sutton suites refuse to refund our money.
Along with kayak of who we booked through not backing is up at all. All
About getting you in and keeping your money.
Do not stay here.

No elevator!!!
We just needed a good nights sleep for a layover between flights. I never thought I would need to request an ADA room. But the building we were assigned to had no elevator!!!
We did not arrive from airport until 10:30. I asked the desk clerk for a first floor room he said there were none. We were assigned a room on the 3^rd floor. I asked where the elevator was and he said there was none!!! He said his shift was done but he would help us with our largest suitcase. We had to pull our bags up a hill (luckily it was not raining), down a flight of stairs and then up a flight of stairs. We had a lot of luggage from a two week stay in Alaska. We are 63 and 79 with some physical issues. We do not need an ADA room but expected an elevator or a bell person to take all our luggage to our room.

I read the reviews, both current and past, and decided, not for me and cancelled. We wanted convenience but not unclean, smelly rooms and unreliable shuttle service. A few bad reviews? That happens. Bad reviews both contemporary and historical? Nope
To the management (quoting Gordon Ramsey) «You don’t care anymore. You’ve given up haven’t you? If you cared you’d do something. People are walking out the door. Bolloks I’m done with you.»

Dirty S*** Hole in the Ghetto! Not like the online pictures. The floors haven’t been vacuumed or moped in months, maybe years. Very old and worn down building and rooms. The hotel and neighborhood are down right scary. Complete rip off.

Very dirty! No elevator and our room was on the third floor (wouldn’t normally be a problem but with two babies and a week’s worth of luggage it was not ideal). When we asked for sheets to make up the pull out sofa we were told that they had no clean sheets. I do not recommend! I will definitely not be returning!

Seriously, I wish I could give this place a lower rating. We stayed here the night before a cruise and used the week-​long parking and shuttle to the dock. Our first clue was when the desk clerk ran upstairs to check the cleanliness of our room as we were checking in. Our room was acceptable, but smelled as if it was smoked in for years. Our travel companions weren’t so lucky. They turned down their bed to find absolutely filthy sheets — the bed had been made, but the sheets not changed! One of the light fixtures in their room was hanging by the wires. Fortunately, they were able to switch rooms. On the shuttle, the driver crammed more people in the van than there were seats. He was a horrible driver to boot. On the return trip from the dock a week later, the same driver nearly tipped the van speeding through a turn light. We were never so happy to retrieve our car and get the heck out of there.

We stay here every time we come to SeaTac to fly out for an early next day flight. It’s a great, reasonable price and includes 7 days parking in their secured parking lot. The rooms are being updated one by one and are very clean and comfortable. And huge! Their beds are king size and all come with kitchenettes with a nice dining area and air conditioning/​heating. Highly recommend for the price, plus the owners are a small local family and are very nice people!

(This is not reflective of the front desk clerk that assisted us in the middle of the night June 24 to past midnight on the 25^th. He was helpful & did his best.) The overall condition of the accommodations were poor. The first room given was in a wing that wreaked of marijuana. We couldn’t even get into the wing because the key cards would not work. A guest happened to come out the same time we were trying to get in. Condition of room 2116 was horrid and the marijuana smell from the corridor was also in that room. Condition of room 107 was no better. Room 107 had unsightly stains on the bedding. Fortunately, we received a refund and we found a rest area and slept in the car.

If I could give this place just half a star, I certainly would! I wish I’d been able to read the reviews first, but the most helpful ones were written after my stay on 06÷25÷15.
It seems to me that the family running this place may or may not have bought it in the past few years and is trading on a previous owner’s good reputation, because the current owners aren’t doing it right.
The room had a very musty smell and could’ve used a strong course of Febreeze.
The bed linens were stained … the stains we could identify were blood … I guess they haven’t heard of bleach.
The bed was *so* hard — felt like a wooden plank! — that I woke up with severe back pain and even getting a massage only relieved it a little … pain like that for four days on what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation didn’t help me relax at all.
The bathroom sink plugged easily and took 25 – 30 minutes to drain so the next person could use it. Even if there had been sufficient towels in the bathroom, there was no way I was stepping in that shower.
The wifi was decent.
On arrival the woman at the front desk was helpful and pleasant. She was the nicest thing about our stay … initially, but that changed on the back end of our experience. More detail later. The lobby is tiny and cramped and over furnished with too-​big furniture for the space.
The main reason I chose Sutton Suites was that we needed to park our car for the week and have shuttle service to/​from the pier. I saw three shuttle vans and figured, once again, that they knew what they were doing.
The shuttle service is worse than sub par. On the way to the pier, the van we were in made horrible noises — not sure if it was the brakes or the engine or what, but I was pretty sure we were going to break down. We didn’t and I was relieved when we actually made it to the pier.
Things got really unpleasant on the way back to the hotel on 07÷03÷15, when we had to wait nearly two hours for our shuttle.
After we disembarked and had our luggage in hand, my husband called at 9:08 a.m. and was told «he’ll be there in five minutes.»
Twenty minutes later (9:27) he called again to see where the guy was — «he’ll be there in 15 minutes» we were told.
45 minutes after the second call (10:05) I asked him to call them again and let me talk to the woman who answered the phone. She told me that the first van had broken down and another van was his way and should be there soon — why no one could be bothered to call and let us know is beyond me. They had my cell phone number on file.
No further explanation was offered so I asked «would you please put me on hold and contact the driver right now and find where he is right now and how much longer we can expect to wait?» She put me on hold and came back two minutes or so later to tell me «he’s just entered downtown Seattle.»
«So how long until he gets here?» I ask. «Well, there is traffic» she says. Now, these people have been running this shuttle service on Fridays for quite some time now — or so says their web site — so one would think they’d be able to «guesstimate» the time based on experience.
The guy *finally* got to the pick up spot about **10:50**. We were getting hot, we were all thirsty, we hadn’t had any breakfast, and we were beginning to need a bathroom.
The whole way back the hotel, the shuttle driver was going a minimum of ten miles over the speed limit (you’d expect a shuttle driver to drive with his passengers’ safety in mind, not like a taxi driver bent on getting to his next fare!) with some loud alarm that kept going off — he finally said it was due to low tire pressure — and the seat belts were nigh on to useless. I sure didn’t feel very safe.
When we finally got to the hotel, I went in to talk to the woman from the phone (I promise I was polite and professional, but assertive), and she didn’t even attempt to apologize. Not so much as a «we’re so sorry for the delay and inconvenience». Nuthin’ …
I told her that future guests would likely appreciate a status update in the case of such inconvenient delays, because they would certainly have made a significant impact on our frustration levels. We would have had time to get some water or find a bathroom at the very least.
I also told her I would expect a partial refund of the charges we paid, but I doubt we’ll see anything. The owner, it seems, «won’t be in until Monday or Tuesday», and she didn’t bother to write anything down or offer to take my information to pass on to him.
Peeps, if you’re sailing out of Seattle, I would typically recommend you find a a hotel that offers a «stay/​park/​sail-​type» of package, but I would *never* recommend this place. I would rather stay at a Motel 6 and pay the high rates to park at the pier.
Never again. Never the Sutton Suites.

OMG!!! This place is filthy!!! What a rip off??? Lobby is nice and clean. But when you get to rooms area (hallway) and in the room, it’s a whole different world. Carpet is nasty, room smell, hallway smell like someone’s been smoking pot when you walk in… so much for NO SMOKING. Everything in the room is old and run down and filthy. Shower knob is broken. Wall has patches of paint job, every doors has filthy hand prints on them. We had to sanitize wipe everything including the oily headboard on bed. Walls are not insulated, we heard some guy masterbating or something (didn’t hear another person) then five minutes later he was snoring. We thought it could not get worse than this, then in the early morning we hear some guy (sounds like one of the owner) screaming and yelling at someone for about forty minutes. What a way to ruin a vacation stay.

Don’t waste your money!!! This place is dirty and crunchy! We were desperate at 2am and had to stay. We would’ve been better off to sleeping in our car.

This place is a ridiculously good value. I booked through an expedia deal for two rooms and 8 people. The total cost ended up being $ 45 per person for three nights.
The rooms had two queen beds, a TV, a kitchen with a stove and full sized refrigerator, a fully functioning AC, and a small dining table. The bathroom could be cleaner but most importantly the bed was clean. For $ 15 a night, it’s practically a steal.
The front office is open ²⁴⁄₇ and they have a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport. In the mornings they also provide a complimentary breakfast with waffles.
If you’re looking for luxury, this isn’t the place to go but it is nowhere near as bad as other bargain hotels I’ve been to. Definitely consider this place if you’re visiting Seattle on a budget.
