ZEROSTARS My elderly neighbor hired JEFFJUDD to do several handyman jobs this past summer — pressure wash, paint fence, paint front porch, replace rotten wooden fence. She had employed him several times in years past for handyman projects(repair exterior water leak and interior water damage, install new wood fence across back of property) and originally he was referred to her by a friend who had used him for several projects as well. His usual fee was«time and materials,» and he would provide receipts for materials which my neighbor would then re-imburse. BUT on this most recent job, he requested a check up-front to cover materials. My neighbor, having a history of work with JEFFJUDD, had no concerns about doing this. However, as the projects went along, he never provided receipts. He also showed up to work smelling of alcohol !!! My neighbor requested receipts and an accounting several times — each time she was met with an excuse. At one point JEFFJUDD stated that he actually owed my neighbor a refund of about 1⁄3 of her original payment. BUT he never returned any money, and eventually refused to answer his phone. Then my neighbor discovered that his Contractors License was expired, and that proper nails were not used to secure the boards to her wooden fence, and they started to fall off. She had to pay someone else to repair her new fence :(:(:( My neighbor does NOT recommend hiring JEFFJUDD to do ANY contracting or handyman work.
