You just have to go and get your $ 1.50 cone and bag full of taffy. They feature the popular Tillamook brand of ice cream. I have no idea if the taffy is made on site or not. I hope so. I love taking my kids and listening to the music over the loud speaker. It’s the same song over and over. From an old suspense thriller. A climactic scene where its storming and lightning. A young maiden is being chased by her attacker and suddenly falls to her death off a cliff into a violently churning ocean. Or something.

Hands down best taffy in the world. Have mad respect for the owner who stands on the corner passing out free taffy every time we are there. Employees are extra friendly and they don’t frown on taffy sampling

Located just off the strip, but if you are going to be a tourist and get some salt water taffy while at the beach you should go to the Candyman. I think the best part about its location is the foyer section that is protected from the weather but still lets sunshine in. My wife and I don’t agree on what type of taffy to get, but it has a huge selection from which to choose. The places on the main drag only have a sliver of what the Candyman has. While I like the chance to win candy the yells of step right up was a bit much.

I hate having walk by this guy when he tries to sing on the corner. His taffy cost me an emergency trip to the dentist, too. So I don’t recommend shopping there.

This place had the best selection of and quality of taffy in Seaside. I wish we didn’t even bother with another place we went first. Do yourself a favor and go here! So many flavors of fresh, soft taffy! :)

If I worked here I would probably have to be committed. If I had to hear the song«the candyman can» all day long I would go crazy. In fact if you spend more than 20 minutes picking out your taffy you can’t get it out of your head for 2 days… You can cruise the campgrounds and here people humming the tune. No where in my travels have I had such a selection of taffy. They have so many I think some are just made up. I can tell you that if you can’t find a flavor you like you might as well give up on candy. They have a unique way to advertise. The owner dresses up in black and white complete with bow tie and carries a tall tube filled with taffy. He hands everyone on the street corner a free taffy with a discount coupon. When you come down you spin the«prize wheel». It is fun and innovative. Going to the beach, and getting some salt water taffy is about as Oregon coast as you can get. This is the perfect place to visit when in Seaside!

Always have to stop here every visit! Taffy selection is amazing! The little one wanted an ice cream so she ordered but the lady helping another customer was just plain rude. I couldn’t help but notice how standoffish and upset she was that she was helping a customer. My daughter ordered a small cone and the guy who helped us was energetic, amiable and just plain great with kids. The other customers wanted to know come sizes and said that the one I just ordered was not available, scowling at me and the guy who helped us. Very glad she did not serve us, I would’ve left with no ice cream. Hope this was just an «off» day for her.

Love this place, always stop here when I am in Seaside. So many flavors of taffy, jelly bellys, ice cream. Outstanding place to visit & you must get your salt water taffy here! Staff is friendly and helpful and no matter what kind of candy you get, you won’t be disappointed!

I was so excited about the gigantic variety of salt water taffy! My husband and I selected about a pound each of all different favors. About half of our choices were really delicious. But, the other half? Maybe it’s because it was so late in the season, or maybe we just chose unpopular favors that don’t get used up quickly enough, but one third to one half of our selections were old and terrible! They all had that slightly rancid oil or rancid butter taste, that completely ruined the actual flavor. Even though we have quite a few left, I almost hate to try them, knowing that so many are not worth eating. It’s like a gamble with every piece… Very disappointing! On the plus side, the staff was very friendly.

The Candy Man rocks! I’ve been receiving free samples from him for years. I always take the coupon and head straight to the store for a pound of jalapeño taffy. It probably sounds weird, but the sweetness of the taffy with a kick from the jalapeño is just the right punch of flavor. You gotta try it!

I go here for the ice cream! I’m pretty sure it’s the cheapest in town. They carry 48 flavors of Tillamook ice cream. The least expensive is $ 1 for a cake cone, but you can get a sugar cone for $ 1.50 with 2 scoops! It’s always fun because they give you a little bit extra just because you’re special! You can find them just around the corner off Broadway. Follow the Candy Man music!

THE place to stop for saltwater taffy, but only because they have SO many. I asked the candyman singing on the street corner if they made their taffy in house and he hushed down and said no, but it is made locally(pretty sure it is Portland). The taffy is ok, and we loaded up a few pounds to take home. A taffy treasure trove for the kids to pick and choose. Ok, the adults too!

The salt water taffy is decent, but it’s really the experience that makes this place fun. Bring the family. Eat a free sample. Spin the wheel. Eat another free sample. I’m not sure why, but all the free samples made me feel compelled to by 25 bucks worth of taffy!

THEREAREOVER100DIFFERENTTYPESOFSALTWATERTAFFYHERE. I LOVESALTWATERTAFFY. The flavors are interesting, I probably could have spent another hour in the store but my friend clearly wanted to leave. I will be back here. If you love or even just like salt water taffy, I think it is definitely worth a trip to Seaside to try them.

Chipotle taffy? Yup, they have that, and a ton of other flavors, too. We were going to just run in and grab a couple of pieces of taffy, but every time I turned a corner, there was a different concoction of tastiness to toss in the bag. I think we had about 2 ½ pounds by the time we hit the cash register. My favorite flavor combo is the black licorice and red cinnamon. Yeah, sounds weird, but tastes great. This fun candy store helped topped off a great sunny day in Seaside. I’ll add this place to my «must visit» list for every time I’m in Seaside.

Holy taffy! My friends were in salt water taffy heaven. I was just amazed by the sheer amount of sugar and food coloring around me. And the adorable mini jaw breakers! Makes you go «aww». Beware that while they have tons of interesting flavors, most don’t taste nearly like the thing they’re suppose to taste like. pumpkin pie tasted rubbery, birthday cake was basically chewable sugar. I really liked the chocolates I got, though. Dark chocolate almond, dark chocolate cashew, dark chocolate seafoam, and dark chocolate salted caramel. I totally didn’t just eat it in one sitting… okay, I totally did. Mmm dark chocolate. The staff was really friendly. One gal kept calling me «hon» which was weird, because I think she’s younger than me. And I was offered help by all 3 staff in my 15mins there. Oh, they don’t count pennies so they round down your total depending on what your total is. Sweet!
